Runt draws his arm back tight, and lines up his shots at the Bozak. It takes him With a grunt apiece as he lets both arrows fly. At the last second, he tilts his aim just a bit-deciding that despite his distaste at the Bozak 'playing nice' was a thing to start with. [OOC: Nonlethal shots for fun and profit. Runt, who had already nocked and aimed his arrow, lets loose the moment the announcer declares the battle begun, but the arrow goes wide and misses entirely. Before he can prepare a second arrow, the Bozak starts chanting to the Dragon Queen, and suddenly a green cloud of noxious gas springs up right in the middle of the party, engulfing Runt and Grognak. Runt accidentally inhales some, and immediately begins choking and coughing, preventing him from even lifting his bow, much less firing it.
At around the same time, the half-elf looking fellow starts to cast his own spell, and suddenly the bestial humanoid before him starts to grow in size. Seeing as he was already seven feet tall as it was, this spell makes him grow to be nine, nearly ten feet tall! The humanoid then charges forward, straight at Dorias, and easily slams his right fist into the cavalier, hitting quite hard. Trying to dodge the creature's attacks, Dorias does manage to get off a couple of shots with his bow at the bozak. Only one arrow hits, and it doesn't do much but knock off a couple of scales, but it's a start and the only successful attack on the enemy so far.
Grognak, having managed to not breathe in any of the gas, moves out of the cloud, and stands protectively before Ravarie as she continues her long prayer. The baaz then charges at him, slashing with his long sword and cutting the half-goblin slightly across his left arm. It's barely more than a scratch.
Severely underestimating her throwing arm, Teakettle stumbles forward and hurls the empty inkwell at the Bozak with all her might...and it falls to the ground far short of its target, breaking on impact.
Finally, Ravarie completes her prayer and the party feels another surge of power as the Blue Phoenix, Habbakuk, gives them his blessing.

Ducking beneath the Taylang's last blow, Dorias tosses his bow at his opponent as a distraction, then pulls his sword out of the ground where he had planted it. He quickly salutes his foe and assumes a guard position. "Well struck, I'll be sore for some time from that."
Actions Drop bow and draw sword. (I assume it's not possible to equip Dorias' shield in the same round, but if he can, he does that to.)
Apply Gallant bonus to AC for the round (+2 AC). If allowed, Dorias will also use the parrying rule from p. 133 of the PHB to add another +3 to his AC.

Noticing that Ravarie is chanting, the Bozak quickly starts a spell of his own. Two beams of energy erupt from one of his claws and flies toward the druid, and even arc around the Baaz and Grognak, to slam into her, disrupting her spell. The half-elf looking fellow, meanwhile, does nothing but watch. "And here I was worried for a moment when I saw they outnumbered us," he comments to the Bozak with a grin.
The large, bestial humanoid does not reply to Dorias' comment, and it's not entirely clear if this is because he cannot speak Common or he simply is taciturn. He does, however, bear his teeth in a grin before attacking again, managing to strike Dorias with one of his claws before the cavalier can even get his shield up.
Runt steps out of the cloud of noxious gas, still coughing and choking. Teakettle pats him on the back, although it has little effect.
Meanwhile, Grognak takes another minor cut from the Baaz he is fighting, but both his spear and club are parried or blocked.

Dorias staggers back from the bestial humanoid's blow. "Not much of a talker, eh?"
Bringing his shield up, Dorias circles his enemy, looking for an opening, but is consistently kept on the defensive by a flurry of claws. He's fast - really fast. If I let my guard down, he'll tear me apart, he thinks worriedly. With only pride at stake, Dorias opts to keep fighting defensively, concentrating on counter attacks.

The Bozak casts another spell, and the coughing and choking Runt starts to shrink. He stops at 7'2", which means he's still quite large, although not as much so. Teakettle gets distracted by what appears to be a small black feather on the ground.
The Baaz and Grognak continue to exchange blows, but neither can get the upper hand. Ravarie completes her prayer, and she feels her skin harden, as if made of bark itself.
Meanwhile, Dorias and the large bestial humanoid continue to clash. The creature's assault is largely blocked now that the cavalier has his shield up, although one claw does manage to get through and give him a slight scratch. Dorias then counterattacks and manages to smack the creature pretty hard with the flat of his blade, causing it to flinch in pain. Oddly, the half-elf looking fellow also flinches at the same time, despite nobody being anywhere near him. "Oh, you're going to pay for that one!" the half-elf promises, shaking his fist.
