Ahh, no doubt Snow Falls on Pines is a Treeist. He has traveled out into the world to help the humans learn the value of things other than gold. To that end, he will happily take said gold off their hands in order to help them learn this lesson.
Point being, he believes humans are redeemable.

It's also worth noting that the Tabaxi have a rite of passage, that being, hunting and collecting a trophy from one of the Beastlands' native dinosaurs. You may want to put that down as a trinket, in addition to your spyglass.

If it is ok, I made the following changes to my backstory.
Changed my name to Daflin "Flynn" di Maravoni:
Flynn grew up in a nice home living a privileged life. Upon coming of age, he set out on his own hoping to have an adventure and make a name for himself. Flynn has had some adventures, but most of them started and ended in taverns, bars, and seedy gambling dens.
He has become a rather streetwise individual capable of talking his way into and back out of most situations. He also found that the musical instrument and singing lessons he was force to take as a child have paid off substantially. Heck, he has even learned enough parlor tricks to pass as real magic.
Flynn has realized that while he has learned a lot in the past few years, he is still yet to have any real adventure. Flynn has decided to put his modest fencing and magic skills to the test and answer the call for mercenaries.
Flynn is the youngest of the di Maravoni sons. He is ready to set out with his brother Alonzo and make sure the di Maravoni boys make a name for themselves.
------------
This gives me a chance to keep him very much the same, but tie in the backstory. He isn't ashamed of him family name at all. In fact proud of it. He hates his first name and as such only goes by Flynn. He looks up to Alonzo, but will likely never admit than and also likely given Alonzo a bunch of crap because... isn't that what little brothers do?

I really like this angle. I think it would make for a lot of fun in-game. I'll edit in a bit in mine as well.
Born in the Republic of Music into the di Maravoni trade house, young Alonzo was raised on bard's stories of dashing heroes and daring deeds. Although not particularly talented as a scholar or a businessman, he was charming and a naturally skilled duelist. He took to fencing with gusto and brought a flair for the dramatic, reveling in flashy, stylish moves and bantering throughout his fights. His fondest companion was his little brother Daflin (who he often calls as such just to annoy); between Flynn's magic tricks and Alonzo's acrobatics, they were usually able to extricate themselves from whatever trouble they invariably found.
Recently, however, Alonzo has decided to do something more. He's going to live up to the bard's tales. He's going to do some dashing heroism; maybe save a princess, maybe slay a devil prince, he hasn't decided yet. Something big, in any case. He also has to keep an eye on Daflin and make sure that the "kid" brother survives. After all, as he often says, if Flynn doesn't live to become the greatest bard in the Republic, who's going to properly compose Alonzo's epic?

You may want to put that down as a trinket, in addition to your spyglass. I chose Dino hide bracers w/ built in dagger sheaths. Is that ok? Also, I made one change to the background I chose, swapping Survival for investigation. 1. It made more sense for an archaeologist than survival. Two, I will get Survival at my third Rogue level when I take the Scout sub-class. Again, is this ok?

Is Snowfall-on-Pines an archaeologist? Yes. He studies the ruins and relics of other civilizations. Because of this, he sees the best in most peoples and is often disappointed when they live down to their reputations.

Is it too late join? What roles need filling if any? Anything lorewise about the beastlands? Not at all! So far, we have a Bard, a Rogue, a Wizard, an amalgamation of various classes, and (maybe) a cleric( ), so some bulk would be nice. The Beastlands aren't exactly a country, so much as a region of untamed land that has repelled all invasion attempts. Within it live the Beastfolk (eg. Shifters, Tabaxi, Aaracokra), usually in tribes, and Druids, living a holy life of nature in order to be closer to Persephone. Dinosaurs are native to the Beastlands, and Persephone's Own, an order of Clerics and Paladins, is located in a corner of the Beastlands.

I don't think I am going to put together a character, the power disparity is a little much to take in. Folks with 20's vs Point buy with a 16, is a +2 difference, a +2 proficiency bonus is like a Five level spread. There's no reason a Paladin with max charisma, 16, and trained in Persuasion, should have a bonus equal to a 20 charisma character's untrained Persuasion check. It's like playing second string henchmen, and part of the reason I hate rolling, because it leads to a disparite characters with unbalancing stats. If we all had the same point buy or what not it would seem fairer.
I tried really hard to overlook the disparity but it keeps creeping back and annoying me so it's likely better that I just drop out.
Good luck and happy gaming!

Perhaps I could offer a solution? Either I take the point buy myself or we all have the option of using someone else's rolls?
I can certainly understand the frustration.
