"Sounds lovely to me!" Anya says. She brainstorms ways to weasel her way into playing at the festival.

"A capital idea, Daos my friend, get your beauty sleep in while you can!" Roshek jokes. "Hekras and me, we've got some more drinking to do before we hit the sack. Nell, lass! Some more of this fine brew, if you please!"

Elethor nods, having been uncharacteristically quiet as he relaxes from the road.

Nell hears the drink order from Roshek and fetches two pitchers of the drink one for each dwarf. "I figured you might both just like a picture of it rather than a mere pint. Enjoy!" she flashes a smile to the two dwarves.
Hekras quickly fills his mug and downs it in one pull and wipes the froth from his face on his sleeve, then puts his hand up with one finger extended "Oye, Nell can I get more sausages?"
Nell nods her head and goes back to the chef and puts in an order for some fried sausages for the dwarf. "You'll have some sausages in about ten minutes master dwarf." she says to him as she goes past the table to tend to other diners.
Q shakes his head "I'll leave you to your own devices Hekras. I've some praying and studying to do, so I think I'll retire to a room."

Daos bids the others goodnight, then heads for his room to get some rest.

Anya does the same, noodling quietly on her lute before falling asleep.

Roshek stays in the taproom, matching Hekras pint for pint and singing dwarfish drinking songs until they've both had enough and are ready to wobble to bed.
OOC: Since Roshek has Con 18 plus a dwarf's resistance to poison and a ring of protection +1, I imagine his capacity to down alchohol is pretty impressive, even for a dwarf.

Most everyone else goes off to whatever rooms are left for them and goes to sleep, studies or prays some do all three. The two dwarves stay and drink the pitchers are emptied at least twice and they have drawn a bit of a spectacle. Other dinners are now cheering them on like it is a drinking contest. Half cheeting for Hekras and the other half for Roshek. Until eventually Hekras falls out of his chair belches and takes a bit of a nap. Manny of the spectators mutter "See I told yah he wouldn't win." to which another shakes their head and waves the boisterous person off "Nah, your full of what comes out a horses hind end." someone else chimes in "Ha! they're both dwarves no way anyone would have known which would out drink the other." eventually Nell comes over and gives Roshek one last drink "Last one I'm afraid sir. We gotta close up, and you should get your friend to bed. Though I must admit he does look quite comfy on the floor. But I can't really sweep or mop with him there." the chef and owner pokes his head out of the kitchen and chuckles with mirth "Dwarves know how to have fun."

"Thash RIGHT! The life an' soul o' any party, us dwarves be...are!" Roshek declares loudly as he rises somewhat unsteadily to his feet. "Hoy, Hekras! To bed with you!"
When Hekras fails to respond, Roshek peers closely at the napping dwarf. "Oh, right! Sleeping it off already. Good move lad, good move, but we best get you to yer own bed." Bending down, he hoists Hekras over his shoulders in a fireman's carry and wobbles upstairs to drop the other dwarf off in his room before going to his own and crashing out on the comfy bed.

After that is all settled you all settle down to sleep in a comfortable bed with clean linen. Just before dawn you wake to the sound of shouting in the streets, and you can see flickering flames through your window! Hurriedly, you dress, grab your possessions, and go outside. Townsfolk and travelers mill about, some crying in panic or fear. You see that the small temple in the town is ablaze! A tall man dressed in gray robes walks over toward you and begs for your help. “The orcs have raided us! They have burned our temple, and Aralic the Priest cannot be found. They must have kidnapped him! The wretched orcs have to be found and slain, or they will be back to loot and kill again. Two of our people are dead. Will you help?” At once, another man, older with graying hair and angry eyes, wearing leathers steps forward beside the gray robed fellow and holds out his arms to you. “If you want to follow the orcs, I can track ’em for you. One bunch of warriors has already gone off looking, but they’ve got the wrong trail. I can show you how to find ’em. My name is Janner and I want to help. My son lies dead from their swords.” His voice breaks as he points into the distance, where the orcs have gone. Here is the adventure you sought! There are evil orcs to fight, a goodly cleric to rescue, and maybe treasure in the caves you are told the orcs inhabit!

Anya practically hisses at the news. "Bloody orcs...we'll make sure they'll pay for this!" she snarls. She's already imagining the havoc her magic will wreak on them.

"Why would they do this?" Daos wonders aloud as he overlooks the carnage. "You say they took your priest? A hostage, maybe? Or is there some other reason they might take him alive?"
To Janner, he says, "I am sorry for the loss of your son. Yes, if you have their trail, we should perhaps follow it before it grows too cold."

Elethor draws his twin longswords and begins twirling them excitedly, letting his hands enjoy the familiar motion as he limbers up. Aha! You see, my lady Lizard Queen? I knew there would be excitement in this place. Come let us dispatch these brutes so we may be in time for the festival! I long to play for the orcs a song on my bowstring and my blades thirst terribly for it has been too long since they have drunk their fill of orcish blood. he grins wryly

"Mmm, you can't play a song on a bowstring. Believe me, I've tried," Anya remarks.

Janner replies to Daos "Well he is the only healer we have locally, so perhaps that is what they seek him to heal one of their tribe maybe someone of great importance to them needs healing or curing of disease. All I know is they didn't kill the man."
