"Oh, uh...I thought we could...oh, we can talk later then," Gilly says as he turns away. "Have fun!" she calls after him, although he's already half way across the room by that point. She returns to her chair, alone.

Ladonna reaches out and gently gives Katya a pat on the shoulder, and offers her a smile. "You'll figure this out," she assures the woman before she walks off.
She walks back into the inn, and rejoins her family through the crowd. "Sorry about that. Did I miss anything?"

Katya lingers in the stables a while longer, just like she said she would. She isn't as affected by the cold or the smell as Ladonna is. She isn't immune to them either, though; she makes her way back to the inn perhaps a dozen minutes later. She pauses when she comes through the door. Nearly the entire town was gathered within just a few hundred square feet. She takes a step to the side so that she is out of the way, leans against the wall and scans the crowd. Her gaze travels meticulously from right to left, not missing a face. Detect evil.

"Well, Ingot is over there with Myra," Lillian says, gesturing towards them. "but I haven't seen anybody else but you."

Ladonna Marche (Buho Inn, Common Room)"Oh, you haven't missed much," Felicia says as Ladonna sits back down. "We were just going over the details of my wedding to Relken. He's agreed to hold the ceremony here in Buho, where all my friends and family are. We're thinking we'll hold it in the spring, just after the weather has turned pleasant again. I've always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, after all." Katya (Buho Inn, Common Room) Trying to scan the souls of the entire population of the inn proves taxing. There are so many people here, and their souls almost bleed together in a cacophony of sins. Nobody is clean, and all that background radiation all together in one place gives Katya something of a headache. There are a few souls that stand out among the rest to her, though.
Silas Goff, the tailor, is sitting and speaking with Rebekah the tavernkeeper and council member. His soul is dark with greed.
Amanda Marche, Ladonna's mother, sits with her family. Her soul is ringed with envy woven with bitterness and even a bit of wrath.
The soul of Theron has grown darker since she last checked him. His greed and sloth have nearly doubled in strength.

"Wait. When was it decided that you would marry Relken?" Ladonna asks.

(OOC: Oh yeah, I forgot about spells last time! Let's go with Audible Glamour, Change Self, and Phantasmal Force.)
"Ingot? I'm pretty sure he took offense that time I asked him what he was made of -- which I maintain was a totally legitimate question, but whatever. I don't think it's a good idea for me to go say hi to him, in any case," Theron says to Lillian. "Why don't we go grab ourselves each a mug of Shanson's patented ale, then wander around and see if we can spot any of the others? I'll bet the humans showed up, at least...you know Ladonna and Ryan and Katya have all become pretty famous since our little adventure together, right? Figures, that they'd wind up with all the credit. Ah well, I won't hold it against them. Come on!"

"I prefer not to drink but I'll come along anyways," Lillian replies.

Katya closes her eyes for a moment, trying to shake away the sudden headache.
When she opens her eyes again she picks her way through the crowd towards Silas and Rebekah at a casual pace. It would be polite to say good morning,

Ladonna Marche (Buho Inn, Common Room) "Weeks ago," Felicia says, a bit surprised. "Didn't you know? Oh!" She covers her mouth. "Sorry, that's right. You were on that adventure against the Bloody Spear. Well, yes, Stenn withdrew because we couldn't reach an agreement and Jomar withdrew for...personal reasons. Relken was left by default. Although I don't mind. I think I like him best anyway."
"He doesn't have much coin, but he has a title, at least," Amanda adds. "It's a step up for Felicia, and the family."
Katya (Buho Inn, Common Room) Rebekah and Silas sit together, talking, as Katya approaches. Actually, it's more like Silas is doing all of the talking. Rebekah nods her head on occasion, sips her drink, and looks about the room absently throughout. Now and again, she yawns.
As she gets closer, she can start to make out what he is saying.
"...more efficient. The roads have grown dangerous, even to the capital, and this is largely due to the queen withdrawing the knights that used to protect the roads. I think it's worth discussing with the council at the next meeting, don't you think? Lower taxes means local businesses don't suffer that much due to these raids; sort of a cushion, if you will, to make the impact less harsh..."

"Good morning Rebekah. Mr. Goff." Katya greets the two with a smile and joins them at their table. "I didn't intend to eavesdrop, but were you discussing a solution to the bandit problem?"

"You couldn't have waited for me to come back to at least discuss it with me?" Ladonna asks her sister in mock disappointment.

With Lillian in tow, Theron makes his way through the crowded inn to Shanson Frye, from whom he buys a cold mug of ale. He then turns around and slowly scans the room as he sips his brew, collecting a thick mustache of foam above his upper lip.
"Is that-yeah, I think that's Katya over there," he says, gesturing across the room to the not-quite-noble-born paladin. "And she's...talking to Silas? Hmm..." He moves a few steps closer to them to minimize interference with his line-of-sight, then tries to read both their lips to figure out what's being said.

Ladonna Marche (Buho Inn, Common Room) "Oh, sorry, Ladonna, but there was really nothing to discuss," Felicia says apologetically. "Relken was the only candidate left, after all."
"Not that you would have had any say in things at all," Amanda adds. "You had your chance at a wedding."
Katya, Theron, and Lillian (Buho Inn, Common Room) The two look up at Katya when she speaks. "Err...do you know this woman, Councilwoman Gilbert?" Silas asks.
"No...but I know of her. You are Ser Waelnod's daughter, yes? Katya, was it?" asks Rebekah. Rebekah Gilbert is the youngest member of the council by far, at only 35 years old. Not only that, she only moved to Buho about five years ago. But somehow developed a reputation as an excellent businesswoman and negotiator and managed to secure a position on the council a year ago. She's a tall and slender woman with red hair and green eyes.
"Hmm...oh, right. The Bloody Spear thing. That was you?" Silas asks. Silas Goff is a heavy set man in his thirties, with brown eyes and brown hair. He, too, only moved to Buho around five years ago. He has a reputation of being savvy and worldly, and many of the people of Buho see him as a sort of 'urban elite' trying to bring his city values into Buho. "Yes, bandit attacks have grown worse of late. Mostly those damnable Wyld Boys, locally. But there are also the Lohman's Blades and the Equalists--some say those two have even joined forces recently--as well as the regular raids from goblins, orcs and the like. Why, at least a quarter of my shipments never make it these days."

"Yes, Sir" Katya confirms both her parentage and her involvement with the Bloody Spear.
"A quarter? That's awful. I'll admit, fear of bandits was one of the big reasons I began to study swordsmanship at all. The militia here have a practice of teaching pretty much anyone who wants to learn. The Battle of Buho taught us the value of armed citizenry before I was even born, but my concerns had been a great deal more mundane. It's just me, my mother and the Padners on our ranch after all."
"I know a little about the Wyld Boys. They have gotten more violent recently, which is terrifying. I have a bad feeling that will get worse before it gets better. I've never heard of Lohman's Blades before, though. From the name I assume some sort of mercenary group? Why would they be attacking caravans?"
