Yeah, except they're not Italian.
Heather's done very well in FF7 so far. She's nearly to the end of Disk 1. I was surprised she made it that far--not due to a lack of ability. It's just, she usually has difficulty staying committed to such a long (40+ hours) game.

Well, I actually picked up Chrono Cross, and I have to say, I'm surprised by the sheer diversity of the characters. I mean, I knew I would see plenty of characters, but I found a masked luchador. You don't find those in your standard fantasy RPG very often.

The numerous selection of playable characters in Chrono Cross is also its downfall, in my opinion. With so many characters, there's no room for lots of backstories. Most characters join you off the street and you never hear from them again. Only about 4-5 have tangible, detailed backstories at all (Serge, Kid, Glenn, Lynx, and Harle).
The game's plot is terribly confusing too, even for those who have played Chrono Trigger.

Oh, I'm not denying that. But still, I think its diversity is pretty cool. I still wonder, though. Will I ever be able to go to the mainland?

Well, with the New Game + option, you can eventually recruit all of them. I think there's...40 playable characters? That sounds right.
No, you never leave El Nido, I'm afraid. You hear lots of interesting things about what's happened in the Main Land, though. Like, for instance, apparently Guardia fell and the Porre nation became a military super-power and took them over.

I had to admit, hearing that Porre had some power confused the hell out of me. I remember Porre having an inn and a shop, and quite possibly a pub. Where they got the resources to form an army within 20 years is still beyond me.

The game never specifically states how this happens, either. How did Porre become a military super power? How did Guardia fall? But there are quite a few extensive and well-thought out theories on the subject.

I just started up, and in the same day finished, a game called "Fire Striker" for the SNES.
You play as a little person running around, from a camera angle that is not unlike Zelda, and you must hit a yellow ball at obstacles and enemies. You can't do any damage to anything, unless you want to lose some life, without the ball. Also, the ball always returns to the bottom of the screen like in a pinball machine. It's a good deal of fun, some of the bosses get fustrating though. I reccommend grabbing it for your emulators out there.

I'm proud to say that I actually made it to the second disc on FF7. Go me. I never get too terribly far in games.

I just started up an old SNES game called Arcana, which is terribly different from the sort of turn-based RPG's I'm used to. This is first person, and the fighting system is sort of D&D-ish in how I think it works off of initiative instead of "bad guys go, good guys go". Which is sometimes really bloody frustrating because woo, sometimes they go twice ans three times before you get to hit. ._. But all in all I like it.

She's doing well. She missed the huge materia in the rocket, but then, so did I last time I played. She's now on the third disk, preparing for the final showdown. Speaking of FF7, I thought that this was just too hilarious: I'm not made of gil!Next time around I play, I'm going to have a primary party with Yuffie and Cait Sith, just to prove their good characters--nobody seems to like them, not even Heather.

Something has come to my attention. Edward's favorite Final Fantasy is four. Apart from being absolutely awesome alliteration, that makes a streak between us. Eddie 4, Me 5, David 6(or 3, still makes a streak). I'm sure one of you holds 7 in high regards as well.
What this means is, if Eddie was a FF hero he'd be Cecil, a Dark Knight turned Paladin.
I'd be Butz, the chocobo-riding youth with versatility and the power of crystals.
David would Terra, a half-esper, green-haired, girl.
I declare "Pwned!" on David.

I don't see how that makes it a streak, exactly.
And ha-ha, your name is Butts. Hey, Butts. You smell like a dirty fart, Butts.

Streak, as in a series. 4, 5, 6.
And, you wanna go girly-girly? We can take this to the turn-based battle-screen!

Although technically, one can't really claim Tina (or Terra) is the main protagonist of FF6. There really wasn't one. Yes, the game focuses on her in the beginning, but in the second part of the game, it focuses on Celes. But I wouldn't really call her the leader, either.
In any case, for me, FF Tactics is tied for first place with FF6, so you could easily say I'm Ramza.
