Arieal replies. "Mae govannen, saese oment- lle" (Well met, pleased to meet you)
"I am interested in acquiring some additions that my coin may afford."

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)"This was your idea," Nalu points out to her.
Donato, Nalu and Acel play against each other, and Donato easily beats the other two. "Hmm? So I won? I wasn't even trying," the elf admits.
"Oh, sod off!" Acel grumbles.
"Well, guess you two have a date tonight," Nalu comments to Kalana and Donato.
Donato shrugs. "Nonsense. It was just a game. Nobody is under any obligation to do anything."
Meanwhile, Hadrian and Enzo play to determine who will streak. Hadrian gets an amazing hand, sounding defeating Enzo. The shy young man blanches as he realizes he now has to streak in public.
Nalu makes a gaming check [8] (1d20): 17, fail. EGqOZFnl1d20 Donato makes a gaming check [11] (1d20): 7, pass. 1d20 Hadrian makes a gaming check [6] (1d20): 1, pass. 1d20 Acel makes a gaming check [15] (1d20): 20, fail. 1d20 Enzo makes a gaming check [9] (1d20): 14, fail. 1d20
Jaeron Dernfog (Temple of Obedience) "Oh, certainly, by all means," the elf says. He locks up the temple and accompanies Jaeron to the market. "Was there anything you wished to purchase while we're out, as well?"
Arieal (Thundergulls Magic Guild) "Marvelous," Azerath says. "What exactly are you adding on to, might I ask?"

Jaeron "Nothing specific no just trying to see what there is to see, maybe some items to bind my own books. I try to write the history of the ship and crew as we go and document anything I learn from others we help along our journey. So as you can imagine I can generate a large bit of notes worth binding into books."

"So does that mean you aren't going to spend the night with me?" Kalana asks Donato as she reaches over and pats Enzo on the back. "We can give you a few drinks to relax you before your run."

"Oh, nothing to terrible serious. Perhaps some spells, or some items of interest. What is in your guild inventory?" Arieal replies

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)"I bested you in cards. That's all the satisfaction I need," Donato says. "Whoa, hey, if you aren't going to do it, then I will," Nalu objects.
Enzo, meanwhile, looks about ready to faint from anxiety.
As they talk, one of the servers approaches Kalana and hands her a note before departing. The note reads, "Come up to Room 7" and is signed by Aata.
Jaeron Dernfog (Temple of Obedience)"Then you are in luck, falon," the elf says. "I know of at least three bookbinders in the city. The nearest one isn't far from here. I visit there regularly for my own bookbinding needs." Arieal (Thundergulls Magic Guild)"We have a number of spell scrolls for sale, as well as some potions and a few wands and other trinkets," Azerath says. "What manner of magic are you in the market for? Any particular school?"

Do you suppose they have something to water proof the books with? Currently I store the papers in a scroll case."

Kalana giggles as she reads over the note. She walks over to Nalu, and kisses him on the cheek. "Sorry, you didn't win and other plans might have come up for me," she says. "But if Donato isn't going to take up his winnings, then I don't think Enzo should have to take the punishment either," she adds. "I'll leave it up to you guys to decide because I have to meet someone," she explains before walking off.
Once she reaches room 7, she takes a deep breath to ease her nerves, and then knocks on the door.

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Upstairs Hall)After a few moments, the door swings open and Aata Hauate stands before her, looking exactly as she remembered him. He smiles warmly. "Kalana...so you are in town after all. When I got word, I half wondered if someone was aiming to pull some kind of prank on me." He steps aside to let her enter.
Jaeron Dernfog (Temple of Obedience)"Waterproof books? You'd probably need to visit the Thundergull Magic Guild for something like that," the elf says. "Although I have heard of people carving into stone slabs to avoid water damage, but obviously those are pretty heavy to carry around."

Jaeron agrees "Oh my yes that would be too heavy to carry and they'd likely turn my books into anchors aboard the ship. I was more or less thinking something along the lines as what one can coat their boots in to keep them waterproof some sort of salve. Or as you mentioned magical means."

Kalana looks over the man standing before her, and realizes just how much she really did miss him and the rest of the group that she use to work with. "Aw, it almost sounds as if you missed me," she teases as she saunters into his room. "I was actually starting to believe you weren't in town after all, which would have made my shore leave a little less entertaining."

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Upstairs Hall)"We've all missed you," Aata says, closing the door behind her. "We heard you hired on with the Blue Lightning. But that was four years ago. Are you still with them? What brings you back to Tu'Valie?" Jaeron Dernfog (Off the Book)"You could maybe treat a book's leather cover with such a salve, but not the pages themselves," the elf answers. The two set out for the market place. The elf points out the bookbinder place, a small shop called 'Off the Book.' He then heads to another store to pick up supplies to fix up the temple.
Stepping inside the bookbinder place, Jaeron is immediately greeted with the smell of vanilla flowers and almonds, as many old books often smell like. The place is wall to wall shelves, and books of all sizes and colors stacked on them. An elven woman behind the counter beckons him forward. "Andaran atish’an. How can I help you today?" she asks.

Jaeron smiles kindly and looks around the store "My what a splendid place you have here. I'd looking for some book bindings perhaps some of a leather make so they are a little more resistant to water do you have anything along those lines and what might that cost me?"

"Has it really been four years?" Kalana asks as she sits down on the bed. "Time flies," she says absently as she pushes down on the soft mattress with her hands. "Anyway, yeah, I work for the Blue Lightning now, and our shipped docked here for some shore leave while our captain and some of his officers take care of some business. We have to check in every evening to see when we are sailing off again, but I assume we will be here a couple of days at least. I figured I would search for a few of my old contacts while I was here, and see if one of them would be willing to help me get some money to my family," she explains. "You know that every time we got paid I sent them a little bit of my cut."

Mathias makes haste away from the harbormaster's the moment he passes through the door. He stuffs the hard-earned logbook into his backpack as he walks, then stops for a moment to take in his surroundings. It dawns on him that Tu'Valie's layout is completely unfamiliar to him, and he has no idea if he's heading in the right direction. With a sigh, Mathias takes a final glance around and tries to discern which direction the majority of foot-traffic is travelling in, then settles into a pace between walking and jogging in that direction.
(OOC: Mathias is attempting to find Tu'Valie's commercial district. If he manages to get there, he'll search for a branch of the Guild's bank or an affiliated financial institution where he can access his savings.)
