Amazing! If if the group is ok with sub-optimation. I have been in groups(mostly 3.5) that not optimzing was a cardinal sin.
Such concepts are my jig. Are there special rules for Dragonlance wizard in 2e?
in 3.5 it was a prestige class.
also also... is evil character ok? A team player, of course.

There isn't much optimization in 2E anyway. Are there special rules for Dragonlance wizard in 2e? in 3.5 it was a prestige class. Mechanically speaking, not really. At level 1, you're just a dabbler or hedgemage. When you reach level 5, you'll be expected to take the Test or be branded a renegade. If you take the Test and pass it, then your powers begin to wax and wane with the moons. Up until that point, you're basically a standard PHB mage. also also... is evil character ok? A team player, of course. Sure. My rule with evil characters is just to not be a jerk toward other party members. No stealing from or killing them, etc.

My ideal evil player character is the kind "Oh geez, I wouldn't to be his enemy" or "I am glad that you are on our side' brutal but loyal to his/her own.
In this timeline, the minotaur emprie wasn't raised yet. Am I correct?
I was thinking of a daughter/son of a minotaur pirate or of Dragonamy warrior of sort.
edit: From the complete Wizard I took intrest in the Savage Wizard and Witch.
(For the Witch, only if you would allow to switch the charisma stat with the wisdom)

I put the summary of my rolls at the bottom and copied it but nobody correct me so i had 2 16's there I merely copied my own post of numbers and looking back clearly i did the math on the 15 wrong. Thats how i got that. No problem, it happens. Which 16 did you want to decrease by 1? The one in STR or the one in CON? Barbarian your post clearly said they started with what i rolled for steel that is how i got that. Oh, you're right. My bad, I must have gotten it mixed up with Mariner. Never mind then. I'll reduce the CON

No problem. Don't forget, too, you can't add more than 10 points to any one skill, as well. hmm, didnt see that anywhere either. I'm used to the standard 2e where you can't spend more than half of your points in one. that seems kind of restrictive when you only have a handful of skills

I'm at work right at the moment but what do i need to roll for HP? Fighter is 1d10 but for some reason I thought Barbarian was more than that. I can look it up once i am home.

You can rearrange your ability scores as you like. hmm, didnt see that anywhere either. You don't need to roll, you'll start level 1 with max HP, which is 10 (plus any CON bonuses).

Weird, I guess I just overlooked that somehow. Made the correction and should be updating the post with full char details presently.

Looks good. Oh, and a reference to the Mahkwahb. Now that's a deep lore cut. I was about to offer you inspiration for that, but then I remembered that's not a thing in 2E.
I have a couple of questions, though.
First, how did he wind up with six languages with an INT of 14?
Second, anything you can tell me about his personality?
Third, does he have a patron/matron deity? If so, which one?

Yeah, I just pulled it from your PG game because of the follower Srill/ Hunner has. It seemed like a fun concept and fit the character build/background.
The languages, I was under the assumption Common and/or Native (Dimernesti) language was free, and then with 14 int that would give 4 bonus languages. so total of 5 or 6. also didn't know if 'sea otter' was a language, so I put a "?" by that 6th one. So any clarifications there would be helpful.
Personality he is a little abrasive/ antisocial. He is used to harsh or crass language and behavior from working around less reputable types (I won't go overboard in detail on posts). He'll be able to go along for the job and not start any real trouble with the other pcs since he learned to get along with rough crews to see the work through. But he'll be full of scorn, snide remarks, sarcasm and such for most everyone (only other players if they're willing to engage in that kind of banter). Think James Dean; young, smart-alec, reckless, somethinf to prove.
I envisioned Sha'al as fairly attractive, but with an off-putting personality. But he'll be loyal to the crew he is working with at the time; be they sailors or adventurers. His reason for adventuring, aside from boredom, is mostly a need for funds he gambles/ drinks and fritters away.
Dieties: he would probably currently feel like life is one long, cruel joke. With clerical powers being a tangible thing in the setting's current time he would have to acknowledge their existance. I really don't see him following or revering any. He'd be most prone to a neutral god of luck, but Reorx really doesn't seem to fit. Sirrion is chaotic enough for him, but i'm not sure a fire god is right for a sea elf, haha. He probably has a pile of sailor superstitions and doesn;t give much thought to the gods beyond that.

By core rules, the Dimernesti language would be free, but Common would not. Going through my books, as far as I can tell, otters have no language to speak. If he's superstitious, he probably at least pays some tribute to Zeboim (known as Zura to the sea elves), even if he doesn't personally worship her. Sailors often make small sacrifices to her before a voyage in hopes of appeasing her violent temper.

Yeah, after reading up a little bit on her on your recommendation I think actually that's kind of perfect. It's funny that she in other sources is described as having pretty much exactly the same coloration he does, which might be a comparison others have made in the past. I think he might have some kind of feeling that she's responsible for all the terrible things that have happened to him in some way, so it's more of an appeasement than worship. He still probably doesn't give a whole lot of thought to the gods but it might be reflexive at this point to make small offerings or hold to certain superstitions. Think I may change his shield to a turtle shell design; sort of a sardonic acknowledgement of what he feels his situation to be.

For the backstory- are minotaur pirates plausable at this timeline? Or would it be easier to justify a minotaur adventurer as ex member of the dragonarmies/child of dragonarmy's mercanary?
or, because of the character desire for magic, the minotaur wizard left the blood isles in hunt for scrolls and books?
I am leaning toward the savage wizard, the vodoo dolls sound like a cool thing, if I ever pull it off.

Ok, updated attitude and shield on the sheet and for the languages I removed the otter one (ba-dum bish!)
Is undersea common the same as Aquan?
Ooh, if Minotaur pirates are plausible, would you want your char and Sha'al to know each other? or possibly to know your char's parents?
