Kaelestia
Hp: 7/8 - AC: 5 Kaelestia is overwhelmed when the ship starts moving again and lifts itself up in the air. She goes looking over the edge to the earth below, which turns out to be a really bad idea according to her stomach. When she feels better, the irda asks the gnomes: " How-How does this contraption work?"

Arthogate getting a little lost in the discussion tries to chime in "Uh what about repelling down the rope like mountaineers do? I suppose you could attach a really large bed sheet to the person's back in some attempt to use the wind to slow the person down... then again how would you know how long a rope is needed? But jumping off a ship in mid air sounds insane without proper safety measures." all of this probably sounds odd coming from a dwarf barbarian.

"What was used before the sheet?" Sumina asks. "A series of small parasols attached to the subject," the gnome says absently, continuing to write notes down. "How-How does this contraption work?" "Oh, it's quite simple. Taking into account the thrust, lift, drag and weight of the vessel, one can take measures to increase air pressure beneath the wings to achieve flight." He then launches into a thoroughly complex and jargon-filled explanation of aerodynamics that fly over everyone's heads. "But jumping off a ship in mid air sounds insane without proper safety measures." "Insane? Safety?!" the gnome repeats. "Great science can never be achieved if one always thinks inside the proverbial box, restrained by such petty concerns! There is no reward without risk! Like they always say, 'You cannot create a breakfast dish made from beaten unfertilized shelled zygotes, fried with oil in a pan without breaking a few of those aforementioned unfertilized shelled zygotes!" He then adds a mighty "Harrumph!'' The journey, which took them several days on foot, passes by in the span of a couple of hours. After much pleading, the gnomes finally albeit reluctantly agree to land the ship instead of testing their various contraptions on the party to disembark in a far faster if much more dangerous method. The ship lands in a small clearing less than a mile from Stevie's place, allowing the party to disembark. It then takes flight again, although it scrapes the tops of several trees in the process, even managing to knock one down entirely. "Wow, wasn't that great?" Twill asks the others, practically vibrating from the experience of flying.

Kaelestia
Hp: 7/8 - AC: 5 Kaelestia is grateful to feel the earth beneath her feet again, and she leans against a tree to stabilize her breath. She smiles at Twill: " It was... Certainly an experience I never thought I would go through in my life. Yes, I would say it was great, all things considered." - she says with a chuckle. - " Let us report our success to Stevie at once, then." - she says, before heading toward the mage's house. OOC I really wanted that pearl. 😪

As the suicidal conversation goes on, Sha'al watches the others who had seemed not to understand what riding with the Gnomes might entail. A wry grin crosses his face briefly and he shakes his head. They would never forget this, he was sure... provided they all survived. When they land he gets clear of the takeoff and looks to the others. Alright, let's go before we miss our chance. We still don't know if there is some hidden time limit on this trick. Maybe Stevie will have a pearl you can buy. he adds to Kaele

Once they step inside, Stevie is there to greet them. "Ah, you have returned--" she begins, but is quickly interrupted by Twill.
"Stevie, Stevie, it was so great! We fought a bunch of corpses, and then we slept in a giant tree, and a big spider tried to eat Miss Elf Lady's shoe, but then she forgot that even happened, and we found some secret treasure and a screaming demon stuck in the ground, and magical lifts and another mirror but not as good as yours, and we fought an evil dog made of darkness and we found the crystal horns!" he exclaims, practically jumping up and down in the process.
"That sounds like...quite an adventure," Stevie notes.

Sumina was still in a state of dumbfoundedness after the ship ride with gnomes. They didn't die, but it seemed like they were dangerously close there for a little bit. "Well, Twill pretty much summed it up," she says. "The important thing is that we have the horn."

"I am gladdened to hear you succeeded then, and hopefully in enough time, too," Stevie says. "It seems there is only one step remaining on your journey." She gestures to the mirror.

"W-Wait, you aren't leaving right now, are you?" asks Twill. "There's still time, right? For one more adventure? Or two or three? I can show you the giants that live to the south. Or we can find more of the Nzunta, if you want. Or-or-or-"
He is interrupted when Stevie lays a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Twill...if they don't leave now, they might never be able to get back home again."
"But...but...they're my friends, and I'll miss them!" Twill whirls around and buries his face into Stevie's robe, crying. And not his usual theatrical 'boo-hoos' but genuine tears.

Don't worry, Twill. I'm sure you've already picked up a couple of things to remember us by.Sha'al says, wryly; simultaneously checking his pouches to make sure nothing important is missing. gods please let it be true... If he could make it off this world without the Kender following it would almost be worth everything that happened after the Ogre...

Sumina wasn't exactly sure when Twill started to consider them friends. She watched him cry with a rather neutral expression, and was a little surprised to see Sha'al attempt to comfort him. "Sometimes friends have to leave one another," she finally says.
