I meant about judging the current fight as a loss and moving on to the next chapter.

Oh. Well, if you really feel like there's no reasonable way to win, then sure.

The good news is, everyone gets to level up before we continue onward! So, pick what you're doing for HP, new spells, etc.

Well, that's a bit tricky, because unlike Aftermath, I'm using milestone leveling, not EXP. In milestone leveling, you level up after reaching important events in the story--for example, you leveled up after fighting the manticore, and now you've leveled up after infiltrating the monastery (you didn't succeed, but still).
I chose milestone leveling for Princes of the Apocalypse for a few reasons. First, in a fighty game like this, there are fewer opportunities for the exploration and character-building we like to reward with experience points. There may be some opportunities, but the primary motivation of the PCs is "beat up the bad guys." Second, because this is a fighty game, I feel it's important that the party be on a similar power level to the enemies, and to each other. Milestone leveling makes this easy. Finally, the module actually recommends it, due to the dungeons having a scaled level curve, basically, and explicitly points out places where those milestones can be.
Technically, the Monastery is designed for level 5--the level you're reaching right now--so hopefully y'all will have an easier time getting out than getting in. (But if experience is important, say you were just boosted to 6,500 XP)

Oh, right, right. Sorry, I totally forgot.
Okay, so 5th level. So my proficiency bonus increases to +3. I can now destroy undead. I now have access to 3rd level spells. HP is 5+1 = 6.
Am I forgetting anything?
By the way, this means Iroas is now my highest level 5E character ever.

Nope! That's good!
(and congratulations! Too bad it couldn't be Daos, over in Ozymandias, though XD)

Right, right, Drool is a full ogre. I keep thinking he was a half-ogre. So Hold Person won't work on him.
Hmm, not sure what our strategy should be. Even if we're lucky enough to hold Jurth (Hold Person doesn't work as well as it used to, he gets a save every round so it probably won't last long), I'm not sure the three of us can still take Drool without any weapons and Migor's spellcasting.

Can Migor cast any spells with those things on his hands, though? Does he know any non-somatic spells?
