Dorias laughs warmly at D'halla's "disguise". "And a fine disguise it is, my lady, but need I remind you that very few humans can match your towering height? I fear it will take much more than that to prevent you from attracting the wrong sort of attention. And while I do not doubt your capacity to inflict pain on any person you choose to, my fear is that you will not face one or two enemies, but huge angry mobs of them, and even the fiercest warrior will fall to superior numbers."
"Change the code?" Dorias answers, somewhat aghast at the suggestion. "Lady, the code is what defines me, and the code demands that I shall never marry, nor vow to love only one person. I could never abandon it just because circumstances conspire to make it inconvenient or even painful to cleave to, and if you truly love me, then you cannot ask this of me. Simply put, if I give up the code, then I would no longer be the Dorias you say you love."

“Eh...not good on boat. Prefer land. Plus, Wolf might cause trouble. But thanks.”

"You have wolf?" the captain asks Grognak, intrigued. "Heard goblins have long history with wolf. But never seen one before. Always wanted to. Heard they like doggos, but bigger. Can even ride them! Tried to ride doggo once. Not end well for poor doggo." He shakes his head sadly.
Meanwhile, the wind suddenly kicks up out of nowhere. The sails, as well as any loose clothing (like cloaks) start to flap about wildly. The sky greys, which is particularly odd as there isn't a cloud in the sky.
"Whoa, what happening? Look like storm...but there no storm?" the captain asks, holding his hat to his head to keep it from blowing away, clearly baffled by the odd weather phenomenon. He starts issuing orders to his crew in Goblin to batten down the hatches, just in case.
D'halla's face darkens, as well. "So your dumb code is more important to you than me? Than to us?" she asks coolly, as thunder is heard in the far off distance. "You reject me, after I've supported and cheered for you the past two years? This is how you repay me?" Small sparks of electricity actually cackle from her fingertips and a few drops of rain begin to fall onto the deck as her anger grows.

"Dorias," Ravarie says cautiously as she steps away from the railing she was leaning against.

Grognak gets up and growls, sensing danger. He gets ready to pull out his weapons at a moment's notice.

Tears stream down the ogre's face, and at the same time, the rain begins to pick up. The two Silvanesti approach, placing themselves between the stormdancer and Ravarie protectively, and placing hands on their weapons in case they are needed.

"Lady D'halla, please listen to me," Dorias answers, his face and voice both sorrowful. "I am truly grateful for your support and I am deeply sorry for causing you pain. That has never been my intent. I believe your love for me is honest and true, and that is as fine a gift as anyone could ask for, but I cannot accept what you are offering. To you, my code seems a foolish irrelevance, but to me it is everything. It sustains me and gives meaning to my life. If I betray it, I would no longer be the man you have cheered for these past two years, and I truly believe that would doom any relationship between us. If you search your feelings, I believe you know this too. Please - D'halla - let me go."

"She is not going to accept that," Ravarie says softly.

The ship begins rocking violently, the winds whip loudly, and the rain falls like a torrent. The skies darken to the point it nearly looks like it's night, with only the constant flashes of lightning illuminating the ship. "Let go...let go?" The winds seem to lift her off the deck, allowing her to float over the ship. Everyone is forced to grab onto something to avoid being knocked overboard. A literal typhoon seems to be forming right in the bay.
"I curse you! I curse you and everyone you love! Never will you know peace again!" she cries. Then she looks upward, allowing the rain to fall right on her face. "Zeboim, Zeboim! I call upon you! Cast down your vengeance in my name!"
The ship starts moving at a breakneck speed under these hurricane force winds. There's a loud crack sound as the main mast itself is torn free and goes flying off into the distance. Crew are yelling and screaming, but they are nearly drowned out by the wind, rain and thunder. Even Dhall'a's prayers to Zeboim can no longer be heard. But the effects sure can be felt.
The ship starts to spin, so it's facing the wrong direction. Wave after wave picks it up then drops it. Even over the cacophony of noise, the cracking of the ship's keel can be heard. It snaps in two, and the entire ship flies apart. The party crashes into the waves below, and find that under the sea things are calm and quiet. But as soon as they surface for air, they return to the horrible noise and rain and wind.
What happens next is mostly a blur. None in the party save Dorias can swim, but in these conditions, even that proves difficult. It's impossible to see land anyway in this storm, so it's not clear which direction one should even swim to. Ravarie prays to Habbakuk, a known enemy of Zeboim, for salvation. And the Blue Phoenix seems to deliver. A pod of dolphins arrive at the scene, and help carry the party away. It's not clear how long they cling to those rubbery sea mammals, or how far they are taken, but eventually they are taken past the storm and to dry land again, and they find themselves exhausted afterward.
There are only a few of them left--Dorias, Ravarie and Grognak, of course, but also the two Silvanesti and the captain, as well. The rest of the crew is nowhere to be found, nor is Dhall'a herself.
It's also not clear where they are. It's not Zhea Harbor. The water is to the south of them, though, suggesting they did make it across the bay, however.
The two Silvanesti stick together, speaking in low tones. The captain sits on the beach, staring out into the water, while sadly trying to wring out his hat. His parrot is conspicuously missing from his shoulder.

After thanking the dolphins and the Blue Phoenix for his help, Ravarie crawls up on shore and promptly plops down on the sand in exhaustion. Her mind is racing though as she looks up at the sky. She spent a lot of her time alone, but when she was living with her people, she would hear stories about people falling in "love" and then somehow one of them ends up scorned, but not once has she seen or even heard of such an extreme reaction that Dhall'a had. Old memories that she hadn't really thought about in awhile starts to surface, and she turns her head to look at Sorrith and Lalora. "Is everyone all right?" she finally asks.

"Oh D'halla, you poor, misguided woman," Dorias murmurs to himself as he flops down on the beach. "Your soul was too dark to recognize the truth. What you thought was love was only a desire to possess another being, and now you have instead brought grief to many innocents. May you one day find mercy and redemption for your needless cruelties," he sighs.
Rising to his feet, he looks around at the diminished party of survivors. "Captain, I offer my heartfelt apologies for the loss of your ship and crew. Had I known that Lady D'halla was on board your vessel, I would never have come aboard and put you in such danger. It seems that riding around the bay would have been the lesser of two evils after all." "Lady Ravarie, your prayers appear to have saved us once again. I am honoured to have witnessed the grace of Habbakuk in this miracle," he says with a bow. Looking around at the landscape, he notes that the water is to the south. "I don't know where we are, exactly, but we at least seem to have landed on the north side of the bay. If you'll all excuse me, I'm going up that dune over there to see if there are any identifiable landmarks." OOC: Dorias has Local History (Southern Ergoth). The NWP description says that the character is "...a storehouse of facts about the history of a region..." and that the character "...knows when the ruined tower on the hill was built and who built it...". I'm hoping that will let him identify landmarks that could tell him where we are. Local History check vGm4yg231d20 vs. 15

"We're alive," says the female Silvanesti, "which is more than I can say for that sea witch. Even she couldn't have survived that storm. At least her evil will plague no one else now."
"Lady ogre only ask for passage after you did," the captain says. "Paid lots of coin to be on same ship as you. Thought was weird, but paid lot of coin, so didn't pry. 'Sides, thought having Stormdancer on board would be good thing. Thought Zeboim not sink ship if follower on board! Now lost ship, lost crew, lost coin...even lost parrot. Have nothing left. Not even sure what to do now."
Dorias looks around, but for the life of him, he isn't sure where exactly he is. Somewhere on the northern shore of Morgash Bay, but clearly they didn't make their original destination of Zhea Harbor.
Luckily, the captain seems to have a better idea. "Think we aren't far from Varvil. Little fishing village east of Zhea Harbor."

"The Blue Phoenix saved us, so it is very possible that the Dragon Turtle might have saved her own follower," Ravarie says to Lalora. "Dorias, since we are kind of to blame for him losing his ship, shouldn't we invite him to come with us?" she asks.

"Certainly, if that is your wish, Captain," Dorias replies directly to the goblin. "Any time everyone feels ready, perhaps we should be on our way?"
OOC: What's the captain's name again?
Does Dorias have to make a Local History check to no anything about Varvil?
