Malavar moves as close as he can to the jar without touching it. It has no special features or markings, and does not do anything.

Disappointed, Malavar risks touching the jar.

When Malavar reaches out his hand toward the jar, it suddenly sprouts several spider like legs at the bottom and scurries two feet away from him. It then sits back down on the ground, the legs vanishing back inside it.

Kendrivel seems excited when Dallion starts talking about magic... until he goes on naming all the schools and opposition schools like some professor, after which the kender gets supremely bored.
Suddenly, spotting the spider-jar he psrks up! Rushing over to Mal and said jar he approaches carefully from one side like a kid at a petting zoo. Psssst! Hey Mal... whatchu find?! I can help ypu catch it, i'm realy reeeealy fast when I wanna be... or we can like, herd iit to the spot! Then i could add spider-jar wrangler to my name! He practically vibrates with excitement

"You have my permission to wrangle as many jars as you like, Kendrivel," Malavar replies as he eyes the jar with disgust.
"Dallion, your theory seems sound to me. Must we begin by placing the jars in a particular order, or do you think it's enough that they're correctly paired when we finish?"

K-man tries to work up a lasso end on his silk rope to wrangle the 'spider jar', and then attempts to snag it

Kendrivel fashions a lasso out of his rope and then tosses the loop over the ornery jar. As soon as he does so, the jar suddenly sprouts a pair of bat-like wings and takes off into the air, dragging the kender behind it as it flies around the room in an attempt to get free.

Drezden attempts to help K-Man since he has no other ideas of what to do to help.

"Try to manoeuvre it into one of the depressions in the circle," Malavar suggests.

Drezden grabs hold of the kender before he gets too airborne, and pulls him back down to the earth. The two then work together at reeling the flying jar in. Once it is close enough for Kendrivel to grab, the wings vanish and it becomes an ordinary jar again, offering no more resistance or tricks to escape.

Drezden chuckles "Well now that was something. Reminds me of something some kid was playing with think he called it a kite."

Now firmly holding the jar in hand, Kendrivel must decide where to place it. He's already placed jar G (the one with the sword image on it) on the northeast point. Where will he place jar F?
