Welcome to Module Matinee. This forum is dedicated to a randomly selected module (I have acquired quite the collection over the years), that is played out from beginning to end for newcomers to the site. When the module ends, a new one is chosen for a new group of newbies. The old group is encouraged to stick around and join other already active games, if they haven't already done so by that point.
The first entry will be Doom of Daggerdale for Forgotten Realms. You can roll up your characters in this thread, using the dice command. Let me know if you have any questions.

Looks like you figured out the dice command.
So 12, 6, 15, 16, 9, and 17. Wow, quite a range of highs and lows there.

Yeah fairly all over the place with those rolls. However yes I figured it out i never noticed the little dice icon to the far right lol. Also took note of some cool things in your rules so I can actually be a dwarf ranger, mage, druid, monk NICE! Alright so is there a specific format to how you have us post character sheets? Dwarf
STR: 12 DEX: 16 CON: 17 WIS: 15 INT: 9 CHA: 6

You can roll what you need to (starting coin, for instance), make your choices (race, class, proficiencies, etc.), and I'll put together a stat block for you. I keep the party's stat blocks on a specific page so I can edit them as needed, and players can reference them whenever they wish, to make sure we're both on the same page. Makes it handy if you need to check your HP total or how much gold you have, and so forth.

Plus there was something about adding and subtracting 1 from a stat of my choice I guess I'm fine with leaving them as is low CHA is a bummer but eh I'm good with it. Dwarf ranger, eh? That'll be handy, as the module recommends (but does not require) both a dwarf and a wilderness (ranger or druid) character. So you'll be both!
A ranger needs a STR of 13, though. If you put a +1 in STR and a -1 in something else, you'll qualify.
Starting gold is 120 GP. Not too shabby.
Do you have access to The Complete Ranger's Handbook? If so, did you want to choose a primary terrain? Hills or Mountains are the probably the most likely.

I guess +1 to STR and -1 to INT, I'll go with Hills. I do have the complete rangers guide in pdf form.

Okay, so you will end up with:
STR: 13 DEX: 16 CON: 17 WIS: 15 INT: 8 CHA: 6
Not too bad. That low CHA will affect your relationships with NPCs, but hopefully someone else in the party can make up for that deficiency.
You'll start with 4 weapon proficiencies, 4 nonweapon proficiencies and 1 language.

Light Crossbow, Broadsword, Hand axe and save the 4th weapon prof. Hunting, Set Snares, Navigation, Survival for NWP. Are common and Dwarvish already granted for languages? If so the 1 language I'll pick is Elvish.

Navigation? Are you sure? It's fine by me, but Daggerdale is landlocked so you are unlikely to get any use out of it. I'll leave it up to you, though.
What terrain did you want for Survival? Mountains, Hills, Subterranean, Plains, etc.?
As for language, he'll get his native language for free (dwarven). So I assume you'll want to spend your language slot on Common then?

You're right scrap navigation, for Survival I was going with Hills, now if i recall don't Rangers automatically get Tracking NWP? If not then I'll go with that rather than Navigation. Otherwise if Tracking is a freebie to Rangers... I'll replace Navigation with Bowyer/Fletcher.

Yes, you are correct. Rangers not only get Tracking for free, but it actually improves as they level up.
As to your question, you receive one outfit for free but any additional clothing you must pay for.
