I'm going a different route with this goblin hope it isn't strange to have a goblin that is fairly well spoken rather than dumbed down. I was kind of intrigued by the idea of having a sneak smart goblin among orcs.

Hey, don't feel the need to let us know every time you change the module! You're the DM, you're the boss.

I didn't really change the module in this sense I just like to be an open and honest DM. Granted I haven't been posting all of my rolls that I have been keeping secret. I really just changed that the goblin was not automatically evil and stupid.
I kind of made him like the Gremlin in gremlins 2 that drank the smart serum, and was articulate.

I've never actually played in a game where Goblins are automatically evil and stupid. I've certainly never run one.

Goblins in the 1e Monster Manual are LE and have average Int (8-10) but tredning toward low (Int 5-7). In 2e they're listed with average Int (10). So maybe not stupid, but not notably intelligent and definitely an unpleasant lot.

Honestly, I was far more curious as to why you described the goblin exactly like a kobold. I've never heard of a goblin described as a 'dog-man hybrid'. They're usually described as having flat faces, broad noses and sloped brows.

I copied the description in the module which is from basic edition, but oddly it shows the monster as a goblin. That or I am seriously tired. I mean yeah he sounds like a kobold but eh i d k anymore. It could be DM's error on my part. But maybe this is a mutt kobold goblin mix.

lol, we will love him and pet him and call him "George" anyone ready to adopt? we could follow the full-blown adventurer trope and train him over the course of many adventures to become a rogue or a fighter

well George is already a kind of thief so far at least on how I'm playing him out.
