"Welcome" Ryan replies. He then decides it is time for lunch. He heads for the Lonely Pony instead of home.

Ladonna and Rivi (Lonely Pony Tavern) "You are sweet to say so, cher," Gerald replies. "Perhaps some day I can add more songs to my repertoire for a change, if the people of this burg ever open their minds."
As they are speaking, the door opens and Ryan McIntyre enters. He is one of the acolytes of Gonto that work at the local temple, as well as an apprentice mage.
Ryan McIntyre (Lonely Pony Tavern) It is around 9 AM by the time Ryan arrives at the Lonely Pony, so they are still serving breakfast there. Run by Rebekah Gibert for the locals, the Lonely Pony is a tidy establishment, containing a bar, stage, some trestle tables set up in the center of the common area, and a dozen booths along the walls. Each booth has an archway for an entry, and curtains can be drawn across these archways for privacy. Not surprisingly, the booths are ideal for the discussion of private business. The stage is used on market days by a musicians’ troupe, and is otherwise the home stage of Gerald Chanteur, a minstrel. The bill of fare tends to vary from season to season, although breads, stews, and roast hawk are usually available. Generally, patrons are charged per meal rather than per item, the cost for a typical lunch and supper being three silvers and seven silvers, respectively, not including drinks. Beverages include wine, ale (brewed by Shanson Frye at the Shady Oak), mead, and goat’s milk, for the same prices as the Buho Inn (the two businesses have the same suppliers).
Rebekah is there now, tending to the bar. Gerald sits at the bar, speaking with Ladonna and Rivi. Ladonna is a human woman who works there as a waitress, and is daughter of the sergeant of the watch. Rivi is a half-elf bastard who lives alone and works here as a cook. Liala, a young elven woman, waits tables.
The delectable smell of breakfast fills the room, despite the windows all being open to let in a cool breeze. There are four locals present, all human, of course. Anara Dinan sits alone in the back, eating breakfast. She is one of two druids in the village and is responsible for helping with the crops and keeping the protective hedge wall up. She doesn't socialize much, so Ryan knows little about her.
The other three are sitting together, talking and eating. One is Ser Derica Walls, the reeve. She's in charge of the village's defenses and leads the militia. The second one is Lantrin Locke, the town's cooper and wheelwright. The third is Paul Locke, Lantrin's 17 year old son and a member of the militia.

Ryan moves to the bar and takes a stool a spot down, he doesn't want to crowd anybody. "Good Morning, breakfast and milk please." He settles in, listens in on the chatter and waits for food, his tummy rumbling just a bit.

Ladonna, Rivi and Ryan (Lonely Pony Tavern) "Morning, acolyte," Rebekah replies. She steps into the back kitchen for a moment.
As he waits, Gerald resumes his conversation with Rivi and Ladonna. "Did you hear about Summerhill? I got word from a merchant passing through the other day. It's a village in the northwest, in the Highland region. The peasants revolted and the knights had to put it down. The word is this was the work of the Equalists."
Rebekah returns with a plate of food for Ryan, including sausage, black pudding, fried eggs and baked beans and sets it in front of him. She also includes a glass of the 'virtuous white liquor' or as it is known in the more informal vernacular, 'milk.' The delectable smell fills the room, despite the cool breeze blowing in from the open windows. "That'll be three silvers," she tells him.
Meanwhile, the reeve is having a conversation with the cooper and his son. The druidess is nearly finished with her meal and beckons Liala over to take her plate.

"Buho is a slow changing place," Ladonna comments thoughtfully. "Which means that the people are slow to change as well. There are a few of us that like change. Well, depending on the circumstances of course." Ladonna didn't want to comment on the sudden change about her having to pay rent to stay in her own home. That was a change she didn't like, but she didn't want to dwell on it right now.

Ladonna, Rivi and Ryan (Lonely Pony Tavern) Gerald looks a bit put off that both of them outright ignored the sweet bit of gossip he just offered, so just shrugs it off and starts packing pipeweed into his pipe idly.
"I'm curious, but what exactly is your plan, Rivi?" asks Rebekah. "Where will you go, exactly?"

"Did anyone find out why they revolted?" Ladonna asks. "Or did they just put them down, and then blame it on the Equalists?" She then looks back to Rivi. "How does leaving achieve your goal of owning your own tavern?" she asks curiously.

Ladonna, Rivi and Ryan (Lonely Pony Tavern) "Who can say where the truth lies?" Gerald asks rhetorically. "Maybe the nobles just used them as an excuse, or maybe there really was a revolt. Such things happen. Those with power will always do whatever it takes to keep power."
Rebekah shakes her head. "The Equalists are just making everything worse for the people they claim to be fighting for. The crown is against them, the gentry are against them...I heard recently the church has vowed to wipe them out, as well. They say the Enforcers are starting an inquisition against them, and any village found harboring them will be wiped out. If the Equalists actually care about people, they'll give up before anyone else gets killed."

rivi thought on what to do next or where to go "im not sure where to go. iv just started planning and haven't gotten farther than i need a team i can trust. as to how i plan to make the gold i need, well its been said adventuring can be quite lucrative" then about the revolt "well conflict is never good but the Equalists fight for a cause they believe in. that they would turn to violence means there is some strife to fight for. where theirs smoke theirs fire. i just wish they did it in a way that doesn't require so much blood shed a revolt would cause. then again just like people in power protecting it vigilantly, there are people who want to take power just as badly...so who knows not i that's for sure."

Ryan doesn't say anything as he thoughtfully eats his breakfast. But eventually can't keep his mouth. "The revolt must be crushed, the Equallists will just sow seeds of discontent." He pauses, surprised, almost, about what came out of his mouth.

Ladonna leans forward a bit so that she can actually get a good look at Ryan. "So, then, I'm going to guess you don't think their cause is a just cause?" she asks curiously.

Ladonna, Rivi and Ryan (Lonely Pony Tavern) "Just or not, it's not a fight they can win," Gerald interjects. "Even if they could kill every noble in the world, then who would lead us? The Equalists themselves? Then they become the new nobles. Such is the way with every revolution. Such is the nature of humanity, no?"
"I just hope they leave well enough alone," Rebekah adds. "How many people have to die until they feel like it's enough?"

Rivi listened carefully then replayed "yes the blood shed as of a revolt rarely ends in any change but whether change needs to happen is a different story" he starches in his seat "not everyone is in a position to be treated fairly and how that should change iv no idea. i do think the killing on both sides is pointless"

"Well, there are plenty of other ways to achieve their goals, peacefully," Ladonna finally says. She finishes off her breakfast. "The peaceful route tends to take a little longer though."
