how about we try a tactic i recall from some ancient history the shield bearers move forward the the archers come in behind them then the shield bearers kneel and the archers fire at the enemy?

So...you can’t actually see dice rolls on mobile. You can see what dice were rolled, but not the actual results. That makes it a bit hard to ask to use rerolling abilities....

Fair point; I went to the source of the app to see if there's been any work on fixing that, but it hasn't received an update in three years, so I guess not.
Best I can think to say is to add a contingency in your post if it's an important roll. Like, "I want to reroll this if it fails" or something like that.

didn't realize i was targeting a dead hobgoblin as the map had the H# in black assuming that meant alive and Red means dead so my bad.

Correct, black means alive, red means dead. H2 is red, so is dead.
