"We are already dead! We go into battle to reclaim our lives!"
New expansion for STO coming out soon. They got a bunch of voice actors from DS9, too.

Unfortunately, I kinda fell out with Star Trek Online once I learned that new bridge officer slots had to be paid for. The somewhat repetitive missions and the lag I could live with, but not being able to expand my crack team of space officers was the last straw. For me, at least.

The first eight bridge officer slots are free. I've never needed more than 8, even with tier 6 ships.
Even then, the extra slots only cost 2 for $2.50. And sometimes they do free giveaways, like during their anniversaries or other special events.

They are? Huh.
I guess I was a bit miffed that I couldn't use all the Bridge Officers that I accidentally bought.

Yep. You start with 4 slots at the start, then get a new one at level 20, level 40, level 50 and level 60.
If you still have your inactive bridge officers, you can hold on to them until your slots are unlocked. You can add them to your candidate roster so they don't take up space in your inventory.

To be honest, I kind of just stopped having fun with STO. The constant crashes probably didn't help my opinion.

They released a new emote today in STO for April Fools Day.

Last year's gag was even better. They replaced all the sound effects with 'artisinal' sounds, which was just mouth noises. So basically the dev staff going 'pew pew.'

So, I have a bit of a problem. Using my Christmas money, I bought an Xbox One S. I've had it for several months now, and I'm feeling remarkably dissatisfied with it. I don't want to feel like such a big purchase was a waste of money, so I'm trying to find a game I really like for the Xbox (especially one not available for the Nintendo Switch) in order to validate it. What would you guys recommend?
(Note: As I am only 13, I am not allowed to play M rated games, and my parents are pretty strict about T rated games, so that also limits my options)

Never owned an Xbox of any kind before myself, so I can't offer much. Any particular genres you favor?

I particularly like fighting games, beat-em-ups, and whatever the Dynasty Warriors series is.

Here's what I've found: Robocraft Infinity is a Rated E game where you build custom robots and then fight other players' robots with them online. This is an indie game that just came out about a week ago. Way of the Passive Fist is a post-apocalyptic arcade brawler done in the style of a 90's cartoon. It is rated T for violence, though. (Note that although this is the PS4 trailer, it is found on XBO, too.) And then there's Dragon Ball Fighterz which has been quite popular so far. It is also Rated T for 'Cartoon Violence, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes.' Supposedly it's very fun, but the people I know who have said that are big Dragon Ball fans, so I'm not sure if that plays a factor in it or not. These are all just from this year so far. I'll try digging back further to see what else I can find.

One of my D&D groups disbanded because the GM got a new job with a wonky schedule and Snacs and I spent the last two weekends playing the new Magic the Gathering set so we're kind of burned out on that, which means I have some time to kill this weekend! I'm using it to play a game that came out a few months ago that three different friends have independently suggested; Doki Doki Literature club. It looks like a super cute dating sim, but before it will let you play it warns that it deals with deeply disturbing themes and is not appropriate for those who struggle with anxiety, depression or anyone under the age of 13. That leads me to believe this game is going to be dramatic, depressing and fatalistic - so pretty much exactly what I look for in my stories. Other than the opening warning I'm going into this completely unspoiled, though. Will let you all know what I think!

Never played it myself, but I'm familiar with it. I hear it's pretty trippy.
