Ladonna Eowin politely shows her to the door. After asking directions on where Lady Miriam might be, Ladonna is told by the castle servants to try the sewing room, as she often retires there at this time of day with her daughter, Joy. As it turns out, the sewing room is right across the hall from Helen's room, so it's easy enough to find. It's a small room with a number of chairs, each with a basket of yarn and fabric at their feet.
Miriam sits in one chair, as does Joy. There are a couple of other women here that Ladonna does not recognize, including an elven woman.
"Well now, what have we here?" Miriam asks aloud when Ladonna enters the room. The other women, who had all been speaking animatedly, suddenly clam up. "Come to join us in sewing, Ser Marche?"
Lillian "Oh," the young man replies. He sounds fairly disappointed. "Well, if you'll excuse me, I have some rats to kill."

"Good luck," she wishes him.

"Ah, well, I think I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I don't know how to sew," Ladonna says, seemingly a little embarrassed. "But I wanted to get to know you and your daughter a little better, your ladyship."

Ladonna "Well, now is as good a time as any to learn, if you wish to join us," Joy offers.
"But if you are uncomfortable with it, we understand," Miriam adds. "Some people just don't take well to the hobby."
Lillian The young man turns to leave, then pauses a moment and turns back. "About all that stuff...about war and all that...well, I'm a nobody right now. Just some blacksmith's kid. Nobody cares what I think. Maybe one day, I'll be a famous adventurer or a knight, and important people will listen to me. But if what you said is true, and you came here with a noble, that means you're already further along than I am. It means you're important enough that the people in charge might listen to you. You should use that power to try and change things. I know I would." He then heads downstairs, drawing his sword.

"I'm not interrupting anything here, am I?" Ladonna asks as she joins the group. She isn't even sure where to begin when it comes to sewing.

“Sound advice,” Lillian says.

Ladonna "Oh, we do this everyday," Joy explains. "It's how the highborn ladies and our handmaidens keep up with the latest goings-on in the castle. Panola, do you mind?" she asks the elf.
The blonde elf nods and hands Ladonna a spare needle and some thread, as well as some cloth. "To get you started," she explains.
Lillian Lillian finishes her ale in peace. When she is done, the bartender asks if she wants anything else.

Ladonna takes the thread, cloth, and needle, and looks them over as she thinks to herself, ~Ah, a gossip circle basically.~ She takes a moment to thread the needle, and then looks over the cloth again and shakes her head. Just sewing on clothing for no reason other than to sew seems foreign to her. "And what is going on in the castle, lately?" she asks curiously.

Ladonna "Why, the arrival of Lady Escott is the biggest news of the day, of course," Joy answers. "You mentioned the Wyld Boys this morning at breakfast. What was it like fighting them? I hear they can be pretty ruthless."

"They are pretty euthless," Ladonna admits. "Especially the more organized they get," she adds thoughtfully. "Though, the group we fought didn't seem use to the organization. They had us surrounded, but U think they underestimated us."

Ladonna "Must we speak of such vulgar things as banditry?" asks Miriam.
"Very well, mother," Joy says with a sigh. Changing the subject, she asks Ladonna, "So how is it you have not married yet?"

"Unfortunately, I come from a broken family," Ladonna admits sadly. "I might be a Ser now, but I wasn't in the past. I have spent most of my life just trying to stay alive."

Ladonna "A broken family?" Joy asks, concern on her face. "Might I ask what happened to cause such a thing?"

"I don't want to go into too many details," Ladonna says sadly as if even speaking about this issue was difficult. "But my mother ended up leaving my father and I due to some of my father's indiscretions."

Ladonna "I'm so sorry," Joy says. "I can't imagine growing up without my mother."
"What sort of woman just abandons her own family?" Miriam asks, shaking her head.
