The party sets off on the trip to Beliard, several hours away. However, as they get closer to it, they see something on the horizon...
"Smoke!" Savra cries. "Something must be wrong!" Sure enough, as they approach the town, they see it wreathed in flames. Dozens of strange people, glowing with fire energy, fill the town. Some are fighting with townspeople, defending their town with weapons or magic. Others chase down and kill citizens or set buildings ablaze.

Iroas sighs. Deep down, he knew this is what they were going to find, but there's no time to wallow in misery over it. He kicks his hippogriff into a higher speed, to reach the town faster to help.

As the party lands, four of the cult turn to face them. Two warriors, dressed in flaming armor, a priest, and an elemental.
"Reinforcements! Kill them!" the priest cries.

"I got the warriors!" Rada calls out as she moves in to attack the first one while activating her rage with another angry like scream.

"Let me guess, you worship some false god of fire and believe that burning the world to cinder will somehow work out for you as long as you don't think too hard about it?" Iroas asks as he approaches the priest, mace in one hand and his icon in the other. "Then let's see how your god does against mine." Calling upon Ilmater's power, he summons forth a cadre of angelic spirits to protect him.

Iroas will cast Spirit Guardians on himself and move toward the priest.

"Aww, man, how did you know?" one of the warriors groans, before the priest slaps him.
"You've been spending too much time with the followers of Olhydra, haven't you?" she sneers, as Rada rushes at the first warrior, charged with lightning. While he takes some damage from the storm aura, he blocks her heavy blows with his shield. "Our god, Imix, offers us a simple pact--same as the one you made with your god--serve him and become powerful!" She blasts three bolts of flaming energy at him, only one of which manages to penetrate his heavy armor. To the elemental, she gestures to him and says, "Kill this meddling cleric," voice dripping with disgust.
It obeys, rushing towards Iroas and setting the ground ablaze as it does. It only manages to touch Iroas' skin for a few seconds, but even that is enough to cause him excruciating pain as he, too, is engulfed in flame. Gritting his teeth, he casts a spell, a brilliant light shining out of him. His spirit guardians return, and the cultists look nervous at the sight of them. However, their worry is reduced when they see how badly injured the priest is. "Let him die to the flame," the priest commands. "And focus your attacks on their warriors!"
Migor suddenly falls to the ground, begging and pleading for mercy. Everyone is confused at first, but Savra soon gets the message. She dashes forward with her sword, and strikes distracted warrior with a pair of quick blows. Furiously, he and the other cultist set their swords ablaze and strike at their attackers. However, Savra manages to dodge his attacks, and Rada is barely injured despite the blade and the tongues of fire.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Rada rages, targeting Eternal Flame Guardian 1 with her Storm Aura. He fails, taking 4 lightning damage. She then attacks Guardian 1 with her greataxe, missing twice. Hestal casts Scorching Ray, targeting Iroas with all 3 attacks. Two miss, one hits for 7 fire damage. The Fire Elemental makes two attacks against Iroas. It hits twice for 9 and 11 fire damage. Iroas is now on fire! (He takes 1d10 fire damage at the start of his turn until a creature uses an action to douse the fire.) Iroas takes 10 fire damage. He then casts Spirit Guardians. Migor moves 10 ft towards the Guardians and uses his Grovel ability. Savra attacks Eternal Flame Guardian 2 twice with advantage (Grovel). She hits twice for 6 and 4 slashing damage. Eternal Flame Guardians 1 and 2 save against Spirit Guardians. They fail and take 12 radiant damage. They both use their Flaming Weapon ability to wreath their longsword in flame. Guardian 1 attacks Rada twice, hitting twice for 3/2 = 2 and 8/2 = 4 slashing damage, and 5 and 2 fire damage. Guardian 2 attacks Savra twice, missing twice.

Within seconds, Iroas went from hale to nearly dead on his feet. His entire body ached from the fire, and there was no time to do anything before the enemy finished him off. At least this time, he had a few precious seconds to see his death coming. With no other options, he shouted out to the others, "Get out of here! Rada, take care of Lady Savra! I'll buy whatever time I can!" Trying to put out the fire on him, he calls upon Ilmater's power, perhaps for the last time, to protect him from harm, hopefully long enough for the others to escape and survive.

Despite Iroas' cries for her to run, Rada unleashes a barrage of attacks on her opponent, distracted by Migor. Shocked by her lightning and bloody from axe wounds, he slumps to the ground, dead. The priest is assaulted by the Spirit Guardians, but she shrugs them off in her rage. Cackling, she casts another scorching ray spell, targeting the two warriors and the injured cleric. By some miracle, however, Iroas dodges the spell, even as Rada and Savra are hit by the flames.
The Fire Elemental, too, fails to consider Iroas a threat. It instead rushes at Rada, burning her exposed skin until it chars. Iroas feels the pain of the fire on him, and by the time he extinguishes it, he feels like he's an inch from death. Still, he manages to cast a spell of protection on himself, despite losing focus on his Spirit Guardians. Migor blasts the other cult warrior with a shot of fire. While he doesn't seem too bothered by the heat, he still winces at the blow.
Savra also assaults him, with two strikes of her longsword. While he manages to block one blow, the other swing strikes him in the chest with a huge amount of power, leaving him badly injured. Noting that Iroas is no longer in danger of imminent death, he raises his crossbow to finish him off. However, the shimmering aura around Iroas glows, and his fingers tremble. He lowers his weapon, unable to pull the trigger.
"Fool!" the priest says to herself. "As a long as a cleric draws breath, they're a threat!" She begins to casts another spell--a spell with an immense amount of power. The look in her eye is one of pure rage and hate; hate that cares for nothing more than seeing the object of its loathing destroyed.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Rada targets Guardian 1 with her Storm Aura. He fails and takes 6 lightning damage. Then, she attacks him twice with Advantage (Grovel, Cower, and Beg), hitting twice for 15 and 10 slashing damage. Guardian 1 dies! Hestal fails her Wisdom Save and takes 10 radiant damage from Spirit Guardians. She casts Scorching Ray, targeting Iroas, Rada, and Savra. She misses Iroas, hits Rada for 9 fire damage, and hits Savra for 5 fire damage. Fire Elemental fails its Wisdom Save and takes 10 radiant damage from Spirit Guardians. It attacks Rada twice. It crits for 14 fire damage and hits for 9 fire damage. Rada is set on fire. Iroas takes 8 fire damage. He fails his concentration check and Spirit Guardians ends. He then extinguishes the fire and casts Sanctuary. Migor casts Fire Bolt on Guardian 2. He hits for 9/2 = 5 fire damage. Savra makes two attacks on Guardian 2. She hits for 11 slashing damage, then misses. Guardian 2 attacks Iroas with his crossbow. He fails his Wisdom Save against Sanctuary and loses his attack.

Somehow still alive, Iroas focuses all of his energy into trying to heal everyone before he drops. There's nothing he can do to stop the priest, he can only hope Rada can reach her in time.
