Drezden agrees "Best we can do is give the elf a proper burial the orcs can rot and feed the carrion birds. I buried the elf ear necklace I found."

Moving the corpse off the road, the party finds a place where they can bury it, along with the ear necklaces. As they have no shovels or other digging equipment, they spread out and search for rocks to place on the corpse, until they have enough to make a cairn. This takes a couple of hours, but there is still plenty of daylight left for them to reach Lonelywood before nightfall.

Malavar recites a brief prayer for the departed over the cairn, consigning the elf's soul to his gods and then addresses the others. "Well then, shall we be on our way again?"

Drezden shows his respects for the fallen elf and all the others the foul orcs may have killed then gets Jack and begins back on their journey "I'm already back on the trail."

After that, their trip is fairly uneventful. They pass through the town of Termalaine and then continue along the shore of the lake until they reach Lonelywood. The village is quite small compared to Termalaine and Targos, which is a blessing as it means it won't take them long to find what they are looking for. The local shops abound with various carvings of knucklehead trout. There is, however, one shop whose wares appear more lifelike, appealing, and more skillfully crafted than the others. This is the Bone Works, owned by one Regis, a short halfling (barely three feet high) with curly-fluff brown hair and a belly that hangs far over his worn leather belt.
"Welcome and well met, travelers!" the halfling greets as they enter his shop. "How can I be of service to you this day?"

Drezden "Greetings and I wonder if the scrimshaw we recovered from a sacked merchant wagon might have been yours." the dwarf ranger says to the halfling.

"Thank you, thank you," Regis says. "Anything catch your eye?" he asks, gesturing to the assortment of carvings. "They make excellent gifts."
The halfling's ears perk up and he turns his attention to the ranger. "Sacked wagon, you say? I have heard news that the roads have been dangerous lately. I wasn't expecting any deliveries of scrimshaw lately, but if you're looking to sell, I always offer a fair price..."

Malavar introduces himself, but declines to participate in any haggling or sales pitches, letting Drezden and his companions take the lead.

Drezden nods his head "Aye one of three we found sacked by a gang of goblins with two ogres as muscle. Before them we ran into a smaller gang of goblins with a bugbear. I'll be right back I'll grab the scrimshaw and show ya it." the dwarf explains before going to fetch the scrimshaw from his mule's saddle bags. He returns a moment later with whatever he can carry of the scrimshaw. "What do ya think?"

"Well, let's see what we have here!" Regis examines the scrimshaw brought by Drezden carefully, making sure to feel it with his hands to get a feel of the texture, even. "Hmm, hmm, yes, not bad. Tell you what, I'll offer you fifteen gold for the whole batch. Anything else I can help you folks with today?"

Drezden smiles "You've got a deal. Yes we did have a bit of other business. I've heard you like fishing on the lake do you know much about the tales of the old wizards tower out there?"

"Oh, well I'm no historian...unless..," Regis pales a bit. "You don't mean the Crenshinibon, do you? It was destroyed. I saw it fall myself. It...it's not back, is it?"
===========
(OOC: The scrimshaw is removed from the party pool and 15 GP is added.)

"That name is unknown to me, Master Regis, but whatever it is, we do not seek it. We have been employed to discover the location of an ancient mage's tower that stood on the far short of this lake many years ago. The mage's tower apparently fell victim to an unseasonable thaw and fell into the lake, so its exact location is now known. Our employer believes that the location may have been preserved in the tales of the native peoples of this land, and that you might know a man who is familiar with these tales. Does any of this ring true?"
