He examines the arrow, but there is no way to tell how long ago the horses died by inspecting the arrow itself. He'll need to inspect the horses instead. All I was going for with this was -- if the horse's blood was still warm, they would've had to have been killed quite recently. Given that you're saying Djandaar was unable to learn anything from studying the arrow, I'm going to assume this wasn't the case and the horses have been dead at least long enough for their corpses to reach thermodynamic equilibrium with the ambient temperature. EDIT: Also, rolling over instead of under to succeed on an ability check is going to take some getting used to...the 2e way of doing things is thoroughly burned into my brain.

Where on the map is Fosco centering that spell? It has a range of 90' and an AoE of 20'.

He centers it around himself.

He centers it around himself. Can I make an amendment? I realize it would be much easier to deal with the ones closer to us first, and I, for some reason, thought that there were 3 close to us, rather than two. So, I will instead center it around Djandaar the space 15 ft to the right of Djandaar.

Okay. I wasn't going to say anything, because if you had centered on yourself, it would have affected Nuke's character, too. And as he hasn't logged in for 5 days, it would have been a good explanation for his character not participating.

Actually, it says creatures you choose within a 20-foot radius, so I could keep my allies from being hit by the spell.

Not quite. Specifically, it says:
The thing you are choosing is the point (or center) of the spell, not the actual beings within the AoE.
Besides, if you could just pick and choose which targets are or are not affected, why even include the rule about ascending order of HP?

Oh. OK.

There was a 45% chance that Djan was going to fail that third death save and die, so I thought I'd have Iroas take action.

It took me awhile to research it. That spell does not exist in 2E. Ranged healing, what a concept.

It took me awhile to research it. Really? The list of first-level spells that clerics get access to isn't that long. Surely you glanced over it when you made this NPC? That spell does not exist in 2E. Ranged healing, what a concept. Somewhat-related nitpick/rant: one of the things 2e did right was arranging spells by spell level. Why did WotC move away from that?? Anyone who disagrees, come fight me

Glanced over them, sure. I didn't memorize them.
And yeah, I do find it annoying that spells are listed alphabetical instead of by spell level.

"Exactly, Orianna," Fosco says. "Fortunately, I cast a spell to make two of them over here fall asleep. They should be un-" To his surprise, both of the goblins were very dead. He stares disapprovingly at his sorcerer comrade. "Did you slit their throats, Djandaar?" So I had originally written that Djandaar would slit both goblins' throats after combat finished, but Daos narrated it as him just killing the one (bolded emphasis mine): Djan, who just woke up, has no idea what is happening. He sees Iroas fighting a goblin. So were goblins what ambushed them? He never saw any of the battle, he just remembers an arrow hitting him from the brush and then going down. He is unsure of what happened to whoever shot them. Were they dead? Escaped? They weren't shooting any more arrows, at least. But he plods northward and searches the brush nevertheless. There, he finds another goblin. He's not dead, but rather seems to be sleeping. How did that happen? Shrugging it off, he slits the throat of the goblin.I'm content with the interpretation that Djandaar, being interrupted after killing the first sleeping goblin but before the second, paused to debate the merits of tying them up versus permanently dispatching them with Iroas.
