According to the PHB, under Hide in Shadows: "A thief can never become hidden while a guard is watching him, no matter what his dice roll is--his position is obvious to the guard." The only way Senllip is going to be able to sneak past any of these people is to wait for battle to start, when everyone is more distracted. But keep in mind, your movement rate drops to 1/3 normal when Moving Silently. Senllip's movement rate is currently 40 feet a round. That means he'll be moving 10 feet per round, so it will take him somewhere around 10 rounds to even reach the leader. By that point, the battle will likely be over, one way or the other.
He can, yes. It's not high enough for him to take damage from the fall, either. However, any enemy between him and the leader will get a free attack if he rushes past them. Even if he makes it past all of them and one-shots the leader, he'll be completely surrounded by that point. So it's pretty risky.
It makes the target forget everything that's happened the last few rounds.

OOC: Nope, Hold Person is all used up.
Look, if we're going to attack, we should be trying to make sure that the leader and the crossbows leave ASAP along with the slaves and the five guys escorting them. No amount of distracting is going to alter the maths of the situation - we're heavily outnumbered, we have no HP cushion to soak hits, we have no healing to mitigate hits, and there's no cover anywhere in the room.
Any attack we make now will stall at the foot of the stairs and allow five crossbows to concentrate their fire on whoever they want. So if Kalana and Jaeron want to keep talking, fine, but try to make the leader and his crossbow cronies go away.

Well, the leader keeps trying to leave, but people keep talking to him.

Fine I was thinking more to take the leader down first but sure Jaeron will shutup.

If you have a plan for doing that without everyone getting knocked into negatives in the meantime, please share, because I can't work out how to do it myself!

I was thinking of going after the leader too honestly because if you take out the leader that is going to cause a morale check. Though, it is extremely difficult to get to him. Since we can't get to him, the only other thing we can do is wait for him to leave, and then attack the remaining guards, and hope that we take them out quickly before all the slaves are loaded onto the ship.
I know that Jaeron has Dust Devil memorized, so that might be useful in distracting the leader while we are trying to deal with the guards.

Yeah its the only spell he really has at the moment that can do much.

The spell description for Dust Devil does specifically state that if you use it on a spellcaster, they have to save or lose their concentration.
That being said, in terms of taking out the leader to force a morale check, keep in mind that because the slavers know they can't be killed (at least, not permanently), their morale scores will be very high. It's hard to scare someone into surrendering when they know they won't stay dead if they refuse. Not saying it can't be done, just won't be easy.

I shall await the signal of our fearless leader and or friendly gnome historian before Imrich does anything more.
Besides going for the slavers now, the only options I see are:
1. Let them go and then tail them. This has the disadvantage of us possibly losing track of them and unless we happen to run into some friendly deputies and/or clerics, we'll be in the same condition we are now if we end up fighting.
2. Let them go then go back to interrogate the slavers we dragged into the barracks as to where they're going, how many more of them there are, and how many slaves. This has the disadvantage of giving them a head start and the possibility that the DM won't allow us to get them to spill the beans. Also, the same problem with us being in a depleted state if we end up fighting them.

What about trying to sabotage (unseen) their ship so they can't set sail?

Then I guess I would propose that Jaeron use Dust Devil on the leader and his guards, while Imrich, Kalana, and Senllip try to take out the rest? I would suggest that we keep close together. Senllip maybe should use ranged weaponry.

OK. You know what Samson said in the bible: "Let me die with the Philistines!" so let's go for it and try not to die... at least not too quickly. BTW, Imrich, do you want to grab door or something (bed) from the previous room to use as cover for us?
