"Well, at least it wasn't for nothing," Daos notes, referring to the coin and axe. More out of curiosity than anything else, Daos will cast Detect Magic as a ritual on the javelins and axe. He'll also use it to search the rest of the room, as well, just to be sure.

Daos's spell reveals that the Javelins are mundane, but the axe gives off a somewhat potent magical aura.

"The axe is magical...and quite so," Daos comments. "Strange that they would leave it behind then, rather than take it with them." He looks around the room. "No other magical auras here, at least not that I can find."

"Even more reason to keep it!" Bayla laughs.
She reaches for the javelins too. It didn't seem like either of her companions wanted them, and there was no point passing up free weapons.
"It's a good haul, and I think all we'll be getting out of this cave. Let's keep moving, yeah?"

"Sounds fine to me," Melvin agrees.

"Agreed, I don't think there is anything else here for us," Daos says, before turning back the way they came, toward the cave entrance.

The group takes to the road again!

After several more hours of walking, the group comes across another town just as night falls. Unlike Meyerville, it seems to have been left untouched by the orcs, since the streets are full of people and the building are still intact.

"How strange," Daos notes. "The tracks led us right here, which means the orc army just passed by here and left it unharmed. Perhaps they had already slated their bloodlust by that point?" Daos looks at the tracks to see what direction they continue toward.
"In any case, we might as well ask around and see if the people here know anything. I imagine an army of orcs with prisoners would be a hard thing to miss," he adds.

"Yeah, we can ask around" Bayla agrees.
"With people out in the street somebody had to see something."
If no one stops her she'll lead the way into town.

The tracks lead away from the town, indicating that the orcs either went around it or outright ignored it. Meanwhile, Melvin follows Bayla into the town, where they see shopkeepers started to close up, with the occasional pedestrian roaming around on the cobble streets.

Daos looks around the town after they enter it. "Odd, I thought things would be more tense. Armed guards on patrol, people cowering inside, reinforcing structures and the like. These people seem unperturbed considered an army of orcs marched right by their town, twice," he notes. "Looks like everything is closing up. Let's find an inn. Should still be open, and there may be people there who know something."

"Oh, aye" Bayla agrees. "We should make sure the watch or the mayor or the burgomaster or whoever is in charge of this little town knows what's about, but them types don't tend to answer beck and call right at supper time. Might be easier in the morning."

"We can spend the night in that inn over there," Melvin suggests, pointing at it. "Plus, maybe we can ask around; see if anyone noticed those orcs."

"It is getting late...and I suppose an inn beats sleeping on the ground again," Daos admits. "Might as well stay here then. Lead on then."
