[The holy symbol is wrong in the second image. Ignore that, and pretend it's an open book instead of a lion-looking thing -- finding images for a scholar-priest was hard, and this was the best I could come up with.]

Priests of Gilean get a +1 bonus on all NWP checks, and one extra NWP slot per level of experience.
Scholar Priests can spend weapon proficiency slots on NWPs instead.
They also receive a +3 reaction bonus from other scholars, admirers of scholastic concerns, writers, journalists,
and people who imagine they are scholars.
On a reaction check with another scholar, the DM rolls 1d6. A result of 1 gives the PC a reaction adjustment of -6
instead of the above +3 bonus, indicating an argument or disagreement between the scholars.

Starting Money: 400 gp (or steel pieces?)
[EDIT: I'm going to assume steel pieces, since Sebastian is coming from Krynn.]
[ According to
this, 5 steel = 100 silver = 200 gold = 500 copper.
Equivalently, 1 steel = 20 silver = 40 gold = 100 copper. ]

Wonderous Items:
I'm keeping my wonderous items a secret from the other players...it just seemed more fun that way
I hope that's okay?
Ring of Truth (1000 XP, Table 91 in the DMG)
"There is little doubt that wearing a ring of truth is a mixed blessing. The wearer can detect any lie told to him, but he is unable to tell any falsehood himself. If the wearer tries to tell a lie, he finds himself speaking the literal truth instead. On the plus side, the wearer is able to discern the last lie told by another -- in fact, the power of the ring causes the voice of the liar to rise to a falsetto.
If the wearer of the ring encounters magic that enables falsehoods to be spoken without detection (such as an undetectable lie spell or a philter of glibness), no lie is detected. However, the ring wearer will find himself unable to hear the voice of the person so influenced, whether or not he is trying to listen. This, of course, reveals the lie indirectly."
Girdle of Many Pouches (1000 XP, Table 99 in the DMG)
"This broad waistband seems to be nothing more than a well-made article of dress. However, if magic is detected for, the item will radiate strong enchantment along with a fainter aura of alteration.
Examination will reveal that the girdle has eight small pouches on its inner surface. In fact, there are a total of 64 magical pouches in the girdle, seven others 'behind' each of the eight apparent ones. Each of these pouches is similar to a miniature bag of holding, able to contain up to one cubic foot of material weighing as much as 10 pounds. The girdle responds to the thoughts of its wearer by providing a full pouch (to extract something from) or an empty one (to put something in) as desired. Naturally, this item is greatly prized by spellcasters, for it will hold components for many spells and make them readily available."
I listed a regular girdle and eight belt pouches in my gear list above, but that's just to avoid cluing the other players in to the existence of my GoMP.
So my starting money should actually be 11 steel pieces higher than listed, and my weight ought to be
8 lbs. lighter.
[Actually, once I factor in that he's storing everything he can in the Bag of Holding-like pouches of the GoMP, the only weight that actually counts towards his encumbrance is from the stuff that doesn't fit (everything bigger than 1 cubic foot or heavier than 10 lbs.): backpack (2 lbs.), hemp rope (20 lbs.), and winter blanket (3 lbs.).
So the actual weight he's carrying, by my math, is a mere 25 lbs.]
Also, I listed the ring as "Ring, Silver-banded (adorned with topaz)", and I left out its listed value in my equipment cost tabulation. Anybody paying attention could deduce from that that the ring is magical, I guess, but they'd have no idea what it does
APPEARANCE:
Sebastian possesses a round, soft face, framed by long, usually unkempt brown hair. Round-rimmed spectacles sit atop his nose in front of brown eyes. He typically wears an embroidered gray robe, the customary garb of clerics of Gilean, with a medallion bearing Gilean's symbol -- an open book -- hanging from his neck. He sometimes wears a long-sleeved tunic of white cotton, with leather breeches and a brown leather vest, when his priestly garments are impractical. Regardless of which outfit he's wearing, there's always a thick leather girdle around his waist supporting numerous pouches. The pack he carries is usually stuffed with as many books and scrolls as he can fit within it.
PERSONALITY:
Sebastian is a perpetually nervous young man who tends to be quiet and shy -- almost painfully so -- around people he doesn't know. Even in the company of his friends, he's often reserved, preferring to listen to others speak until he feels he has something worth contributing. When he does have relevant information to offer, though, it pours out of his mouth in a semi-articulate stream of what less-educated folks might mistake for babble.
As someone who suffers from what we might call an anxiety disorder, there have been numerous occasions in the past when he has been accused of cowardice (with some justification). This is something he's been working on improving about himself for some time -- he worries a lot about what other people think about him -- but progress on this front has been glacially slow.
