After a good night of mirth and merriment, the party returned to their rooms in the keep and got some sleep. The following morning, they all met for breakfast in the scullery, and were greeted by Leosin there. The monk seemed haler than the night before, with a bit more color in his cheeks and skip to his step. Although still bandaged up, he was able to walk around without any issue now.
"Good to see you all again," Leosin begins. "I hope you had a good evening. I missed the little festival myself, but I hear it was nice. In any case, it's time for me to head out. I'm meeting up with a contact of mine in Solanthus, a Knight of Solamnia by the name of Ontharr Frume, so I and my fellow monks will be hitting the road momentarily."
The monk pours himself a mug of water and downs it before continuing. "After all you've done already for me personally and for the people of Greenest, I hate to ask anything more from you. But the need is great, and I dare to hope that you can aid me one time more. I need you to return to the cultists camp. You know your way around it now. If the cultists are preparing to conduct another raid, or a large body of them marches away, or if anything substantial is carried into or out of that cave, I need to know. If you have a chance to get into the camp and look around again, that would be the ideal way to spot anything that's changed. And while a long shot, if you spot an opportunity to free those prisoners...but mostly I just need recon intel; don't risk throwing away your own cover if you don't have to, especially now that some of you are a bit more recognizable to them. I don't recommend getting captured again," he adds with a wry smile.
"Now I don't expect you to risk your lives for free," he continues. "If you agree to this mission, I'll put up a hundred and fifty steel pieces each. Once you have something to report, head to Solanthus and find me. If I have already moved on by that point, report your findings to Sir Frume instead. We'll both be staying at the Black Tiger Inn."

Chantilly SweettoothHP: 27/27 - AC: 16 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: Yes Leosin didn't even finish talking that Chantilly was already tugging at Henry's arm: " See? We have another chance at saving them!" - she whispered to him. As soon as the half-elf was finished, she jumps from her seat: " I'll go take my stuff and then I'm ready to go!" - she says before running out of the room. OOC To avoid the same issues of last time, Chantilly empties her backpack and leaves its content in whatever room she is spending her nights. This should be enough to make her unencumbered.

"Getting in might be a little bit harder this time around," Eliana says thoughtfully.

"Well, I'd recommend avoiding the main entrance. And having some very good disguises," Leosin says. "But if the heat proves too much, you needn't enter it at all. Just keeping an eye on things from a safe distance will be good enough."

Henry - HP: 28\28 - Conditions: None - Active Effects: None
Henry seems a bit more chipper the morning after - still not high-spirited as a couple days earlier, but definitely less sullen. When Chantilly whispers in his ear, Henry chuckles and pat the kender's arm and speaks with a voice high enough that anyone can hear "Or maybe this is your chance to save me. Old Zakkoth and fair Benyt already did it, kind Eliana slapped me in the head so that I spoke with Lord Nighthill, now it's just you and Caelin." then the squire goes through one of his pouches and picks a letter before speaking directly to Leosin "Well, guess Lord Nighthill gave you a message for the Order. Would you be so kind to bring my report to Sir Frume as well?" a brief pause, Henry shakes his head "And I'm not risking my life for free. I'm doing it for the people of Solamnia. Keep your steel."

Benyt had been listening patiently, unsure if her path would lead her on alone from Greenest, when Solanthus was mentioned. It just so happened she had business in that city - and she was generally very curious to visit it. Revisiting the camp sounded suicidal, especially given the previous lack of coordination and planning, but the amount of money offered was astounding.
She turns toward Henry. "Truly? I would think that coin would be better spent by you helping those you in need than sitting in a coffer, but I'll happily accept it on your behalf. I'm just a lowly sellsword, after all," she says. "My sword is yours again, but only on the condition that we act with clear purpose and under the guidance of a single deciding voice." Her tone is placid and her demeanor easy, but her dark eyes land on Eliana, silently awaiting an answer. Will you lead?

Eliana catches Benyt's look, and clears her throat. "We haven't heard from Caelin yet, but seems the rest of us all on board to go back to the camp," she says. "We will have to scope out the situation there before we come up with a plan on how to gather information rather it be watching from afar or sneaking into the camp again. I do remember being told that whatever they are planning isn't exactly done yet."

"Well, guess Lord Nighthill gave you a message for the Order. Would you be so kind to bring my report to Sir Frume as well?" a brief pause, Henry shakes his head "I suppose I can, but do you not wish to deliver it yourself when you come to Solanthus?" Leosin asks. "And I'm not risking my life for free. I'm doing it for the people of Solamnia. Keep your steel." "Forgive me for saying so, but that sounds quite foolish," the monk says. "Even a squire must eat. Plus, I notice you seem conspicuously lacking in equipment. Is it your intention to go on this dangerous mission with nothing to defend yourself beyond your own fists? Or do you plan to mooch off the people of Greenest by taking gear from their town guard? If you truly wish to aid the people of Greenest and Solamnia, you should take the payment and use it to buy supplies and gear."

Chantilly SweettoothHP: 27/27 - AC: 16 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: Yes " Harsh as he is, he is right, Henry." - Chantilly says re-entering the room, fully equipped to set off for the new mission. " Plus, you're better off taking this money and then donating it to Lord Nighthill, or spending it at Greenest stores, like he said. This way you'll take two birds with one stone." - then she winks at Henry with a smile. - " Does this count as me saving you yet?" Then she turns toward Zakkoth, a hint of sadness in her voice: " Hey, Z. What will you do? Will you come with us or go with your friend?"

Caelin Valaerys, pariah of TakhisisARMOR CLASS: 14 | HIT POINTS: 24 | CURRENT: 24 | HIT DIE: 3d8 | CURRENT: 3d8 PASSIVE PERCEPTION: 15 | PASSIVE INSIGHT: 17 | INSPIRATION: 1 Caelin slept a fitful night's rest after the festival, his mind was racing, the past blending with the present, crashing in and welling up. The look on Eliana's face mirrored the look of betrayal on Jhaera's. Betrayal, an act he knew far to well, for it had been ingrained in him by his betters, by his masters, and those that they served. And yet, while that betrayal echoed in his skull, a man, a ranger, commended him on his loyalty to his companions. Chantilly, in her youthful ignorance, proclaimed the stranger Habbakuk, the Fisher King, but gods did not walk the earth, and they did not proclaim their admiration for a murderer's sole act of loyalty, or kindness. Still ... he lifted the potion above his head, where it caught the morning light. He studied it, a thick, reddish liquid, it coated the sides of the vial as he swirled it against the glass, the liquid shimmering in the light. It smelled faintly of honey, a citrus after scent, like an orange. 'You and your friends will need it more than me,' those were the ranger's words, easy enough to ascribe to the raid, the defense of the keep, and their venture to the cultist's camp, but was there more there, beneath the surface? He scoffed, he was being as foolish as Chantilly, such fanciful thoughts were for children, knaves, or moon touched fools. He was none of those, so he tucked the vial behind his belt, and readied himself to descend the steps and break his evening's fast. As he did so he could hear Leonin addressing his companions, coming in at the tail end of the conversation he had little and less to contribute, so he simply grabed a loaf of bread, cut it open with a knife, and placed meats and cheese within it. Chewing noisily as the conversation continued, they wanted to go back to the camp? What had he been thinking earlier, of the fanciful thoughts of children and knaves. It sounded like a quest for those that sought death, they'd been discovered and had managed, through luck alone, to escape with their lives, to return was an ill-fated venture. He sighed, looked to Zakkoth, loyalty & brotherhood, Caelin cocked his head, as if looking for the source of the hidden speaker to realize it was his own thoughts. He shook his head, shrugged and stepped forward, "Well I suppose I should join you, this venture is liable to get us all killed ya? And you're a damn fool if you believe I'm not goin' to be there to tell ya, 'Told you so,' fore we all die."

"He's right, Henry," Eliana says, echoing Chantilly's words. "You can still serve the people and take payment for your services."
She looks over to Caelin, once he finally speaks up, and raises her eyebrows curiously. "Who is the most likely one to cause trouble at the camp that could get us killed?" she asks pointedly to Caelin. She still hasn't had the chance to apologize to him, and she is still a little salty about the matter in general, but her question is valid. She knows a tiny bit of Caelin's history with the cult, and she knows that he is out for revenge against them. "I think I'm going to have to stick annoying close to you once we get back there," she lightly teases.

Zakkoth sit and listen. He is just happy to be in the presence of Leosin. But also Chantilly and Caelin. to Henry he chuckle. "If you hate money this much, I can take it in your stead. There is never too much ale" He answered Chantilly "I have seen a pigeon fly at camp's direction. The omen have shown that my path is with you."He ponder and the draconian nod to Benyth. "I think you have the coldest head among us, and the will. I have served some and more leaders in my past. You remind me of the better kind of them. I think you could be the most effective as leader."

He shook his head, he had told her last night, and it was true. Any thought of it was childish fancy, similar to Chantilly's notions of Habbakuk, he was not a good man, and she deserved goodness in her life. She was, however, his companion, and he would die, or, preferably, kill, to see her safe. He simply nodded, "Most likely me. I'll try to keep my murderous impulses in check," a pause, "but if we see Mistress Frulam, I can make no such assurances."

Benyt's breath catches and for the first time since you've met, her cool self-confidence is shaken. "I'm ... flattered, Zakkoth, but I only just arrived, and I'm here for the money as much as anything else. It would be best to choose someone you all trust is committed to your mission."

Zakkoth shrug. "I don't think it's money alone that drive you. And it's none of my buisness. Even if it is- it's make you impartial." He point at Henry. "You arent honor bound knight, forced to act foolishly." He point at Caelin "You are ain't revenge thirsty angry boy." He look at Chantilly "Like Henry, the kender is too kind and miciviouse at the same time." he point at himself. "I am an old beast, haunted by demons. I act on seemingly whim." He look at Ravarie. "Well. Eliana is resourcful. She did defeated a dragon. But she isn't as loud as you are."
