Choose one. I will abstain, unless there's a tie to break.
You can make your arguments, if any, here, as well. You can change your mind, at least until the poll gets locked (which I will do once all five of you vote and there is a clear winner).

Dragonlance and ravenloft are tied up. To me Dragonlance is DnD it is the setting i first fell in love with. They were some of the first books i read. Its a world with a deep and rich hostory and unique magic compared to the rest of the worlds. It is very black and white yet has several gray characters.

Indeed. So if someone wants to change their vote to create a majority, they can. If not, I can cast a vote to break the tie.

having voted for DL I don't wish to change my vote to make Ravenloft the "majority" I'm not sure what you mean. According to the poll, you did vote for Ravenloft.

Okay, if that's true, then it sounds like we have a winner. Just to be sure, though, can everyone confirm which setting they voted for?

Alright, I guess that confirms three votes for Dragonlance, which is a majority. To start with, I went ahead and wiped away most of the house rules, which you can check in the Module Matinee Info thread. I did keep a few; like full HP at first level. I also changed the way critical hits and fumbles work. As this is the second TPK I've had due to bad luck, I wanted to try and avoid that in the future. I don't mind a TPK if it's from the party making bad choices or something like that. But it doesn't sit well with me when it's just because I can't stop rolling 20s. So from now on, a natural 20 is an automatic hit but does not deal any extra damage. A natural 1 is an automatic miss, but won't cause you to drop your weapon, fall prone, or anything like that. Let me know what you think. Now we can move on to rolling up characters. We'll still do 4d6, drop the lowest, but race/class restrictions are back in place. We'll use core 2E rules, plus the rules in Tales of the Lance. If you don't have access to it, I can provide any info you request. It's basically the official 2E conversion for Dragonlance. These are the official class/race restrictions from that book. You may notice a few new classes and races, and that class/race restrictions are a little more open than standard ones. If you see a race or class you are interested in, and don't have access to Tales of the Lance, just ask and I'll provide some more info. Dwarf, HillFighter Barbarian Ranger Holy Orders Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Commoner Dwarf, MountainFighter Cavalier Holy Orders Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Commoner Dwarf, GullyFighter Barbarian Holy Orders Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Commoner Elf, Dimernesti/DargonestiFighter Cavalier High Sorcerer Holy Orders Commoner Elf, KagonestiFighter Barbarian Ranger Holy Orders Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Bard Commoner Elf, QualinestiFighter Ranger High Sorcerer/Renegade Holy Orders Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Bard Commoner Elf, SilvanestiFighter Paladin Ranger High Sorcerer Holy Orders Bard Commoner
Gnome Fighter Illusionist Holy Orders Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Tinker Commoner
Half-Elf Fighter Knight of Solamnia Mariner Ranger High Sorcerer/Renegade Holy Orders Druid (Heathen) Priest (Heathen) Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Bard Commoner
Irda (High Ogre) Fighter Cavalier Mariner Paladin High Sorcerer Holy Orders Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Commoner
Kender Fighter Barbarian Ranger Druid (heathen) Priest (heathen) Thief or Con Artist/Prestidigitator Bard Handler Commoner
Minotaur Fighter Barbarian Mariner High Sorcerer Holy Orders Commoner
Some notes: Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Thief, and Bard work exactly like they do right out of the PHB. Barbarian, Cavalier, Knight of Solamnia, Mariner, Heathen Priest, Heathen Druid, Con Artist/Prestidigitator, Tinker, Handler and Commoner are new classes specific to the book. Mages become either High Sorcerers or Renegades upon reaching 5th level. Clerics are replaced with Holy Orders of the Stars, which are specialty priest classes (one for each of the 21 deities).
You may notice that Multi-classing isn't mentioned at all in that list. I'm not sure why; I know it exists in Dragonlance. Tika was duel-classed and Gilthanas was multi-classed. So, for the standard PHB races (dwarf, elf, gnome, half-elf), assume normal multi-class combinations. Use the halfling ones for kender and the elven ones for Irda. Minotaurs can be Fighter/High Sorcerers and Fighter/Holy Orders. Humans cannot multi-class, but only they can duel-class, like normal.
Humans can also be any class, naturally. They also come in two versions: "Civilized" humans and 'nomadic' humans. Nomadic humans fall into several sub-categories of mountain nomad, plains nomad, desert nomad, ice nomad and sea nomad. Nomadic humans must have a minimum STR of 10, a minimum DEX of 8 (and a maximum of 16), a minimum CON of 12, a maximum INT of 18, and a minimum WIS of 8 but they get the Survival proficiency for free (for their home terrain) and a +1 bonus to it. Otherwise, they are identical to civilized humans.
That said, none of this is written in stone. If there's a race/class combo you want that isn't on the list, you can always ask. Worst case scenario, I say no.
