Picture this: a seafaring game with a recurring antagonist: a necromancer pirate who plunders ships with a skeleton crew.

That's cute. But just a head's up, Johannas does not have Dust Devil memorized. He has a couple of Summon Insects left, and three CLWs left.

Oh...in that case, Insect Swarm on the leader. That spell is incredible at incapacitating powerful enemies.

I'm happy to report how well this game is on track. I think a good pacing for a pbp game is 10 pages in a month, and lo and behold, here we are a month into this chapter, and we're at 10 pages (almost 11). So good job, all. Let's see if we can reach 20 pages by early August.

Just waiting on Gravity, and then we'll probably be wrapping things up next round, or possibly the one after that, depending on how things go.

Rax part of the question in regards to the stashed items Jaeron's items listed as stashed in his room was for the original ship he was on I have been treating it as if he does not have those items as they were not with him when he was thrown off the ship in all honestly i have no real idea of what exactly he does have in his possession aside from his mace and possibly the items he was wearing his warhammer firearm i am not sure he has along with any usable ammo as he was at one stage underwater a lot.

The captain's quarters is the only private room. The rest of the crew bunk together in the crew quarters, which is below deck next to the cargo hold. It's one big room with multiple hammocks. The party has been sleeping there, presumably.
The only things Jaeron left behind on the Tiaru were his small chest (which contained 9 SP and 2 GP) and his large chest (which contained two vests, a belt, soft boots, two tunics, breeches, two pairs of gloves, a pair of pantaloons, a good cloth cloak, a silk jacket, a fishing net (10' sq.), a bucket, a hooded lantern, fifteen lamp oil flasks, five vials of holy water, a footman's mace, and a medium shield. Everything he was wearing and in his backpack or belt pouches, he still has with him.

Ok so the mace he got from fighting the slavers must have been someone elses mace then? But that means I do actually have the warhammer firearm but is the firearm usable with the powder and ammo?

I think he got the mace from Talinda. Or her corpse, that is.
As for the musket and powder, they've long since dried out by now and I assume he's taken the time to clean out the musket during the downtime, so they should be functional again now.

Because I had honestly thought he didn't have it, or if he did the warhammer part was the only functional part after the underwater "events". But yes as meticulous as Jaeron is he would have certainly dried things, clean the weapon and oiled it if possible.

How secret is the undersea war that Kalana's referring to? In Imrich's background, I established that his family are arms merchants and moneylenders and that they do extensive business with the merfolk kingdoms around Immerfort. Is it likely that Imrich already knows about the war and what it's about or who's winning and losing?

The war isn't a secret at all, but few surface dwellers know about it because it's mostly self-contained in the Mer kingdoms, so nobody really cares. But as you say, your character has ties to the Mer kingdoms so he probably knows a bit more than the average person. So here's the scoop: The war started about two years ago, and nobody seems to have a clear idea of how it started, exactly. Each race has a different story. The undine say the sahuagin struck first, the sahuagin say the tritons struck first, the tritons say the ixitxachitl struck first, etc.
Regardless of how it started, it is not going particularly well for anyone. The various merfolk races are on the verge of mutual annihilation at least report. It's a full blown battle royale, and every single merfolk race seems to be involved in it, in one way or another. Nobody even seems to know why everyone is fighting, beyond self-defense. It's particularly strange, as there has been relative peace among the merfolk for a long time, outside a few border skirmishes here and there. And then out of nowhere, full blown world war, and nobody seems to know why or how. They just know that they must fight, or risk the extinction of their people.
Speaking of strange, the sahuagin's behavior was rather odd, at that. First, they seemed more interested in grabbing food and running, but they usually love to fight. Instead of just attacking outright as one might expect, the chieftain appeared first and tried to negotiate (well, intimidate into surrendering, really), almost as if he were reluctant to lose even a single soldier in the raid if he didn't have to. Sahuagin are also notorious terrified of sorcery and mages, but even upon seeing Bayla's spells, they remained focused on their mission at hand. All of this suggests things are getting pretty desperate for them.

Daos It's my understanding that most sailing ships would be carrying some supplies for basic (or at least makeshift) repairs. As everyone in the crew is an experience sailor, wouldn't it be possible for us to make some temporary repairs to the damaged deck? GreyWolfVT If Jaeron happens to have any more healing spells prepared, Imrich could stand some magical healing. He lost 12 HP in the fight.

Yes I do believe Jaeron has healing spells I don't recall having to use any yet. So absolutely he will heal Imrich
