Ladonna finds a chair in Mannan's room, and takes a seat there. "You went through a lot of trouble for this," Ladonna points out. "Do you go through all this trouble for all the women you wish to have?"

"Oh, no, not at all," Mannan insists. "Only the very special ones." He drinks more of his wine. "Well, you are a free woman now. I don't think Ser Relken will recover from this, and the marriage will be called off. How would you like to...celebrate...this important event?"

"And how many very special ones have there been?" Ladonna asks curiously. "And I'm not exactly sure how to celebrate this honestly."

"Only one, aside from you, but that was many, many years ago," Mannan says with a touch of sadness in his voice. "How about we celebrate with a song?" He reaches for his trumpet. "In your honor, of course. I wrote one while I was waiting for you."

"You wrote a song while waiting for me?" Ladonna asks in amusement. "Alright. You have my attention."

Mannan starts to play a jazzy, slow tune. Even more than the wine, the music seems to have a relaxing effect on Ladonna. She feels her thoughts grow fuzzy, and finds it difficult to focus on any one...

Ladonna had only taken a couple of sips of the wine, so she wasn't expecting to feel so fuzzy in the head just yet.

Ladonna suddenly snaps back to reality. She realizes the music the bard is playing is laced with magic, and she was starting to succumb. Fortunately, her training in the school of charm magic also involved defense from charming, and she's able to shake it off entirely.

Ladonna has a couple of options now that she knows what the gnome was trying to do, and since she has a little time, she decides to play a little bit before revealing that it was clumsy and foolish to try to charm a charmer. "Well, it wasn't as good as the song you played earlier today, but it was nice."

Mannan chuckles a bit, placing the horn away. "Well, I didn't have as much time to work on that one. Consider it a work in progress; much like our budding relationship," he says with a wink.

Ladonna stands from where she took a seat, and moves to sit down almost uncomfortably close to the gnome. "Yes, our budding relationship," she says as she leans in a little closer to him. "I have a lot to learn in the area of relationships, and you seem to be the right person to teach me."

"Oh, the best person," Mannan agrees. He begins to lean his face toward hers.

Mannan can feel Ladonna's breath upon his lips. "Ohh, but you aren't the best," she whispers before she pushes him back and stands up. "It was foolish to try your magic on me."

"Wait, calm down now," Mannan says, sitting back up. "Perhaps another song? Some more wine?" he offers.

"I'm calm," Ladonna says. "Wine and another song is not going to improve this situation. Thank you for your help, but I think tonight is over." With that said, she leaves. Before heading to jer room, she goes to see if she can see Relken.
