"Maybe you'd own more than one town if you bothered to bathe once in a while!" Fosco shouts at the second thug. Not his most creative magical insult, but it would have to do. As he does this, he casts a spell of Holding on the "redbrand" who is holding his fellow Halfling. [Unless it's Thug #1, in which case he'll cast it on #3]

Before anyone can act, Fosco pulls out his flute and plays a tune that starts as jaunty and fast, but then suddenly halts to a single, long note.  In response, one of the Redbrands suddenly freezes in place, unable to move at all.

Another Redbrand (#4) rushes forward to the inn entrance and starts stabbing at Orianna, who tries unsuccessfully to fire an arrow at the Redbrand holding the child (#1).  Unable to do so, she does manage to withdraw behind Fosco, letting Navarra take her spot while Klaxon tosses a firebolt at her opponent.  Navarra strikes, drawing blood, as well.  Meanwhile, another Redbrand (#2) rushes forward at Bareris.  She strikes the monk twice, hurting him quite a bit.  But he manages to return the favor with a lucky hit, evening the score.  Zoya throws a javelin to finish her off, but misses.

The Redbrand holding the boy pulls out his blade and points it at the boy, using him as a shield should anyone try to approach.

Orianna fires an arrow at Redbrand 01 with disadvantage (enemy next to her) vs. AC 14 (1d20+4):  3+1 = 4, miss.  She then uses Cunning Action to disengage and move 10 feet north.

Navarra grunts her irritation.  She's looking to be the one getting attacked, not some squishy meatbag without any metal between him and the redcapes, or whatever they called themselves.  Frankly she was too angry to pay that close attention to what he was saying.  Now she's got to decide between making sure Baeris doesn't die horribly, and generating fog like she planned to dull the redleg's reaction time so she could bowl him over.  She takes another swing at the man blocking the door.

But she's not displeased with how well this group sprang into action.  These folks might be alright.

"You an' me both know you ain't gonna kill that kid, boy, 'cause if'n y'do I ain't got nothin' stoppin' me from paintin' the street with yer guts!"

Well, she's convinced herself.  The miracle goes to Baeris, and with a word his wounds begin to mend themselves.

Klaxon then waves the medallion around his neck which glows slightly as he recites the words of power and the corniest joke he can think of...[Casts Tasha's Hideous Laughter (Wis save DC13 or prone and incapacitated)]

First and foremost, Fosco blows a single note on his flute, healing Bearis a small amount. Then, after a brief (whispered) conversation with Klaxon, he casts Vicious Mockery on the Wizard’s target, shouting, “Hey, you! Listen to the Elf’s joke! I bet it’s even good enough for someone as stupid as you to get it!”

With the healing power of music, Fosco manages to restore Bareris' stamina so he can keep fighting a bit, then makes a very insulting remark to the Redbrand holding the child, causing him to flinch as if actually struck physically.  Klaxon then follows up with a spell of his own, but it doesn't seem to work.  The ruffian maintains his stoic composure and fights off the spell's effects.  Orianna attempts to shoot at him, but between Fosco and Klaxon in front of her now, she doesn't have a clear enough shot.

The woman fighting with Navarra manages to draw some blood, but luckily the cleric is able to maintain her concentration on her blessing.  She drops a healing prayer of her own on the monk at her side, then slashes at the woman in front of her.  But the Redbrand deflects the strike with her own short sword.

The woman fighting with Bareris stabs the monk twice.  The first time undoing the healing Fosco just did, and the second time bringing the monk down.  However, a moment later Navarra revives him again.  Back on his feet, he stabs the woman he's fighting, killing her.  Then he turns and makes a backhand strike toward the woman fighting Navarra, smacking her pretty good, but not enough to take her down.  Meanwhile, the Redbrand that was held by Fosco breaks free of the spell and rushes up to engage the monk, stepping over his fallen comrade.  Luckily, Bareris is able to dodge both attacks.  Zoya backs him up by tossing another javelin at this new foe, and manages to wound him slightly.

Navarra rolls with the blade's impact, hurt but not overly so, and responds with a mighty arc of lightning called from out of nowhere to strike the redbrand as if the sky itself is overecome with fury at the gangster's temerity.

"We're gettin' there, Orianna, y'see us hackin'!"

Reaction at being hit in melee range, dealing Wq2lhO7_2d8 lightning damage.  Dexterity DC 13 to save for half, using one of three uses per long rest.
