I recently sat down and tallied up the XP from that last Baaz encounter (sorry I keep rolling random encounters with Baaz, I don't know what's up with that) and we're pretty well on track to hit level 3 (most of you, anyway) by the end of the chapter. Still too early to be completely sure about it, but I think we're making good progress toward that goal. There are actually only three more written encounters (all optional) in the game, but we'll see what random encounters we might get as they come.

Nice. Eh the Bazz encounters don't bother me it is random so I can't fault you for what the rolls result in.

Too tired, I'll post something tomorrow (but I'm really liking this part).
ps.: it didn't even cross my mind that the baaz we encountered were a random encountered, it clicked so well with the previous encounter that I thought it was a natural continuation xD

The first encounter was planned, but the two after that were both random. I did try and tie them together, though.

"Attention! Someone has tried to destroy the false Glass of Eternity, and in doing so have attempted to destroy us all. All guards respond; find these interlopers and slaughter them." Unless Arthogate was somehow really not paying attention, he'd know the guards aren't chasing the party to arrest them.

There's a ton of context that Kaelestia isn't aware of, and unfortunately Kaelestia is not really knowledgeable about history or religions, so I can't really say any more.

I just read the post with the priest's answer... I know what Istar is, sadly... Now I understand those nutcases a bit better. Would the name ring any bell to Kaelestia or the others?
edit: also, is there another exit to the temple that we can see from where we are?

Oh, yeah, everyone knows about Istar and the Cataclysm. It changed the face of the world, literally.
And there is a door behind the priest, but it's not clear if it's an exit or not.

it was a huge historical event the only people that don't know about it likely were on another planet or maybe stranded on a moon. Sorry thinking of that one novel where some of the heroes of the lance ended up in a gnome flying machine landing on one of the three moons.
