Maria says nothing and quickly follows the others outside. Clearly she is a little tense and nervous when dealing with the constable.

The party is escorted to the entrance of the tower and let out. They move past the garrison and out the courtyard before Gimak speaks. "Well, that was...unexpected. You alright there?" he asks Maria, noticing how tense she is.

Drezden the dwarf spears to Maria "Hope yer alright lass I tried to fast talk him off the topic as I could tell it wasn't making you feel comfortable."

"The red wizards are after me. I come from Thay and was trained there. But I did not want to be a red wizard. Too backstabbing and you eventually might have to become an undead lich. Shamar is a red wizard who tried to kidnap me when I was younger. But my mom stopped them and smuggled me out of Thay. She died making sure I made it out of Thay and a chance to escape them.", Maria whispers rather abruptly and out of panic knowing that they would find out sooner or later, "So if we run into red wizards who want to get to me and bring me back because I am a magical prodigy then now you understand."
Maria gathers herself and continues walking, still visibly shaken by her encounter with the constable.

Drezden "Don't worry I won't let that happen lass. I'll defend you till my last breath if any red wizards try to take you."

"Damn," Gimak says, a bit stunned. "I've heard of the Red Wizards, of course. Never met one in person, but I know they're bad news. But still...never thought they were so evil as to target a little girl. Well, like Drezden says, if they come for you, they'll have to go through us first."
He turns to the others. "That said, we have until morning to get ready for our little expedition. Is everyone good on supplies and gear?"

Drezden "Guess it depends on how we're gonna get into the Eyrie. We either got to climb down a chasm or find another way in. Unless we're gonna stake out near the church ruins and try to kill them wood woses there. I'm good if we're just hunting these creatures near the ruins if we're climbing down some of us might need climbing gear."

"We should at least try to stop those creatures first. That way we can get the net and therefore prevent them from 'infecting' anyone else. Then we go to the Eyrie.", Maria suggests.

Elvarian pipes up. "I propose we plan an ambust tonight, yet prepare for a mission tomorrow. We need some way to cross that chasm. We need rope, a grappling hook and a rope ladder. If we can get a rope across, I'll walk it, pulling a ladder up after." he offers.
(how wide is this gorge?)

"I've got some rope, fifty feet of hemp," Gimak offers. "No grappling hook, though. We can do another stakeout, but we shouldn't stay out too late this time. And it was probably just luck we found a wood wose last time. There's no guarantee we'll find one this time, or that it will be the one carrying the net," he points out.
(OOC: The gorge was 20 feet wide.)

Gribben speaks up after a long silence. No harm shall come to you lass. We will not let the Red Wizards take you. We should take at least one of the creatures alive.

Drezden laughs "Take one alive ok don't touch it's thorns or sap as their both poisonous. Then would be the problem of trying to talk to em."

"Can we talk to them?" asks Gimak. "I mean, do they speak a language that any of us would understand?"

Drezden "I believe the only one that would stand a chance in talking to em is a druid or maybe a mage. As far as I can recall the speak the same language as a brownie."

As was her custom, Eringard had been listening intently during the group's conversation with the constable. She was a bit put off by the fact that the man did not react to her appearance. But if he was from out of town, he probably had come only after the destruction of the Temple and had perhaps never seen a servant of Lahtander.
She also assures Maria that the group will protect her, and she suggests sharing a room.
When the group discusses tactics for the day and night, she says: "I would be in favour of staking out near the oak tree and follow any of the wood woses if they go on another raid this night. Maybe we can prevent someone else to get hurt. I don't think an ambush like Maria suggested would work, since they have made their victims all over town."
