Grabbing her medallion with one hand, Sumina uses the other to point to the giant spider. She prays to Sargonnas, calling down his divine fury, frightening the spider beyond reason. Parra conjures a small snake on top of the spider, but it's so large and so afraid it doesn't even notice the little thing. Granker, Sha'al and Kaelestia all attack it, but none are able to pierce its thick carapace. Likewise, Arthogate's arrows bounce off it, but Twill manages to break through with a lucky hit from a stone slung from his hoopak. Terrified, the spider turns and starts to skitter away, albeit slowly due to its immense size. Sumina, Granker, Sha'al and Kaelestia all attack it as it flees, but only Granker manages to pierce the carapace with a strike from his katar sword, badly bloodying the oversized arachnid. ============ InitiativeSumina: 1+1 = 2 Parra: 4+2 = 6 Granker: 3+3 = 6 Arthogate: 1+7 = 8 Sha'al: 2+7 = 9 Kaelestia: 5+5 = 10 Twill: 9+2 = 11 Giant Spider: 6+6 = 12 Round 02!Sumina casts Cause Fear at the giant spider. "Let it go!" Sumina calls out to the others. "And let's get out of here before it comes back."

Arthogate nods his head in agreement "Sounds like a good plan to me." the dwarf keeps his bow in hand along with an arrow in the other just in case the thing pops back up he can maybe get an arrow shot at the thing.

Kaelestia
Hp: 8/8 - AC: 5 " Yes, thankfully it was only a bad scare, I am unharmed it seems... As opposed to you, Sha'al, I am sorry you were hurt." - she says, recovering her boot, if it's still intact. - " But Sumina is right, we should hurry."

Kaelestia's boot is a bit chewed up and a little slobbery, but fortunately still intact. The party moves on, and after another couple of hours, they can now clearly see the citadel. It sits at one end of a box canyon, with most of the structure built into a steep cliffside. From the trail, only a landing and a tower that rests upon a spur of rock can be seen. Unfortunately, time has worn down the trail to the point it is very narrow--perhaps half a foot across. What's more, it's a very long way down. Should one slip and fall, they would drop over a hundred feet before hitting the ground below. "Wow, how exciting!" Twill exclaims. "This is turning out even better than I had hoped!" ============== It is now Ninth Watch (3 PM).

Kaelestia

"I think Granker does," Sumina says. "And that hand cart isn't going to make it across, so we are going to have to leave it here. If you need anything from it, I suggest you get what you need now."

Granker actually left his rope back on Ferd, who is back on Krynn. "Oh, I have some rope right here!" Twill offers, pulling out Arthogate's rope from his pack.

Hurt can be fixed. Dead is harder to fix. Just glad we're still a whole crew. He pats Kaele's shoulder.
Upon seeing the path. Yeah, rope. anyone have pittons/ climbing spikes? When a new hand has to walk a beam, the easiest way is on all fours. Sha'al offers.
==== Jades, thoughts on any advantage going on all fours might offer?

"I don't think any of us have climbing spikes," Sumina says. "I think we are just going to have to be extremely careful. We can take it slow."

Sha'al retrieves his pack from the cart and fishes out his grappling hook and rope.
=== How long is the trail up?

Retrieving his rope and grappling hook from his pack, Sha'al estimates the trail is probably about 60 feet or so in length.
