Just got back from seeing The Incredibles 2, a sequel 14 years in the making. It was, dare I say it...incredible!

It was kind of formulaic. Not a bad watch, though.

Just got back from seeing Jurassic Park 5, and man, that movie is dumb on so many levels. Granted, nobody goes to see them for plot or anything, but I couldn't stop snarking through the whole thing.

Have you seen Tag? I hadn't even heard of it until there was a poster for it in the theater when I went to see Increadibles 2. Snacs and I saw it on Saturday. It was really good. Basically Hawkeye and his non-super buddies play tag whoever did the casting for this movie was so on point. It's based on (very loosely based on) a real story. There is a twist near the end that I didn't see coming at all, but which was actually pretty heavily hinted at in retrospect. Maybe with a heads up you'll piece it together before I did?

Nope, never even heard of it. But probably won't see another movie until Antman and the Wasp in a couple of weeks. Really looking forward to that one.

I've heard of tag. A friend of mine at work saw it, and said she really enjoyed it too. I've seen promotions for it too. They even did a little promotional thing at Six Flags over Texas, riding The Batman.

Saw Antman and the Wasp today. It was hilarious and fun.
{Spoiler} Quite a gut punch ending, though!

Over my period of being unable to play video games/use the internet, I was finally able to see some Marvel movies! My brother and I saw Dr. Strange, Thor Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man Homecoming, and we’ll watch the original Ant-Man tonight! Pretty impressive of my dad, seeing as he considers “darn” to be a curse word.

Last week, I saw Teen Titans Go to the Movies. It was fun, and funny, throughout. Best DC movie since Wonder Woman.
And today, I'm going to see Christopher Robin. As a small child, I was read to and watched Winnie the Pooh all of the time. It was a massive part of my childhood. I tear up just watching the trailer, so I imagine the actual movie is going to mess me up.

Just got back from seeing Alpha.
It was awful.
I'm not normally the type to be put off a movie with a good story because historical details are off, but so much was so off that it was distracting.

That was the boy and his dog story that takes place in the Ice Age or something, right?

It's supposed to be the story of the first domesticated dog. According to the movie it takes place 20,000 years ago, but dogs were first tamed ~14,500 years ago so The entire plot is that all the men in the tribe go out hunting, and it's the chief's son's first hunt. He gets wounded and separated from the other men. The other men think he's dead and go home. He gets chased by wolves and hurts the alpha getting away. Because the alpha is injured the other wolves leave him and the soft-hearted chief's son nurses her back to health. The two struggle to get back to the village before winter. But that's not how hunting worked. The entire tribe went hunting, because why would you do something stupid like split your tribe in half? They took their village with them. Huts and tents were all strictly portable. They wouldn't have a long journey to get to or back from a hunt. Also, there is no such thing as an alpha wolf. That whole theory was based on a biologist misunderstanding what he was seeing (a mother and father of children leading them, not an alpha male and alpha female of a pack). I couldn't take the scene where the main character's father mourns his loss seriously because you could see the modern stitching on their clothes. And the chief's son gets "lost" by falling over a cliff side onto a ledge below and his men don't let him go down after him because it's a sheer cliff face and nearly impossible to free climb. Rope making and use preceded the domestication of wolves by nearly 10,000 years, but they don't have any to just lower him down the cliff to get his son because Also there is a big deal made about the chief's son being a super soft-hearted boy who doesn't kill animals and ? LOL? There is no way he would have reached adulthood without strangling a bird or something at some point. It's not a thing. also, if you are going to domesticate a dog, you should do it with one of the dogs that gradually evolved to be more tolerant of humans because they followed behind human camps eating scraps for a few generations, not a rando found in the wild inclined to attack humans on sight.

Yeah, I think I remember the trailer for it. It looked really generic and uninteresting to me.

So I spent almost all of last weekend drowning in math, studying for Exam P which is a brutal Actuarial exam with a ~50% pass rate. Good times. I specify "almost all" rather than all because Snacs convinced me to take a break on Sunday afternoon to go to a movie and get lunch with him. We saw the new Predator Movie. Y'all. It was bad. It was really bad. It had some of the laziest writing I've ever seen, and I play PbP RPGs
