The following day, the Tiaru raises her anchor and departs from the beautiful port city of Tu'Valie. It's a clear and sunny day, and there does not appear to be a cloud in the sky. It should make for smooth sailing.
After breakfast, the party heads up to the upper deck. Strangely, the captain has kept quiet on their next destination so far. He is currently on the forecastle with Toven, the two looking over a scroll and speaking quietly to each other.
Meanwhile, Setra and Heven argue about something on the aftcastle. Divex has the wheel. Varil is up in the rigging. Rahis walks the upper deck, keeping an eye on things. And Kevara is down below, taking inventory.

Kalana glances over the arguing couple for a moment before she decides to try and sneak up on Julak and Toven so that she can sneak a peak at what kind of scroll they are looking at. Though, as she has never been great at the sneaking bit, she ends up just coming up behind them, and glancing over their shoulder. "What do you two have there?" She asks.

Jaeron hesitates to approach the captain or Toven so instead goes for a little stroll on the decks to enjoy the nice day. All the while wishing Mathias was still aboard the ship, being that most of the others aboard barely tolerate the gnome. Eventually after the walk the cleric of Gonto summons the courage to approach the captain. "Pardon me captain but might I inquire as to our destination sir?"

As soon as Kalana and Jaeron approach, Toven quickly furls up the scroll. Kalana gets a brief view of what looks like a map of the islands, before he does, but not much else. "That is classified," the first mate says, quickly tucking the map away.
Julak chuckles. "Sorry, we got new orders from Captain Temer while in the city. We cannot discuss them with the crew yet, not until we arrive at our destination. It's a matter of some secrecy." Captain Temer is the leader of the Blue Lightning flotilla, as well as captain of the D'serek. He is an older elven male and he and Julak and Toven all seem to go back quite a bit. "I'm glad to see everyone so well rested, however. I trust you all made good use of your downtime during shore leave?"

Jaeron "Very well. As for my time I suppose you could say I did in my own way. How about you captain?" the gnome asks changing the subject so as not to pry about the destination they are headed.

Kalana purses her lips together as she looks to Julak and Toven. "We can't know until we get to our destination?" she asks. "That doesn't sound fishy or anything," she says sarcastically. "But as for rest, I ran into the leader of the old mercenary group I used to hang out with, so I did some catching up with him." She puts a little emphasis on the 'him' part to see if the two of them has any reaction what so ever, even though she highly doubts that will be a reaction. "Oh, and with the help of Jaeron here, we helped Johannas' save his friend's sister too."

During breakfast Senllip is excited to tell his friends all about his adventures and the GOLEM he had seen. As always he is back behind the desk serving the food and tasting here and there, but once he sees Kalana Jaeron and Johannes all group up he joins their table bringing piles of whatever sweets the breakfast has to offer and starts, "Guys! Good morning! How was your shore leave? You know, I saw a GOLEM!!" He exclaims without letting them answer. After finishing his stories and sharing some not so elegant opinions of who gave birth to Senrik, he hears of their stories as well while eating and appreciating the save of the girl. Up on the deck, Senllip was on his way to Divex checking his course, but immediately is drawn to the ACTION as he sees the argument between Sentra and Hiven. "Hi there!" he interrupts after listening for a minute and getting the hang of both sides claims. "What a wonderful day, isn't it? Maybe I assist in your... loud dialog?" Senllip asks smiling politely.
======================================================= (OOC: Senllip would like to know what they argue about and to share his opinion on the subject and later continue to Divex)

Julak chuckles. "I wish I could say I had a good time, but to be honest, I spent most of it working. I guess that's the main downside of being a captain. Maybe next time we have shore leave, I can have a bit of fun, as well."
"I hear you," Julak says with a wink. "I hope you didn't exhaust the poor boy too much."
Toven merely rolls his eyes silently.
"No kidding? Save her from what? Was she cute? Did she reward you with a kiss?" he asks Johannas, giving the druid a gentle nudge in the ribs with his elbow.
"Golem?" Julak wonders aloud. "Do I want to know? I have a feeling I don't want to know."
Toven sighs. "Whatever he means by that, I just hope the next time we dock in Tu'Valie, there isn't an armed contingent of constables with a warrant, waiting for us."
"You can't be serious," Setra is saying to Heven. "People are inherently good. They are just sometimes led astray by bad ideas."
"Nonsense," Heven replies. "People are inherently selfish. The only 'good' we do is for selfish reasons. What, you really expect me to believe you actually care about everyone on the planet equally? Or is it you just like the feeling of importance that comes with helping others?"
"Of course I care!" Setra argues. "We all share this world, and there's no reason to inflict suffering on others for short-term gain. Especially when life is so short to begin with. It's not worth eternal suffering in the afterlife anyway."
"Ah, so in other words, the only reason to be good is be rewarded in the end?" Heven asks.
"That's not what I meant at all, and you know it."
The two continue arguing, barely acknowledging Senllip at all.

"Normally, you probably would be right," Kalana says to Julak and Toven thoughtfully. "But there was a new amusement park in town, so we decided to check that out. Come to find out, there is a woman there telling the story of the Villain of Shadowshore." Kalana expression changes from the seemingly chipper to dark and brooding as she thinks back on the story that she heard. "Everyone loved the story, and when they learned it was based on a true story, it kind of felt like some of them might end up going on a witch hunt," she says before she removes the flask from her hip and takes a swig.
"Ah, we saved her from the Crimson Oars," Kalana explains. "They are apparently a new thieves guild in the city that are trying to make a name for themselves. They were hired by a dwarf from the trading guild as apparently this woman was in the way of his business. We..uh, might end up in some trouble with the trading guild at some point, just as a warning. I don't know if they are actually going to do what I hired them to do which is to return the dwarf's money to the trading guild itself and turn the dwarf in for his crimes, but they might do it. It might cause some issues, but I couldn't let what the dwarf did slide."

Maybe next time we have shore leave, I can have a bit of fun, as well." Jaeron replies to the captain "Well I suspect what I did was more like work to most folk as I went to see the museums and donated to a church helped give the fellow running the place some ideas to draw folk in, other than that i had a book bound and bought an larger notebook to chronicle out history. Then there was the whole rescuing the woman from a thief guild, really the only leisure I had was dinning out with the same local that runs the church and listening to his story."

"There are opinions that support both your sides, and all refer to kids!" Senllip interrupts. "There is no total contradiction between being selfish and good. Many times one can be both. Sometimes not. It is said babies are selfish until at some age they develop sympathy to other people needs and feelings. It is also said that kids are good until they are mistreated or misunderstood by the people around them, usually parents and other adults." He looks at them expectantly... "So why argue? What is the point beside proving the other wrong? I rather we all sing in this beautiful day and not stir in the pot..." He then starts a sailors rhyme and head to the wheel to meet Divex. "Hey mate!" he joyfully salutes. "Good wind in the sails ya? Where are we heading dear Divex?" he asks.

"'No,' she wasn't cute? Or 'no' she didn't give you a kiss?" Julak asks. "Ah, either way, don't worry about it. There's always next time!" He pats the druid on the back.
Toven rubs his chin in thought. "Villain of Shadowshore? That sounds familiar. I think I might have heard of that before. Isn't Shadowshore one of those small, unaligned islands? Is this Villain someone we should keep an eye out for?"
"I wouldn't worry about it," Julak says. "People are always telling stories. Some true, some false, and some in between. Trying to sift through all the noise usually is a waste of time."
Julak chuckles. "Not to worry, the Guild is no threat. What are they going to do, write a sternly worded cease and desist? But only after several years of cutting through red tape."
Toven shakes his head. "They are desperate to form a monopoly on the islands, and Hashadeth is one of the bigger hold-outs. It doesn't surprise me they'd stoop to such unethical means to get a foothold in Tu'Valie. I'm glad to hear you thwarted them, in any case."
"Not my idea of a party, but to each his own," Julak says. "As long as you had a good time. Next time we drop anchor here, I'll introduce you all to my favorite hot spots in the city. We'll paint the town red and make some great memories, at least those we can still remember afterward, anyway!"
"I don't know what you're on, but I want some," Heven says.
Setra huffs and then turns and walks away, heading down to he shrine to calm down. Heven just laughs.
"The captain has asked to keep that classified," Divex replies. "Our current mission apparently depends on secrecy. Or maybe he's just paranoid after what happened with Mathias."

Kalana glances to Toven for a moment, and seems slightly relived about something. "Just to be safe, I did speak to the woman that told the story," Kalana says. "She obviously embellished a lot of what actually happened even though she did do quite a bit of research to get the story. I don't think the villain is as villainous as she made it out to be."
"It seemed as if the Crimson Oars were a little more afraid of them than you two are," Kalana says thoughtfully. "Anyway, so what exactly are the plans for today?" she asks curiously.
