It's the same background Mariska has, actually. One of the PCs in my Overmorrow game has it, too. It comes with a couple of extra proficiencies (Deception, Insight, Persuasion, or Perception), a couple of extra languages, and a feature called 'Disappearing Act:'

How do you interpret Mold Earth when it says "loose earth"? "You choose a portion of dirt or stone that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube. You manipulate it in one of the following ways: If you target an area of loose earth, you can instantaneously excavate it, move it along the ground, and deposit it up to 5 feet away. This movement doesn’t have enough force to cause damage. You cause shapes, colors, or both to appear on the dirt or stone, spelling out words, creating images, or shaping patterns. The changes last for 1 hour. If the dirt or stone you target is on the ground, you cause it to become difficult terrain. Alternatively, you can cause the ground to become normal terrain if it is already difficult terrain. This change lasts for 1 hour. If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have no more than two of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action."
I have always thought loose earth meant not a cave floor, not an building's non dirt floor, but otherwise good to go (dense forest where roots hold ground in I thought of as DM judgement required) but was surprised recently when a DM interpreted it as something like a freshly dug grave, if the ground hadn't been recently turned over then it wasn't loose in his opinion.

Animorte I realized I should ask since I am no longer in the druid boat but currently drifting and you seemed somewhat concerned: do you care about players doubling up on roles? As I said I don't but I realized that you might and if so then I should delete paladin from my lists of possibilities.

I'd define 'loose earth' in this context as meaning anything you could reasonably use a shovel on.

Post 1: I am still looking at options, but realized a funny option: wildfire druid aarakocra, wildfire spirit rides you spitting fire down on enemies as you fly around. Paladin summon mount, wildfire druid aarakocra summon rider.
Edit: I'm leaving this here cuz I think it is funny, but I realized that wildfire is not one of the subraces in the books we are using
Post 2: Okay, my current plans are either a high elf ranged fighter or ranger or a mountain dwarf sorcerer or wizard. next steps look back through the worlds to see what vibes.

The double-class thing isn't really a problem for me, I just didn't want to step on your toes, so to speak. Tell you what, if you decide to go with Paladin, I have a Stars Druid I've been wanting to play. How about this? Either way we look at it, we can have a Paladin and Druid. (No worries, I will use pretty much the same backstory, just leaning more into the jeli fields and star guidance than the redemption.)
Edit: Just noticed your recent thoughts. A bit erratic with excitement, I see! Looks like you're wanting to stay sort of in the back line with your ideas.

I'm interested in joining. I am new to DnD, but I was directed here by a friend who thought I might fit in here for my first adventure

Hi, Gardengnome. Do you have a link or could you transcribe your character here for me to see?
Did you have any questions about the game or the setting?

Gardengnome has his sheet in pen and paper, but the pictures were too many megabytes so this was easier since I already created it working parallel with him to build Seeboe.
PS: I don't think the generated PDF makes it very clear, but the 3 first level spells chosen to prepare for now are goodberry, entangle, and create or destroy water

Okay. I'll go over this when I can, and in the meantime I've given your account access to the Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel sub-forum, so you should be able to post there. So we can move any further discussion on your character over to the Character Creation thread.
