"Amalia? Yes, she was a bit rattled before, but I think she's in good enough condition to talk now," the innkeeper answers. "She lives in the house just north of here."
"The ship that was heading east is called the Kingfisher," the innkeeper responds. Looking at the pendant, he frowns and shakes his head. "Oh, dear. I've seen this before. It belonged to Polina, Amalia's mother. As if the poor dear didn't have enough misfortune as it is..."

"We should return the necklace, and ask about her wolf attack," Ravarie says to Dorias and Grognok.

"Yes, we should, though it saddens me to be the bearer of such bad news to one who barely survived herself," Dorias answers. "However, we have only just arrived, and are hardly in fit state to present ourselves. We should move our equipment to our rooms and freshen up before we go to interview Amalia. Innkeeper, if you'd be so kind as to show me to my room?"

The innkeeper takes the group to their rooms. They are simple affairs, with beds, chamber pots, and a single dresser to place clothes and other belongings in, and not much else. But they are clean, if nothing else.

Ravarie doesn't really have much stuff, if any at all, to drop off in her room. She looks it over for a little bit, then heads back towards the main room to wait for Dorias before heading to Amalia's place.

Amalia's home is a simple affair, a weather-beaten cabin in poor repair. After knocking on the front door, the party is made to wait several minutes before there is an answer. The door opens partially, revealing a young woman with short hair, perhaps in her late teens. Her left arm hangs in a sling, part of her head is wrapped up in bloodied bandages, and she has several other bandages elsewhere on her body, mostly arms, legs and torso. She looks surprised to have visitors, much less elves and goblins. "Who are you?" she asks.

Grognak stands back, knowing his presence would not help Amalia feel at ease.

"Young lady, I am Dorias Mar-Quon, cavalier of Ergoth, and this is Lady Ravarie of the Kagonesti. The hairy fellow there is Grognak. May we come in and speak with you?" Dorias replies, offering his most gallant smile.

Ravarie smiles lightly to the young woman. "We heard about your wolf attack, and we wanted to talk to you about it, if that is okay."

"Cavalier? Kagonesti?" The young woman seems at a loss for words. Finally, she realizes she is being rude, and steps aside. "Uh, please, come in. You want to know about the wolf attacks? But why?" she asks.

"Because wolves don't typically act aggressively like that," Ravarie says.

"These ones did," Amalia says, offering a small table with chairs for the party to sit. "They were smart, too. Led us right into an ambush."

"An...ambush?" Dorias answers in astonishment.

"Into an ambush?" Ravarie asks in surprise. She looks to Grognok for a moment, and he was raised by wolves, so she is curious to hear what he has to say.

“Not normal,” Grognak confirms. “Wolf hunt prey by chasing after until it tires out, not ambush. And not attack people.”
