"...Lalora isn't going to make it far," Ravarie says as she looks down at her hands. "Living away from her people that is. The prejudices that she holds, and it isn't fair to you to have to continuously pull her back."

"She is my sister, and all we have left now is each other," Sorrith states. "Do not be so quick to judge her. You have no idea what we have been through since we left home."

Meanwhile, Srill attempts to draw out a map of the shores of Harkun Bay. It's a very crude map, not to scale and poorly labeled, but it is a general idea of what the shorelines look like.

"You haven't exactly been forthcoming with the details," Ravarie says. "I haven't asked because I figured one of you would tell me eventually, though Lalora has been increasingly hostile towards me even before I left your people," she says. "And now, with that guard, which I can only guess she was close with, I don't think there is a way to repair that."

"It's not something either of us relish talking about," Sorrith says. "And we were both close to Zoubent. And Lophenne and Astrault, as well. We were all raised together in the same house, after all."

"I understand not wanting to talk about it, but it would help, at least for me, if you do, so that I might be able to understand better," Ravarie points out. "As for those guards...they all turned on both you and Lalora. That isn't an excuse for what happened," she quickly adds. "It is...you grew up with those people, and they turned their backs on you...oddly enough because of me. I didn't know agreeing to marry you was going to cause all of this suffering."

"It hardly matters now," Sorrith says. "I don't see any point in casting blame. Blame my people, blame yourself, blame my uncle or my mother or the guards; it doesn't change anything. What's done is done, and can't ever be undone."

"What exactly did your mother tell you before all of this took place?" Ravarie asks.

"She told me everything," Sorrith answers. "What does it matter now, though?"

"It might," Ravarie says. "I plan on coming back here one day, to help my people, and if possible to reinstate you and your sister," she says. "And to keep the peace between my people and your people...something like that could possibly help. I mean, I know you aren't thinking that far ahead right now. You have a lot to process."

Sorrith shakes his head. "You're talking about raising an army and invading Silvanesti. What are you going to do, force them into slavery, as payback for your own people?"

"I don't want payback," Ravarie says. "I want the three races of elves to work together," she says. "Which is easier said than done, but that is what I want."

"Even if your intentions are pure, can you really say you're any different from then if that is your plan?" he asks.

"Yes," Ravarie says bluntly. "I lived out on my own, away from my own people, for years, when the Silavnesti showed up and snatched me away," she explains. "I'm not saying there won't be a lot of bitterness on the Kagonesti side. It is going to take a lot of work to overcome that bitterness, but just turning the tables on the Silavnesti isn't going to solve the problem," she explains. "The three races of elves, at least on the mainland, have something to offer. We can learn from one another instead of trying to rule over one another. Yes, I am a bitter," she admits. "But not as bitter as I am towards the ones that made me fight for my life on a daily basis. I can overcome it though."

"You're probably right; we could learn a lot from each other," Sorrith concedes. "But that's not something you can force. Even if you succeed in invading the Silvanesti, and conquering them, they will never forgive you for doing so. We--they--lost their first home in a war. They will fight to their dying breath to protect their second one."

"Which is why invading isn't the way to do it," Ravarie says. "It needs to be done peacefully, but we have to have a show of support from the remaining Kagonesti tribes and the Qualinesti," she says. "Outside forces could possibly mediate if needed," she explains. "So that means uniting the Kagonesti tribes first, then bringing in the Qualinesti, and then finally tackling the biggest problem, the Silavnesti."
