Lillian waits for Ladonna to answer Hazels question, and ponders on Jherek's guilt--or lack thereof. Even with him being a member of the Wyld Boys back then, she still has some doubts that he was truly responsible.

"Single," Ladonna says. "Oh, and I think Oskibar here needs one as well," she says, motioning to the dwarf in question. "Single as well." She then looks to Ignot. "Did you want to stay with your family, or would you like a room as well?"

"Oh, yes, thank you," Oskibor says. "I'd hate to sleep out in the carriage while we're here. Bad enough the missus has me on the couch most nights back home."
"I will just...sleep at home...with my fam...ily," Ingot says.
Hazel says, "That'll be six silver then. And you, Lillian? I do believe we have your old room available, if you want it."

"The rooms here are comfortable, so you should be able to get some good rest," Ladonna says to Oskibar. There is some slight amusement in her voice as he speaks about his wife. She pays for the rooms.
"I think I'm going to go speak to the Reeve to see if she knows anything else."

Lillian pays six silver as well, for her and Panola, while Finbul offers to just stay with his family while in town.
Meanwhile, Ladonna, Ingot and Oskibor head for the reeve's office in the barracks. Ser Derica Walls is currently going over some paperwork at her desk when they enter. "Ah, Ser Marche. It's been some time...a year, I think? How has Hart been treating you?" she asks.

"Hart has had its ups and downs," Ladonna admits. "We are actually here on official business, but I'm not sure how much you can help considering it happened before I left for Hart. A Calabrian merchant was murdered, supposedly by Jherek, and now Lillian and I are here to investigate with a Calabrian dignitary," she explains. "His name is Amodeo, and he has been here before to investigate the same thing."

"Yes, I know of him. He's been here several times over the past year, actually," Derica admits. "He just leaves briefly to go pester the count for resources."

Derica shakes her head. "No, I don't keep track of every person who comes and goes in this town, and it was years ago. I'm not sure what this Amodeo hopes to accomplish, any trail has long since gone dead cold by now. Pardon the pun."

"What do you suppose we should do?" Lillian asks Panola and Finbul. The last time she tried to take a leadership role, it didn't end well. "Perhaps we could ask Merida if she knows anything about Katya that could be useful."

Derica leans back in her chair and sighs, trying to collect her thoughts. "Let's see...the first time he arrived, he wanted a list of everyone in town who had spoken to, seen or even been near this missing merchant of his. That, in itself, was a difficult task, if not impossible. But we did manage to compile a list of names, and he insisted on speaking to each of them. The only person on the list he couldn't speak to was Jherek Everfull, who disappeared some time ago. So from that point on, he mostly asked everyone questions about Jherek--where he was, why he disappeared, and so forth. He seems convinced Jherek is responsible, or at least knows something, but nobody has any idea where he is these days."
Lillian
"Sure, although I have no idea who those people are," Panola admits.
"Kayta is an old friend, and Jherek's betrothed," Finbul answers. "Ser Mereida Waelnod is Katya's mother."
"Wait...the daughter of a knight was betrothed to a half-elf?" Panola asks.
"Well...bastard daughter," Finbul says. "Nobody knows who her father is."
"I see," Panola says. "Well, let's go check it out then."

"Damon took out the Wyld Boys from what I have heard," Ladonna says. "And since Jherek was supposed to be with that group, I assume he was the last one to see him. I don't suppose you still have that list of people he talked to?" she asks. "Considering how hard he is searching for Jherek, I kind of wonder if there is any relation between the two."
