Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Room 7)"Oh, if you had something planned with friends, I don't want to get in the way of that," Aata says, getting to his feet. Jaeron Dernfog (Library)Saying his good-byes, Jaeron follows the elf cleric's directions, crossing the bridge to Governor's Island. The center of the island houses the Governor's mansion, which is surrounded by a wall. But around the outer rim of the island are a number of buildings open to the public, including the library.
The library is not what Jaeron likely expected. Instead of a sprawling building bustling with books on every wall and shelf, it more resembles a quiet cafe. There is a single bookshelf on the back wall with maybe a couple of score of books, none of which have any writing on the spines to indicate what they are about. A sign next to the shelf reads, "One per person. Please return when you are done."
There are multiple chairs, tables, and couches set up for people to sit and read comfortably. Right now, there are only three or four people, perusing books. A single librarian, an elven woman, sits at a desk, reading, as well. The place is fairly quiet, save for the occasional rustling of pages.

Jaeron let down at the results of a so called library heads off to find a museum feeling as if he really does not belong on this island.

Senllip is amazed how close his and the criminal names are. Then he figures some might mistake him for the criminal... 'Better make sure there are evident differences between us...' he looks at the woman purse longingly and keeps at a reasonable distance for now while asking the crier, "What this criminal did? What is his looks?"
================================================================================== (OOC: Can Senllip estimate the amount of money in the woman's purse (at least the amount of coins?). Also are there bonuses for pick-pocketing if the purse is clearly out and unguarded? Next, does Senllip knows if there are magical guards against pick-pocketing? Next, does the name Senrik rings a bell? And lastly, is Kaunati far from current location? Thanks)

Mathias hugs the heavy sack of coins to his chest as he leaves the bank, trying (mostly in vain) to keep the coins from clinking together and giving away the size of the small fortune he's now transporting. It is in this awkward posture that he forces himself to march double-time back to the Tiaru.

"I didn't make any plans with them," Kalana assures Aata. "I just usually spend my time with them, so I was just going to let them know that hanging out with them wasn't going to happen today. Besides, I all ready played a game of cards with them earlier."

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)Kalana returns downstairs to find her gaming buddies still gambling with each other, as well as drinking and carousing in general.
Senllip (Marketplace) The town crier ceases his cries to answer Senllip's questions. "Nobody knows what he looks like, as he has evaded capture up to this point. He is a burglar and a con artist. He has been involved in several heists, robbing mansions, temples, shops and even the poorer homes at times. Most recently, he was behind a break in at the governor's keep. He always leaves behind a calling card when he commits a crime, but even using magical means, he cannot be tracked."
(OOC: 1.) Not from looking at it. 2.) No, the difficulty in picking a pocket lies in doing it without being detected. Actually taking something from someone's pocket is the easy part. 3.) Such magical guards do exist, and Tu'Valie is a very magical city, but there's no way to be sure. 4.) The name Senrik does not sound familiar to him. He must have started his crime spree after Senllip left. 5.) Kauanti is a village on the island of Mond. It's Baeros' hometown. You actually came up with the name, so I'm surprised you don't recognize it.)
Mathias Blackcairn (Slums) With the harbormaster's logbook tucked under one arm and a large bag of gold under the other, Mathias awkwardly starts making his way back to the harbor. He makes it through the merchant district and into the slums, and is about to enter the harbor district when he notices he is being followed. He even recognizes a couple of the people tailing him; he saw them working the docks when he first showed off that black gemstone to the harbormaster.
Jaeron Dernfog (Governor's Island)Jaeron immediately turns around and leaves the library within seconds of entering, and starts making his way to the other side of the island. As the elven cleric told him, there are two museums on this side. One is dedicated to ancient Ruara, and the other to the history of the Blue Lightning.
The former is a large, garden like area with no ceiling, filled with various plants and animals, some of which are not native to these islands. The latter looks more like a traditional museum, a two story building with various naval artifacts within. Both are open and technically free, but ask for a donation upon entrance.

Kalana comes up behind Donato, and wraps her arms around him from behind. "Hey winner," she says. "Since you decided to ditch on your winnings, I found someone else to entertain me for the whole day," she says teasingly. "You guys don't have too much fun without me."

Jaeron goes to the museum that actually looks like one and pays a donation fee of 3sp hoping that is sufficient.

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)"What? Who?" demands Nalu.
"Ah, forget her," Acel says. "Let's go hit the brothels instead. And get some drink for Enzo, for courage for his streaking."
"Have fun," Hadrian says. The group collects their things and heads out. A few minutes later, Aata steps down.
Jaeron Dernfog (Blue Lightning Museum)Jaeron donates three silver pieces before entering the museum.
The place isn't too busy right now, so he needn't worry about crowds. The place is chock full of artifacts from the Blue Lightning's past, including items from famous ships and personal belongings to long dead captains. Each item has a plaque that describes what it is and where it came from.

Kalana watches as her group of friends disappear out the door before she joins Aata. "Ready?" she asks. "You know, you would be a good recruit for the Blue Lightning."

Jaeron continues to look around admiring everything he looks around for anything about the current captains history as well as taking time to remember the details of the past ones. The gnome plans to return the following day with something to write with in his new notebook so he can document the long history of the blue lightning from this museum.

Kalana Ioane (Queen of Harts, Common Room)"I'm ready, yes," Aata responds. "And no...I think I like the freedom too much to give that up. We go where we want, do what we want." Jaeron Dernfog (Blue Lightning Museum)There doesn't seem to be anything on current captains. Only those who have died or retired, and even then, only those who had important historical context. So there is nothing on, say, Julak, for instance.
The history of the Blue Lightning begins before the Carnage War. During the height of the Eonian Empire, a number of elves sought refuge on Hashadeth Island. Many of them sought to take down the empire and here they plotted and planned. But when Carnage was unleashed, it brought down the empire for them.
The elves relished their newfound freedom, despite the heavy cost of life. But without order, things fell to chaos. Pirates and slavers started popping up all over the seas, and soon life was dangerous and fairly short. These former would-be revolutionaries banned together, pooling their resources, to form their own armada. They would hunt down pirates and slavers, helping to restore peace to the islands. Thus was the Blue Lightning born.

Jaeron after taking his long tour of the museum heads off to find a tavern for a meal and perhaps a drink or two.

Kalana has Aata lead the way because she has no idea where this new place is. "Well, we kind of do the same in a way," she says. "Or at least on board the Tiaru. The captain is pretty easy going so it doesn't really feel like he is giving us orders."

Kalana Ioane (Merchant's District) "Even so, you are still bound to go where the captain goes," Aata says as he leads Kalana outside, onto the streets. "You can't just decide to go elsewhere whenever you want."
Jaeron Dernfog (Blue Lightning Museum) Jaeron considers where to find a tavern; there aren't any on Governor's Island. There were some in the harbor district, mostly filled with sailors and the like. The ones in the slums, which are probably cheap but maybe a bit shady. And then he saw some in the merchant district, which are nicer but probably more expensive.
