Kaelestia
Hp: 8/8 - AC: 5 Kaelestia stares silently at the exchange between the witch, the kender, and the cat, unable to find words to convey her feelings. " The horn we used earlier had a crystal on top of it, I think they are referring to the same object." - she says to Arthogate. Going back to the woman, she asked a question herself: " What can you tell us about this sorcerer you mentioned? You said you built this house, so I assume this is not where the mirror was initially placed. Perhaps we could investigate his lair to search for residual crystals."

Arthogate nods hearing the explanation "That makes sense Kaelestia."

"So is it the horn or a crystal?" "It is a horn made of crystal, just like the one you used to get here," Stevie answers. "Pity there isn't a ship to sail the endless sky back to home... we'd probably starve before we got there anyway." "Such vessels do exist, but I'm afraid they rarely visit this world," Stevie says. "The population here is quite small, so there is little reason for traders or even pirates to come here. In the time I've been here, only one such ship came here, a gnomish vessel that crashed. The gnomes are working to make their vessel airborne again, but as I understand it, it will never leave the atmosphere again. I don't know the specifics, but something about the 'helm' being too badly damaged to be repaired." Twill tugs on Stevie's sleeve. "What's a ship?" "It's a wooden vehicle that floats in the ocean," she explains patiently. "Ohhhhh." After a moment's pause, the kender then asks, "What's an ocean?" "Like the lakes on this world, but much, much larger. Many, many miles across. And the water is salty," Stevie replies. "Wow! I'd have loved to see that! I wish I could have spent more time on Krynn," Twill laments. Noting Sha'al's expression, Stevie explains, "Twill was born here, and lived his whole life on Chislev. As this world has no oceans, he has never seen one before. The entire world seems to be covered in a single continent." "What can you tell us about this sorcerer you mentioned? You said you built this house, so I assume this is not where the mirror was initially placed. Perhaps we could investigate his lair to search for residual crystals." "Yes, the mirror was originally in the sorcerer's citadel. I moved it here later. The citadel once belonged to a Wizard of the Black Robes. I'm not sure how he wound up here. Perhaps through a mishap like my own. Or perhaps his sojourn here was deliberate, in an attempt to create a haven where he could practice the dark arts beyond the gaze of the Conclave. In any case, he is long dead, and the citadel is abandoned. But still quite dangerous. I did not explore it thoroughly...it is possible a crystal horn might still be there. It may well be your best chance," she admits. "The storm should let up by morning. You are welcome to stay here for the night and rest. I'm afraid I don't have accommodations for you all, but you can camp out here in the parlor; there is plenty of room and I can provide some extra blankets if you have none," Stevie offers.

Sha'al's expression of surprise at the sky ships grows more incredulous at each question posed by the kender, culminating into utter shock at Stevie's revelation. No... no salt... no ocean?! What kind of place... his hands tightened into fists in frustration. Even Zeboim would not be so cruel... but she was here indeed, the storm outside shouted in her voice... gods...
Kaele's right, we need to search that place stem to stern and find another crystal horn. Doesn't seem to be a choice... What kind of dangers there? Monsters? Traps? Wild magic?
Miserable excuse for a... no, that was it alright. Misery. The gods loved it, and loved inflicting it on others. Zeboim in particular liked spreading a little misery, just to show she could. She wanted them miserable... but he couldn't see her sending him here where she had no seas to control... but maybe she could get him back to it. Yeah... she needs to see the misery...
==== After the discussion but before bed, Sha'al will go on an extended walk through the storm (maybe an hour or so). He will stay near the house and avoid obvious hazards (aside from just being outside). The idea is basically to endure and acknowledge the fury/ strength of the storm, and to be wet and miserable to some extent. Kind of a gesture of acceptance of Zeboim's power in hopes that she will help guide him back to the sea

"What kind of dangers there? Monsters? Traps? Wild magic?" "All three, I would say," Stevie answers. "From what I saw in my brief time there, the citadel was a place of blood sacrifice, demon summoning, and other dark arts. There's no telling what evil creatures or forces may still be dwelling within it." She adds, "I can draw you up a map to show the way there. I'll include a small settlement on the way there on the map. You can pick up any additional supplies you might need there." "Oh, oh, oh!" Twill shouts excitedly. "I can help! I know these woods really well. I can be your guide!" "It's true, Twill could be quite useful to you, not only as a guide, but if you run across any traps or locks, as well," Stevie admits.

Sumina was at a loss of words. So much information was thrown at the party that she was still trying to process it. Even she thought it was strange that there wasn't an ocean on this planet. "How often does it storm like this?" She finally asks. If they were going to be traveling those world, it would be a good idea to know what kind of weather they were dealing with.

Arthogate nods his head "Ah I see well I didn't get a good look at the horn exactly, but I suppose that makes sense."

"How often does it storm like this?" "Fairly often, and sometimes much worse than this," Stevie admits. "It's odd, as this world has no moons, so I'm not sure what is causing the storms. But the near constant rainfall is why the entire planet is covered with greenery, even the poles. No need to worry, though, this house is enchanted so even the worst monsoons won't do any damage. Fortunately, monsoon season isn't for another few months, so at worst you'll just face mild thunderstorms."

"But we will be wet it seems like, through much of our journey," Sumina says. There was only one person in the group that was going to like that.

So you're not coming. he observes aloud.
Sha'al shakes his head. Even in a place of no oceans, Zeboim stakes her claim. Storms for months. monsoons... yep. She had enough presence here to make something happen... He cringed at the thought of Twill accomanying them, but the Kender's handiness with the chest that had contained the last crystal horn stuck out in his memory like a branding iron. Yeah, kid. We could use a guide. But our crew is tight knit. No tricking or 'lifting' from your mates, and if you 'borrow' something, have it back before your mate needs it. Like when 'kitty' went missing. Hard to stay your course when your mind is adrift on what's missing, yeah?

Arthogate chimes in "Storms don't bother me much I kinda like thunderstorms. Well whatever we need to do I'm in."

KaelestiaHp: 8/8 - AC: 5 " Could you also mark on the map the place where we could find those gnomes? Just so we could have a contingency plan if things goes awry at the citadel." - Kaelestia asks. - " After all, Sha'al and Granker are pretty experienced when it come to ships, they may be able to lend them a hand."

Like when 'kitty' went missing. Hard to stay your course when your mind is adrift on what's missing, yeah?" "Sure do, I understand perfectly, Mister Green. Except what 'crew' means. And what 'mate' means. And what 'stay your course' means. Or what 'adrift' means. But other than that, I understand perfectly," Twill swears. "Also, I'm not a kid. I'm almost 27!" "Well, that is by Chislev standards," Stevie interjects. "The years on Chislev are longer, so by Krynn standards, he's actually closer to 34." "Wow, I just gained five years--" Twill begins. "Seven years," Stevie corrects. "-- Seven years, wowee! I'm even more adult-er now!" Twill continues. "So mature, much responsibility!" He nods sagely. "Could you also mark on the map the place where we could find those gnomes?" Stevie nods. "I can, although the crash site is a good hundred miles in the opposite direction of the citadel."

Arthogate out of curiosity asks Stevie "So we age 7 years coming here through the mirror how does time pass or do you know, all the time we spend here is it equal to hour back home? Or is it more like days, weeks, months? Or if we were able to go back through the mirror now would it be as if we never left?"

"Oh, no, I didn't mean time moves any differently here than on Krynn," Stevie clarifies. "How do I explain this? You see, a 'year' is the time it takes a world to revolve around its sun. It takes Krynn 360 days to complete one orbit, but it takes Chislev 454 days. Days are longer here, too. A day on Krynn takes 24 hours, but here on Chislev it takes 27 hours. This is because this world spins on its axis slower than Krynn does."
