Through the mists of the Ethereal Plane shrines the Radiant Citadel, a magical city with connections to lands rich with excitement and danger. Travelers from across the multiverse flock there to share their traditions, stories and calls for heroes. The Radiant Citadel is the first step on the path to legend. Where will your journeys take you? This will be a series of connected one-shot games, not unlike the way Module Matinee is set up. The players are members of the Shieldbearers, a group of warriors who work and live at the Citadel. Their job is to keep the peace, settle disputes and solve problems both on the Citadel itself, and off-world as the Citadel is connected to fifteen different worlds via magical planeshifting crystals. This is a 5E D&D game for 4-6 characters, starting at level 1 with standard starting wealth. Posting pace is about once a day. House rules, character generation, lore and such can be found here. If you are interested, post here. If you have any questions, ask here.

A- How commom is travel between planes? B- The Domestic Adventurer book.. I dont recall this book, I think? Is it a homebrew thing/book to purchase? A - The lore thread I linked to goes into more detail, but there are these crystal 'ferries' called Concord Jewels that link to different worlds that are regularly used to travel between them. The Citadel itself is sort of a hub between those worlds. And it sits within the Ethereal Plane, so it's possible to reach it even without the Concord Jewels. The Jewels link to 15 different worlds, and travel between them is very common. B - It's a homebrewed supplement on DM's Guild I picked up years ago. If you have it, you can use it in this game. If not, it doesn't matter. It's mostly stuff for families, marriage, raising kids and starting businesses, that sort of thing.

I wonder.. does the goverment of the Citadel function, if every speaker can veto?
Are the olvidados playable?
So relgiously, I imagine the pantheons are of the mentioned civilizations?

It's complex, and requires a massive amount of compromise, but it can be done, yes. The laws of the Citadel are ever changing as new situations arise.
Olvidados are Undead, mostly skeletons or ghosts, and neither of which is playable by 5E rules as far as I know.
Yes, each of the 15 worlds connected to the Citadel have their own religion, some of which include pantheons. The book is pretty light on details, so anything deeper than that I'd need to make up myself.

Well, in Raveloft there is the dhampir. But alright. The undead guys soundee cool. That fine.
Alright, I have a general idea- a son of someone important (at least respected) a shieldbearer Veterran, and he is considered a failure compared to his family and became a monk to find inner peace- sort of. (Becoming a drunk master, so he also has his vices)
Tabaxi would be great from a monk, but they are from Volo. So that a no I imagine. But it isnt that important for this idea, I guess.

Monk would work out great, and I've never seen a Drunken Master before, so bonus there. Which world would his family originally come from?

I was thinking it could be nice to be a dynasty of heroes of the Citadel/Shieldbearers. The weight of high expectations and all that. Is it ok? I dont throw around how high ranking the family is, because I dont know how ok are you with it-
but the concept- -family from the citadel with great glory -character dont leave up to expextations, trying to find a spiritual solace -He is a bit spoiled
the rest in the adventure.
and Tabaxi is defintly a no?

Definitely no on the Tabaxi.
And what I meant was, which world did his family come from originally? There are no natives to the Citadel, even if they've lived there for 250 years, they came from somewhere else originally. This is important as it will determine his family's culture, naming, and their connections to their homeworld.

I was thinking of Umizo. The fantasy Japan. So monastic tradtions and martial arts would fit. I think. Well, if not Tabaxi, I had an image of a tiefling maybe, looking like Oni.

Okay. Umizu Tiefling Monk sounds good.
I've given you access to the sub-forum, so you can finish the character over in the Character Creation thread. No rush, though, since at this point it's just you. I'll need three more before we actually start.

You already know my idea for a character, but I thought I would go ahead and post here to let you know that I'm still interested.

After a week, it looks like you two are the only ones interested. So tomorrow, I'll see about recruiting off-site.
