"It helps us evade the goblins that are guarding that dam. They don't know what is going on, so it is best to just avoid them all together. As for the goblins we are going to be facing later...well I don't see why we can't rest a little bit before facing them," Orianna says.

"I am not certain I understand how that avoids them, but I trust you have some kind of plan in mind," Iroas says. He puts his back to the tunnel wall and slides down into a seating position. "As for the rest, I will take you up on that offer."

"Wait," Orianna says. "He said that Klarg is on the eastern side of the cave, so we aren't leaving," she says with a shake of her head. "Yeah, we are going to have to face goblins. You just aren't in any condition to be in front of all of us."

The party sits and waits for about half an hour, while Iroas removes his armor, patches himself up, and then redons his gear. He seems better off now. "So, what's the plan for engagement?" he asks, getting to his feet.

Iroas takes a short rest and regains (1d8+1): 3+1 = 4 HP. Iroas improves to moderately wounded.

"Well, considering how injured we are, we might have to get a little creative," Orianna says. "Like I said earlier, we can try to talk to the goblins on the other side, but we don't know which side of this leadership dispute they are on. We can just full on attack them, but that risks getting us more hurt. The other option is to use the magic that I know that some of you know to distract or fool them. I can even try to sneak in, and backstab maybe one of them, but I'll probably be caught after that."

Fosco scratches his chin and thinks for a minute. “What we need is way to communicate with them without revealing ourselves and without engaging in combat.” He turns to Iroas. “Iroas, do you still have that spell that lets you make your voice sound really loud?”

Iroas hesitates. "I'm not sure which spell you are referring to. If you mean Command, I do not have it prepared today," the cleric answers.

"What is it that you are thinking?" Orianna asks.

While waiting for Fosco to elaborate on his plan, Iroas says, "I think perhaps stealth will be the best way to go. It worked for us pretty well at the cave entrance."
"Bah, just march in there and kill them," Djan says. "They are merely goblins, after all. They are no real threat. Not to me, anyway."

"I was talking about that spell that some clerics use to do little divine...things," he elaborates. "Open unlocked doors and windows, make a little light thing, stuff like that. Of course, I could be misremembering."

Orianna completely ignores Djan at this point. "If I remember correctly, this bridge leads to some stairs, and I think there was one goblin standing there. I could easily take him out from behind. The others are further away, so Stealth isn't going to be much use there, but having one of their own suddenly die might surprise them, which will give you guys a chance to catch them off guard."

"That's a reasonable attack plan," Fosco counters. "But what if they're supporters of Yeemik? I don't want to kill people who might be on our side."

"I would assume that if they were Yeemik's followers, they would not currently be protecting Klarg," Iroas says. "Which actually means...we've already killed most of Yeemik's followers already." He shakes his head at the thought.

"Now really isn't the time to be blaming ourselves for something that we knew nothing about," Orianna points out. "Anyway, I'm going to start. You guys can follow behind, and attack after I take care of the goblin by the stairs." With that, Orianna rushes across the bridge in hopes of taking care of at least one of the other goblins.

Orianna sneaks forward, although the rushing sound of water easily drowns out any noise she might have made. Drawing an arrow back, she lets loose and it strikes the goblin standing near the south staircase in the neck, dropping him. The other two goblins stand in shock, completely caught off guard by what just happened.
=============
Orianna makes a stealth check against the goblins' passive perception [DC 9] (1d20+4): 11+4 = 15, pass. They do not sense her approach. Orianna fires her bow with advantage at Goblin Dam Guard 03 [AC 15] (1d20+4): 12+4 = 16, hit for (2d6+2): 4,6+2 = 12 damage. Goblin Dam Guard 03 dies.
(Goblins 01 and 02 remain surprised for this round. Fosco and the NPCs can make free attacks before combat proper begins. Click the map to enlarge. One square is equal to 5 feet.)
