"Guess I've never been one for rowdy parties," Aata admits. "And like you, I tend to prioritize my coin for things beyond immediate gratification. In any case, they'll return this evening and I'll talk it over with them. We have a new rule these days; we don't accept any job unless all of us agree to it first." Senllip (Marketplace) The elf that Senllip gestures to doesn't respond, but does slip into a nearby alley, out of sight.
As the halfling approaches the town crier, he can better hear the local news.
"Hear ye, hear ye, all captains are warned to be on the look out as more crews have disappeared, leaving their ships abandoned. Could this be the work of vicious merfolk? Slavers? Nobody seems to know, but be on the lookout for a strange fungus often left at the scene of the disappearances!"
He continues, "Who is the mysterious Son of Crizza, as he calls himself? And what does he want? Another report of him attacking a town by summoning all sorts of destructive monsters, this time in the village of Kaunati!"
The elven crier says, "The Bloody Chain strikes again! Recently word has arrived that they targeted the eccentric water-touched cult known as the Children of Meer. But the Blue Lightning arrived in time to rescue them and thwart the Chain!"
After a brief pause, he says, "War beneath the waves? Increasing reports of fighting between the various merfolk races suggest something is amiss under the surface. Sailors beware not to get caught up in it!"
Finally, he says, "Wanted! The local Tu'Valie guard are offering 100 gold pieces for any information leading to the capture of the criminal known as Senrik!"
Jaeron Dernfog (Off the Book)
Jaeron finds the elf cleric having just finished purchasing his supplies and heading back to the Temple of Obedience. "Oh, there you are," he says. "Did you find what you were looking for?"

Kalana stands from where she was sitting, and turns to smile at Aata upon hearing how things have changed with his group. "I guess I left a positive influence on you guys after I left then," she says. "Would you mind if I joined you when you talk with them about it?" she asks. "And since it has been such a long time, would you mind if I gave you a hug?" she asks. Normally, she wouldn't ask, but Aata was a little different as he made it a point not to make too much physical contact with her when they were working together, but they weren't working together anymore and she didn't know if he harbored any ill feelings towards her after she left four years ago. |

Aata smiles. "Yeah, you are the one responsible for that little rule. We never wanted to make anyone in the group feel like they didn't belong again, not if we could help it. And sure, you can be here when we discuss the job. I'm sure the others will be glad to see you." For her last request, he nods. "Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with that." He opens his arms to her. Jaeron Dernfog (Marketplace)"No, unless you know anything about construction work," the elf replies. "I hired a couple of laborers to do most of that, though. If everything goes well, the temple should be fixed up nice in a couple of days." |

Jaeron "Very well I shall stop back in two days and see how things are going. Do you suppose you could direct me to a good place to go to kill some time here? I'm not familiar with the area and really have no idea where to go to pass my shore leave time."

Kalana doesn't hesitate as she walks up to Aata and wraps her arms around him and gently rested her head upon his chest. After all that she had just went through, she is in desperate need of a hug. "You know, I could probably spend the rest of the day with you," she says. "But I don't want to disturb your free time." |

I'd assume you'd want to hit all the hot spots in the city like the others are." Now if you said a library or museum or maybe even some historians I could play chess or sava with then we'd have some fun by my standards. Tavern maybe later." |

Kalana hugs Aata for a couple of seconds longer before she finally lets him go. "You haven't changed one bit," she teases. "You hardly ever left your room when we had some down time. Though, you are technically right. Are there any new hot spots around here?" she asks. |

"Aside from the usual taverns, brothels, gambling halls and bathhouses this place is famous for?" asks Aata. "Actually, yes...now that you mention it. I recall hearing something about a new amusement park that opened recently. The Thundergulls had a big hand in building it, so I'm guessing lots of magical stuff. None of us have visited it yet, though, so I can't say for sure what sort of place it is."

"Certainly," the cleric says. "Head west until you reach the town square, then head north until you reach the bridge, and cross it. The museums are on the west side of the island, while the library is on the east side."

Jaeron heads off with the directions he is given and heads to the library to find some books to read in his down time. Before departing he says to the kohen "My thanks for the help. I'll be back in a couple days to see how things are going."

"Oh, I'm going to be talking a lot then," Kalana says with a grin. "I'll meet you in the common room. I should probably tell my gaming friends down there that I'm ditching them for you," she says, laughing a bit before she makes her exit to head back to the common room.
