Finally letting go of her, Amanda takes a step back. "Well, let me get a good look at you. You've gotten so big! What a beautiful young woman you've turned into."

Ladonna is still stunned, but she smiles light to her mother. "Thank you, but what are you doing here?" She asks curiously.

"The Church sent for us," Amanda explains. "It was all very odd, but they said they had a betrothal for my daughter. Err, I mean my other daughter. One second." She turns back to the ship and putting a hand to the side of her mouth, calls out, "Blythe! Blythe, dear, come along! And bring Felix with you!"
Ladonna sees a young girl with bright red hair disembark the ship, holding the hand of a little boy. The girl looks to be around 12 or 13 or so, just coming into adolescence. The little boy, who also has fiery red hair, looks closer to 5 or 6. Both are quite well-dressed, as well.
"Ladonna, allow me to introduce your little sister and brother, Blythe and Felix. This is your big sister, Ladonna. Come say hi, kids."
Stenn, meanwhile, kind of clears his throat in mild annoyance. "Oh, forgive me, where are my manners?" Amanda says. "This is my husband, Stenn. He owns a fleet of merchant vessels back in the capitol."

"Certainly, I'll have all of them," Lillian answers. Once she gets her food, she asks, "I wonder if this is the sort of food they have in Ruara? It seems a bit more like Tardish fare."

The woman shrugs. "Don't know, never been to Ruara. Figured they just ate salads and the like there."

Ladonna's eyes widen to not only see a much younger sister, but a brother as well! She looks towards the Sadduce, and almost wants to ask how this was getting things back on track? This wasn't back on track at all!
"You, uh, raised a whole other family," Ladonna finally says softly. The tone of her voice was unfamiliar, even to her. It was a rarity for her to sound hurt. She couldn't help but think to herself that after this, the only sane thing to do was to get good and drunk.

The children give awkward and shy 'hellos.' Voltera, for her part, continues to look pleased, completely oblivious that anything is wrong.
"Well, yes...life goes on," Amanda says. "The important thing is that you are happy and healthy. You are, aren't you?"

"I've not been there since I was born," Lillian remarks, as she eats. "But I've become curious about it, lately."

"Don't know anyone from there, but I heard there are a couple of Ruarans that live in the castle," the innkeeper says. "One of the wardens, 'though word is he got busted down to stablehand for some reason or another. The other was a handmaid to the count's daughter. Oh, and there was a rumor awhile back there was a whole pack of 'em, refugees, that are hiding out somewhere near Buho with the goblins. Wild tale, huh?"

"Yes, I've been acquainted with both of them," Lillian says. And the refugees, too, she thinks to herself.

"Really? You've been up to the castle before?" the innkeeper asks. "You must be pretty important then."

~The important thing is that I'm happy and healthy?~ Ladonna mentally asks herself. She seriously can't believe her own mother just said something like that. Her eyes darken a little now that the shock has worn off. "Oh, I'm remarkably well," she finally says. "With a lot of hard work, after my mother abandoned me, I managed to raise myself up to a knight," she explains. "I was well on my way to getting married even, but the church has decided that the younger sister I knew nothing about is a more suitable match for the man that I was to marry."

Amanda looks hurt at that. "Abandoned? Ladonna, that's hardly fair. I begged you to come with me, but you refused. Don't you remember? You said that if you came with me, it would mean leaving your father all by himself. Wait, what's this about your husband? And you're a knight? How is that possible?"

"I was ten years old. I didn't want my mother to leave at all," Ladonna points out. "No matter how you look at it, even if you asked me, you still left," she says with a sigh. "And yes, I'm a knight. After saving Buho, the Baron bestowed me with a title. As for a husband, up until today, I was planning my wedding that was supposed to be held right here in Hart."

"And so what, now you blame me for not staying with a man who didn't respect me, didn't communicate with me?" Amanda asks, repeating the words Ladonna told her mother when she time traveled. As much as she wants to blame Amanda for what happened, the truth is, had Ladonna left well enough alone, her parents would have stayed together. By interfering, she caused the divorce. "I deserved better than that. And frankly, so did you. But you were always so loyal to your father, and I guess it was easier to make me the bad guy for wanting a better life than to open your eyes to the sort of person he really was." She shakes her head. "And I'm sorry to hear your wedding not working out, but I hope you aren't blaming me for that, as well. I had nothing to do with it."
