Being bro tier is being a tier of friend that is more bro than other friends.
Typical attributes include being chill, lifting heavy things and distributing chest bumps.

I have a quick concern; the 2nd ed Player's Handbook and the Paladin's Handbook contradict subtly regarding Katya's aura of protection. The Player's Handbook says that it affects all summoned and "specifically evil creatures." The rules in the Paladin's Handbook differ in two ways; first it specifies that it affects evil opponents. Then it gives examples of opponents who would be affected and includes both - "monsters and characters whose alignments are lawful evil, neutral evil and chaotic evil"
and - "monsters and characters who have been charmed by evil casters or otherwise have been compelled to commit evil acts."
Both entries, however, specify that those affected by the aura recognize that the paladin is the source of the aura. Given our party composition the question of whether or not Katya's aura affects any evil character or just evil opponents is an important one to have answered before we go into combat. It also brings up a second question; the handbook specifies that "evil opponents experience the paladin's aura of protection as an unpleasant physical sensation, such as mild nausea, a prickling of the skin, a tightening of the throat or a sudden chill" ... does the opponent have to be engaged in combat to experience that? Or are people who are evil uncomfortable around Katya all the time?

The PHB also specifies that the aura affects evil creatures even when they are attacking someone else (as long as they are in the radius). This suggests that even if the paladin is holding still and not attacking, the aura is still active. It also states that they recognize the aura even if the paladin is in disguise, which also suggests it is active at all times, even when not in battle.
So I'd rule a character or creature of evil alignment would sense the aura if they enter it, regardless of whether combat was occurring or not.

Question about character mortality. As combat encounters are likely to occur in the next chapter, what is the policy regarding death of a character? I love the spice of possible death, it makes it all exciting. Do you allow us to rejoin the game as someone new?
I am suddenly a tad nervous...as I have built and roleplayed a brave and foolhardy warrior type.

So I'd rule a character or creature of evil alignment would sense the aura if they enter it, regardless of whether combat was occurring or not. I'm inclined to agree, but wanted to make sure it had been discussed before it was relevant. The question of whether it applies to everyone or exclusively to opponents still stands.

This being D&D, resurrection and raising and reincarnation are all possible, but at this level, unlikely. It's far beyond the power of the kohen, so one would need to send word to the capital or maybe Hart to find a cleric strong enough to do so, and even then it would be incredibly expensive. None of the party members are really important enough or rich enough to warrant it.
So yes, in all likelihood if a death occurs, it will be permanent and the player will need to roll a new character. But as the party is so large (9, including NPCs) and you have four possible healers, I'm not too worried. As for Jherek's recklessness, hopefully Katya can keep him in check.
Sorry, I guess I wasn't being clear enough. It affects everyone in the radius who is of evil alignment, regardless of whether they are ally, opponent or bystander.

Is that why Jherek blushes every time he sees Katya? Thanks Daos, I personally am a huge fan of character deaths...so much RP potential!

To be clear, though, nobody in the party is currently of Evil alignment. Some of you have committed evil acts in the past. Some of you are leaning in the direction of evil (maybe even teetering at the precipice), and some of you may, one day, become Evil. But as of right now, nobody has crossed over to that alignment just yet. Sure, just ask HorizonsDream. She's lost a few characters over the years in my games.
