Chantilly SweettoothHP: 27/27 - AC: 17 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: Yes " Mhm... Maybe they were worried and ran away." - Chantilly says, echoing Henry's words. She then pauses, as she remembered something. - " When we were there they said something about Greenest not being their first raid, but being their most fruitful. Maybe they were content with what they got and left...?" " In any case, it's best if we reunite with Caelin now. It seems he went north of here." OOC Is it still raining?

The rain has lessened a bit, to more of a drizzle, but it still remains. However, the clouds above are quite dark and ominous, suggesting they aren't finished just yet.
The party moves around the northern cliff side, toward the abandoned northern watchtower. There, they find Caelin lying in wait, watching the camp and the cave in particular, carefully.

Benyt stabs the point of her massive sword in the wet earth and leans on it in a crouch to rest and stretch her legs. She asks simply, "What news?"

Henry - HP: 28\28 - Conditions: None - Active Effects: None
"Have to admit, didn't believe they could redeploy their troops so quickly. Sir Frume always told me logistics is as important as any battle, in a war." Henry tsks, both impressed and depressed by the show of military competence of his enemies. When the party finally finds Caelin, the squire kneels to be less conspicous and watches the entrance of the cave like he expects to see something out of it; then nods to Caelin and says "Thanks for scouting."

Caelin Valaerys, pariah of TakhisisARMOR CLASS: 16 | HIT POINTS: 24 | CURRENT: 24 | HIT DIE: 3d8 | CURRENT: 3d8 PASSIVE PERCEPTION: 15 | PASSIVE INSIGHT: 17 | INSPIRATION: 1 As his companions crested the ridge, he made a motion to remind them to approach at a crouch, nodding a greeting, first to Benyt, then Henry. "No worries, friends, it was basically an afternoon stroll. The majority of the camp seems cleared out," he pointed towards the mouth of the valley, "though the hunters remain, and given that they were paid to supply food, probably means a number of the cultists, or mercenaries are still here."He pointed to the watchtowers, washing the rest of his companions over. "They appear to be vacated too." A smirk to Henry, "They don't seem too concerned that we escaped, or could lead Nighthill back here." He nodded towards the cave entrance, "Not sure how many might have stayed behind, but I've seen no movement from there. I'd like to take the time to look through the camp though, some piece of evidence, a clue to where they're headed."

Chantilly SweettoothHP: 27/27 - AC: 17 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: Yes Chantilly smiled excitedly seeing Caelin again. As he spoke, her eyes were locked on the cave, her innate curiosity begging to explore it. Caves were fun to search, there were usually very interesting things inside. She nodded distractly as Caelin's finished his report: " Yes, yes. Let's go then. Shall we climb down this time?" - she was clearly impatient, all that rain and all that walking bored her, but now it was finally time for some action!

"Surely they wouldn't leave that cave wide open would they?" Eliana asks. "I got the feeling that it was kind of important."

"A rookery perhaps, they spoke of babies, and hatchlings. The hunters did not seem keen on delivering their fresh caught meat to the caves, so I can only assume dragon whelps, or fledglings. Though who, or where their mother is, I have no clue. Mondath and Cyanwrath were waiting for us, as we were brought there," a scowl appeared on his face as he remembered their words, "so though we do not see a guard, it does not mean one is not still there, deeper in the cave system."

"Maybe that is how they were getting that blue dragon to help them," Eliana says softly. "Well, we need to get down there to see what exactly is going on in that cave then. We can go in the way we came the first time, and deal with the hunters, or we can climb down and avoid the hunters all together."

Henry - HP: 28\28 - Conditions: None - Active Effects: None
"I do believe they kept dragons in the cave as well. The hunters were scared and I got the feeling from those two - Mondath and Cyanwrath - that whatever was in the cave, it was really important to them. Plus, having dragons at your side in a war would certainly boost your confidence in the final victory - and Mondath was confident enough." Henry gently strokes his beard while observing the camp from the party's vantage point, than turns to his companions and points towards the hunters "Believe we should deal with them. Not necessarily with violence, though. During our unfortunate scouting of the camp, we met a group of hunters that seemed quite displeased by the treatment they received from the cult. There might be a chance to talk to them, gather information on the cult's activities, maybe even know where the cult went."

Though dismayed by the idea of an unknown number of dragons being about, Benyt kept it to herself. She was curious, however, what Henry had in mind for the hunters. "What do they want? What leverage do we have to engage them peacefully?"

"You believe they kept dragons in the cave?" Eliana asks, almost in dismay at the thought. "How would they even keep them under control?" she asks. "Do we know how the cult managed to convince the hunters to work for them?" she asks.

Chantilly SweettoothHP: 27/27 - AC: 17 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: Yes Baby dragons? How cute! Now she definitely had to go and check on that cave. " As for the hunters, well... If it's like Henry said and they're not associated with the cult, we can offer to pay for any leftover game they have left, maybe that will make them open up. And I'm sure Greenest could use a bit of fresh meat, the one they had at the feast was..." - she didn't finish the sentence, but the face she did was more than enough.

"Alright," Eliana says. "Let's confront the hunters then."
