Okay. We'll say she's Faithless...and from Neverwinter, which explains how she heard about the job.
I think that should cover it. We can start chapter 1 tomorrow then!

I think i shall go with the point buy system. I'm thinking a Dragonborn or Half-Orc Ranger.
Went with Dragonborn (Blue) Ranger (Soldier) Undead (Favored Enemy) Mountains (Terrain) Male
STR 14 +2 Racial Adj. = 16 DEX 13 CON 14 INT 11 WIS 12 CHA 9 +1 Racial Adj. = 10
Nature, Stealth & Survival (Proficiencies)

Okay, sounds good. We haven't had a Dragonborn since NotARobot dropped out. And I haven't seen what rangers can do yet, so that should be interesting.
Got an alignment yet?
EDIT: Oh, I should point out, that at no point in this module do any quests take the party into the mountains. He can have mountains as his primary terrain, but I thought you should know that it probably won't come up. (I can tell you that the party will most likely be in grasslands and forests, though.)

Name: Balasar Norixius Neutral Good alignment. Height 6'5" Weight 290 lbs; skin blue dragon scales; Age 26; eyes Gold it's 5d4 for starting coin correct? I didn't want to select "underdark" so that it was specific to this game I tried to go with a terrain just in general not specific to what i thought this game might be set in. Personality TraitsI can stare down a hell hound without flinching. I face problems head-on. A simple, direct solution is the best path to success. IdealsLive and Let Live. Ideals aren’t worth killing over or going to war for. (Neutral) Greater Good. Our lot is to lay down our lives in defense of others. (Good) BondsMy honor is my life. Those who fight beside me are those worth dying for. FlawsI made a terrible mistake in battle that cost many lives—and I would do anything to keep that mistake secret. I’d rather eat my armor than admit when I’m wrong.

Yeah, you can have 5d4x10 starting gold and use that to buy your starting equipment or just take the gear that comes with your class and background which is:
Ranger (a) scale mail or (b) leather armor (a) two shortswords or (b) two simple melee weapons (a) a dungeoneer’s pack or (b) an explorer’s pack A longbow and a quiver of 20 arrows
Soldier
An insignia of rank, a trophy taken from a fallen enemy (a dagger, broken blade, or piece of a banner), a set of bone dice or deck of cards, a set of common clothes, and a belt pouch containing 10 GP.

I'll take the gear rather than deal with money and buying stuff. Here are my choices i am selecting below:
(a) scale mail (b) two simple melee weapons Hand Axe and a Light Hammer
(b) an explorer’s pack
A longbow and a quiver of 20 arrows
piece of a banner deck of cards a set of common clothes, and a belt pouch containing 10 GP.

Okay, then all I need is:
His patron deity. A brief description of his appearance and personality. His backstory.

Okay, then all I need is:
His patron deity. A brief description of his appearance and personality. His backstory. Which lists of Deities are you going with from the PHB? There were forgotten realms, and other realm deities listed. Or are they all open to select from? Description: 6' 5" blue dragon scales and golden eyes a sort of mopy dreadlock like long hair, and a short beard with a intimidating look but that's natural for a dragonborn, dressed a bit like a swashbuckling pirate makes him a bit of an oddity for a ranger. Personality: He protects those who fight by his side, but as a soldier that was partially trained into him. He'd rather eat his armor than admit when he is wrong so don't expect if he is wrong to say anything other than growl, or scowl and continue on the task with not a word. He wont argue over religion each to their own is his mind about it all, difference in religious belief and opinions is not worth dying over. Taking things head on is his general approach rather than overthinking about it. He could stare down a hellbeast without flinching. Above all he believes in protecting and defending others. I'm still working on a backstory of sorts.

Yes, the game takes place in Forgotten Realms in the year 1481 DR. So post-Spellplague.

Yes, the game takes place in Forgotten Realms in the year 1481 DR. So post-Spellplague. Ok so Lathander doesn't work since he vanished after the end of the spellplague. But he returned after the second sundering so is he safe to select? Otherwise I was contemplating Gwaeron Windstrom. Though it says he is a demigod not a true deity but he does have followers/worshippers. If neither of those work then Selûne.

Lathander is out (the Second Sundering hasn't occurred yet), but Amaunator is basically filling in for him (and might even be him, depending on who you ask). Gwaeron Windstrom and Selune are both fine, too.

Since there is some mention of Selune and dragonborn on the forgotten realms wiki I think I'll choose Selune.
Backstory:
Having heard the stories of Sulune helping the dragonborn Balasar Norixius decided Selune to be his deity. At a young age Balasar decided to join a mercenary group to help fight off evil & chaos and protect innocent folk. However in his service he did learn honor, patience, comradery, he also learned from a mistake facing a terrible foe with his fellow mercenary men-at-arms he made the mistake of overthinking a situation and some good folk were slain that day. He has not forgotten his folly and now takes things head on and tries to learn from his mistakes, he knows well enough not to start idle fights over differences of religion, politics or other opinions and beliefs. Each to their own is his motto for the most part. Save for anything or anyone evil, that would do harm to others, those are the types Balasar knows to fight, hunt down and turn in or fight to the death. However after his time serving with the mercenary band they eventually parted ways and Balasar decided to take up another path in life, following Selune, and enjoying the mountains and being a tracker or scout he decided to train as a ranger in the sunset mountains. Being that the last place his mercenary band was located was Berdusk. Eventually being in his nature as a ranger to travel Balasar made his travels to places such as Neverwinter and Waterdeep never staying in the cities themselves typically staying in cabins closer to the woods and mountains. Eventually the stories of a lost mine drew his attention enough that he decided to set out and see what truth he could find to these stories.

Is that good or do you want more information for the backstory?
