Okay, I should point out that Crizza is the opposite of Gonto, philosophy wise. This is basically like playing a Satanist in a Christian nation. In other words, you'll either have to keep your allegiance to Crizza a secret and pretend to be a follower of Gonto or you'll basically be a pariah who is blamed for everything that goes wrong by the locals and might have to deal with angry mobs with pitchforks and the like.

Well, that just won't do.
I didn't see any note of that in the handbook. Sorry, Gonto it will be.

It does mention that religions other than Gonto are treated with open suspicion in the nation of Tardiff. I'll go back and try and make it more explicit.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
By the way, Rivi, not sure if you saw my last post or just haven't gotten around to it yet, but I thought I'd repost it just in case:

One last thing. Rivi arrived in Buho in the year 292, which is the same year as the Battle of Buho. My question is, did he arrive before or after that event? If before, can you tell me a little bit about how he survived? I imagine he didn't see any fighting, being 10 years old. Maybe he just stayed hidden somewhere.
Also, is the fact that he can use magic known among the locals?

id say he hid during the battle and no people do not know of his magical aptitude as he uses it in subtle ways. the owners of the tavern know but only a little like cantrips they don't know he can cast full blown spells

Alright, I was inputting his data into my notes, including his relationship rolls with the villagers. And it turns out the owner of the Goblin's Tooth (a half-orc woman named Bula Dulag) doesn't like him at all. But the owner of the other tavern in town, the Lonely Pony (a human woman named Rebekah Gibert) does like him. So I'm going to change things that he works there as the cook instead. This has other benefits, as well. For one, Ladonna (Heather's PC) works there as a waitress, so you two will have a connection to each other right off the bat. Also (whisper text below, Rivi only): Secondly, Rebekah is secretly a mage. She's a retired adventurer who moved here about 10 years ago, opened the tavern and even got on the Village Council. This is because she secretly uses her magic to her advantage, without anyone knowing. She has taught her two waitresses how to cast in secret, as well (Ladonna and an elven woman named Liala Lavellan).
This works out well, because it's hard to believe that Rivi learned full spellcasting abilities at the age of 10. I'd say the witch taught him basic cantrips, and he learned more advanced spells from Rebekah. This also works out in that Rebekah can be a mentor to Rivi, so he can learn new spells once he levels up from her. That all being said, I think we can now declare Rivi officially ready for play. Consider him approved. That's two down, at least.

I'm guessing that's your way of saying you haven't worked on your character any today?

Since the game will begin on Monday, I wanted to go over what to expect for the first chapter. The first chapter will be a chance for the players to get settled in. To meet and get to know each other, the NPCs, and get a feel for the place and get an idea of what is going on in both the village and the outside world (via rumors and such). The actual plot won't kick in until the end of the chapter, so just take the time to enjoy yourself and set things in motion. There are 250 people in the village and I have fleshed out 50+ of them, so there are plenty of people to interact with. I wrote mini-bios for them all in the "Places and People" thread, but if you want more information, I can give it to you (assuming your characters would know it, that is). Let me know if any of you have questions about what to expect.
