So, Tieren has now officially been missing a month, and on top of that, he's currently over at GitP, trying to join some new games, so I think it's pretty safe to say he's not coming back.
However, I will continue to NPC Klaxon for the rest of this chapter, at least, so the party has a little extra support while we wait for Balasar to level up and catch up with the others. Then I'll probably drop the character from the party.

Well, the good news is, Xantin Rahl is active again over at GitP. So he's not dead or anything like that. The bad news is, guess this means he just silently dropped the game and likely isn't coming back. But it's been so long at this point, I've already retired his character anyway, so, oh well.

5 days of rations (-25 silver, +10 lbs) Backpack (-2 gold, +5 lbs) 10 arrows (-5 silver, +0.5 lbs)
2 days of rations (-10 silver, +4 lbs)
10 days of rations (-5 gold, +20 lbs) Backpack (-2 gold, +5 lbs)
I'll also have Zoya buy 5 days of rations and a potion of healing. And Iroas will just buy 3 days of rations.
=====================
And that ends chapter 4. I'll get XP up when I can, but I know for a fact that Balasar has hit level 2, so you can level him up now Greywolf, if you want.

Okay, XP is up. It was a short chapter, but the party skipped out on a lot of content in Thundertree (the zombies, the spiders, the cultists, the dragon). The only thing they faced were the twig blights, which are super weak--only CR 1/8, worth a mere 25 XP a piece (the random encounter with the owlbear was worth more than all the twig blights fought). But it was enough to level up Balasar, so there's that. The party is supposed to be level 4 by the time they reach the final dungeon, so hopefully you guys earn a lot of XP in Cragmaw Castle to help get you there.
Greywolf, let me know if you need any help leveling up Balasar. We can start the new chapter when he's ready to go. I need to level up Iroas, too. He hit level 2 right when he died, so I never bothered leveling him up. Here are my notes for the chapter:
Title and Theme The title of this chapter was Ruins of Thundertree, and that was pretty self-explanatory.
Owlbear The owlbear was a random encounter, and had me worried there as it took down Zoya, the tank, in one blow. I thought we were heading for a TPK, and was racking my brain to come up with some plausible way to avoid that. None of Klaxon's prepared spells were of any use. Luckily, Zoya rolled a nat 20 on her death save, allowing her to wake up.
Skipping the Zombies Remember the old tavern where Balasar and Orianna really nailed all of their stealth rolls, but found nothing? Well, that was why. The place had a bunch of zombies hidden in it (behind counters, under tables, etc.) but Orianna and Balasar were so quiet, the zombies never woke up, and so there was no encounter.
Klaxon's Departure It was becoming obvious that Tieren is not coming back, especially as he is now active at other games now over at GitP. So I needed to get rid of his character. But the problem was, we're too late into the module to recruit anyone else at this time. And the party needs a fifth, especially as some of the party are under-leveled at this point because of all the drop-outs. I thought about creating a new NPC, but then remembered an old one I could use...
Return of Iroas I had no intention of bringing Iroas back to life initially, but it was a good solution. He's someone the party (well, half of them) already knows, he starts at level 2 instead of 1 (he leveled up right before dying), and I don't have to create an entirely new NPC to fill that fifth slot. Plus, I did become rather fond of him in the short time I got to play him.

I selected hunters mark and cure wounds. I selected two weapon fighting style. Now I just need to roll for up correct?

So you're taking his second level in ranger then? Then yes, that covers everything but the HP. You can roll 1d10+2 or just take 8 (6+2) as the default. But if you roll, you have to take whatever you get.
