Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)"But aren't you also playing?" asks Acel. "So if you win...you get a night with...yourself?"
Mathias Blackcairn (Harbormaster's Office)The harbormaster laughs. "Fenedhis lasa! Alphabetical? What a useless format! But no, of course I don't expect you to search my logs. Nobody touches them but me. Besides, can you even read Elven? No, I will search them for the ship you are looking for, after I've received my payment."
Jaeron Dernfog (Temple of Obedience)The elf accepts the gemstone, gawking at it incredulously. "D-Donate? Oh, I see. An investment? Ma serannas, but are you sure? I can certainly use this to fix the place up a bit, and possibly put the word out to more people, but...I am not sure I can promise you'll see any return on your dividend..."
"As for help, I do not even know what to ask. Have you any advice on running this place?"
Johannas Barnsley (Temple of Octhanus)Johannas casts Cure Light Wounds on the man who is all beat up, and this instantly heals his injuries completely. Next, he casts Cure Moderate Wounds on the woman with the sprained ankle, and again, she is fully healed and able to walk again without hindrance. Finally, rather than use Cure Serious Wounds, he uses a Cure Light and a Cure Moderate together on the half-elf with the broken arm. The two lesser spells manage to mend his bone and return full use of his arm to him.
By the time the druid has finished these tasks, the crowd has largely dispersed as the clerics are now able to focus their own healing on the worst injured. Eventually, things quiet down a bit, and the three clerics are given the chance to rest a bit.
"Thank you for your assistance," the dwarf says to him. "Things don't usually get that hectic, but some days are busier than others."

"As for help, I do not even know what to ask. Have you any advice on running this place?" Jaeron smiles "I don't expect to see any return just to have it put to good use. As for running a church I have very little to say on that matter as I've never run one myself. Though appearance might help a little if the place looks better or heck if you can even find a more suitable building to move the church into that may be a good investment. Find a way to draw people in, something that gets their attention." the gnome offers as his best advice.

"A night with myself or I can just pick the second place winner," Kalana says. "Either works for me to be honest."

No, I will search them for the ship you are looking for, after I've received my payment." "Aye, there's the rub," Mathias explains. "I'd have to be pretty daft to pay you for a service that you might not even be in a position to provide, eh?" The dwarf calmly reaches across his chest with his right hand and draws his pistol, which he immediately points at the harbormaster's face. With his left, he reaches forward to seize the logbook. "I'm hereby confiscatin' this set of records under the Inter-Island Commercial Investigative Treaty of 1311. It will be returned to you after we've finished processin' it, though I'm afraid I can't definitely say when that will be. If it turns out to be relevant to the pursuit or arrest of the person I'm seekin', you'll be duly rewarded at that time." "Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a case to solve. Please remain seated and don't make any sudden movements -- you've no idea the kind of paperwork I got to do when I'm forced to shoot someone. Makes this old thing look like light readin'." Holding the pistol steady, Mathias slowly rises to his feet, and begins to back up to the door inch by inch.

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)"Heh, won't matter anyway, because everyone here will work together to see that you lose, right boys?" Acel says with a wink.
"Let's deal," Nalu says eagerly, passing out the cards.
(OOC: Let's have Kalana make a Gaming check. If she is going to try and cheat, she can add a +1 to her score.)
Mathias Blackcairn (Harbormaster's Office)The elf simply chuckles darkly. "No, the daft thing would be committing a crime in broad daylight. You must be the worst lawman ever. First, the Guild has no authority here at all. But I reckon you know that, which is why you have a gun in my face. So let me tell you a couple of things you might not know, alas'taren. This here is Tu'Valie, home of the Blue Lightning. Now most know they have no love for pirates, but they don't like land thieves any better. I'll summon the guard as soon as you walk out of here, and even if you get away from them, it's going to be hard to get that log translated and track down your boy when you're hiding from the authorities, I'd wager. I'll also have the ship you came in on impounded so you can't leave and I'll send word to the Guild one of their lawmen is actually a criminal, so even if everything else goes your way somehow, you'll be out of the job regardless. And finally, if you plan on using that pistol, you best not miss." He points to his scarred eye. "Last fellow that did couldn't finish the job, and I got the fun of watching his legs dangle as he hung from the gallows."
He shakes his head. "But tell you what. Put the gun away, leave the book and the gem on my desk, and I'll let you walk out of here. We'll consider the gem payment for the inconvenience you've caused me. Do anything else, and you get to learn firsthand what it's like to be on the wrong side of the law."
Jaeron Dernfog (Temple of Obedience)"Well, I don't think this gem will be enough to rent out a new place, but at the very least I can fix this place up," the elf says. "Perhaps you're right, if it looks nicer, maybe more people will be interested in checking it out, and maybe they'll be more receptive to the word of Gonto."

Mathias stares the elf down, contemplating how he ought to get himself out of this predicament. The harbormaster's smirk seems mocking as the man completely ignores the pistol pointed at his face and returns Mathias' gaze.
Slowly, Mathias removes his backpack and sets it down on the floor. He tucks the hefty logbook underneath one arm, and -- with the pistol still raised, finger still lightly braced upon the trigger -- he uses his free hand to awkwardly dig through the satchel. Eventually his search ends, and he pulls out what he'd been looking for: the Philter of Persuasiveness.
He manages to uncork the container, but realizes that he can't bring it up to his lips with the book tucked under his arm. So, while the harbormaster looks on in mild amusement, he makes a precarious swap between his pistol-hand and the hand holding the potion before imbibing the latter. After he drains its contents, he drops the empty bottle to the floor.
Finally, Mathias addresses the scarred man. "Alright, look," he says, "perhaps I've been a bit unfair. Let's just- let's talk this out, okay? You seem like a reasonable man." And with that, he lowers his pistol and returns it back to the holster.
"How about...I hold on to this logbook. Just for a while, right? Just till I find the guy I'm lookin' for, and then I'll get it back to you, promise. And in return..." He reaches into his pocket and withdraws the gem again, and sets it on the table. "This is yours. No need to drag the Tu'Valie guard down here -- ain't no theft takin' place. I'm just borrowin' your reference material for a bit, right? How's that sound?"

She walks down the gang plank and heads into town, heading for the city center looking for the mage's guild

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)The group begins the game. The first round does not go well for Kalana. She, Hadrian and Enzo all lose, while Donato, Nalu and Acel all win.
"Alright, now things get interesting," Acel says. "Kalana will play against Hadrian and Enzo to see who will be the loser and have to streak. I'll play Donatu and Nalu to see who gets the night with Kalana."
"Don't let her win, boys," Nalu says. "Remember, if Kalana loses, we all get to see her naked. Hell, the whole city will." He gives a lecherous wink to her. Kalana makes a gaming check [16] (1d20): 18, fail.
Nalu makes a gaming check [8] (1d20): 8, pass.

(OOC: Let's have a second gaming check to see if Kalana can at least avoid losing entirely.)
Mathias Blackcairn (Harbormaster's Office)The potion takes a few seconds before working. The elf's attitude toward Mathias changes, especially once he puts the gun away. He seems less tense now, more at ease. "I need that book to do my job. Without it, the whole harbor will get backed up. So please return it quickly," he says, picking up the gem to examine it more closely.
Mathias drinks his Philter of Persuasiveness. He now gets a +5 to reaction adjustments and can use Suggestion once every 10 rounds to all creatures within 30 yards of him for (1d4+4) 3+4 = 7 turns. 1d4 Jaeron Dernfog (Temple of Obedience)The elf thinks it over for a minute or so. "Okay. First, I'll need to go and exchange this gem for coin. Then I'll need to buy materials to fix this place up. Some tools, as well. I can probably find everything I need in the market place."
Arieal (Thundergulls Magic Guild) Arieal heads to the local magic guild, known as the Thundergulls. They are quite well known in the area, and are responsible for most of the magical marvels found within the city.
Stepping inside their guild house, Arieal approaches the front counter. An elf wearing purple robes and carrying a rather elaborate looking staff is sitting there. A seagull perches on his shoulder. A small marble-like stone, both red and blue in color, orbits his head like a tiny moon. His hair is grey, suggesting he is rather old--but his face is still quite young looking, at least by human standards. His eyes are violet and his skin is quite pale.
"Andaran atish’an. Welcome to the Thundergulls," he says. "I am Azerath. How can I help you today, young lady? Looking to join our illustrious guild?"
As Arieal speaks Elven, she would know that Andaran atish’an is a formal greeting. Literally, it translates to 'Enter this place in peace.'
Johannas Barnsley (Temple of Octhanus)Nodding, the dwarf says, "Please let us know if there is anything you need." Then she and the other clerics begin cleaning up the place, as the crowd left something of a mess behind. 1d20·1d20·1d20·1d20·1d20·1d4·1d100

"I use to live here," Kalana points out with a smirk. "There probably aren't a lot of people that haven't seen me naked around here. It is just you guys that haven't had the pleasure...well most of you," she admits with a small laugh. She turns to her group, and decides to try her luck again which wasn't going so well this time around.

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)Donato, Nalu and Acel play against each other to see who can get the upper hand. However, all three tie, so there is no clear winner. "Guess we're going into round three," Acel says. "We're a determined group, if nothing else."
Kalana, Enzo and Hadrian also play against each other. Kalana handily beats them both. At least she won't have to streak then, but now Enzo and Hadrian will need to play against each other to determine the proper loser.
