The Lliset and the great galley continue fighting. The Lliset tries to move in closer, but the galley evades it. They fire off another ballista bolt and catapult load; the former hits the galley's hull, while the latter misses. The Galley does likewise, doing about the same.
The Tiaru enters battle with the second caravel, moving into arrow range. Their archers all fire, and several of the caravel's crew fall dead, including two officers. They hit the caravel's rigging with a ballista bolt but their catapult misses. The caravel returns fire, killing two of the Tiaru's rowers and two of its crewmen, its ballista hits their rigging and their catapult misses.
"Admiral, we're in ballista range!" Bayla calls down from the crow's nest. "Orders?"
Meanwhile, the Salty Dwarf, Blue Diamond and Seleya continue to sail forward, toward their enemy, with singular purpose.

Round 04!
Lleiset vs. Great Galley Maneuverability Phase: Lleiset and Great Galley are 250 yards apart. Lleiset wishes to close with the Great Galley, so make a maneuverability check (1d6+3): 1+3 = 4; the Great Galley also makes a maneuverability check (1d6+3): 3+3 = 6; Great Galley wins and widens the distance between them by 20 yards (increasing to 270 yards) and Lleiset suffers a -1 penalty to missile/artillery combat this round. _IbO7g|11d6 1d6 Action Phase: The Great Galley has 40 marines but is outside long range, so hold off. But they do fire their aft medium ballista (medium range) and aft medium catapult (normal range). The ballista [THAC0 14 - AC 10 = 4 to hit; -2 for medium range] fires at the Lleiset (1d20-2): 19-2 = 17, hit causing (2d10): 11, a partial hull strike, causing 1 hull damage. At Kalana's command, the crew works to get the ship into position, then fires the ballista. The bolt sails into the air and then actually hits the enemy caravel, striking the rigging. The caravel returns fire, with both a ballista and a catapult, but thankfully both miss and the missiles splash into the water near the Bluemoon.
Bayla remains in the crow's nest, calling out highlights from the others' fighting. "Seleya about to enter combat range. Looks like the Lleiset is winning. So is the Tiaru. Wait, check that. They took a really bad hit. Tiaru's floundering, Admiral. Looks like they're out of the fight."

"Looks like the Blue Diamond and Salty Dwarf are changing course, heading for the Tiaru," Bayla reports to Kalana. "But the cogs are still pursuing them, and the caravel looks ready to strike as soon as they enter range. Oof, the Lleiset took a nasty hit, admiral. But it looks like it's okay. The Seleya is about to engage with the sohar." Kalana calls for her crew to fire the ballista again. Again, the bolt hits the enemy caravel's rigging, dealing some damage to its ability to move quickly. It fires back both a ballista and catapult, but both miss again. On the Blue Diamond, Senllip's crew begin changing course to reach the Tiaru, although the Salty Dwarf is much closer. "Those cogs are still coming at us, but it looks like it will take them awhile to reach us," Cassie notes. "But that caravel that took out the Tiaru is still there, waiting. We'll have to be careful." Over on the Salty Dwarf, Brax's crew begins changing the ship's course to the Tiaru. They aren't too far from it, but the caravel that took it down remains in wait. "Be careful," Thom warns him. "Their catapult and ballista can hit us before we are in range to hit them." =========== Round 06!Lleiset vs. Great GalleyManeuverability Phase: Lleiset and Great Galley are 270 yards apart. "Signal Kalana that we will try to distract the caravel to keep Brax somewhat more safe. Change course to try and lure the caravel aside, or at least change position so het artillery is aimed away from Brax and the Tiaru. Be careful not to get too close, just to the range of our Catapult. Shoot and increase distance." Senllip orders decisively.
================================================================================== (OOC: I assume the caravel can't fire 360 degrees. unless the catapult/balistrae have some mechanism to turn around. If the former is the case Senllip would want to take a course that won't allow the caravel threat both The Salty Dwarf and The Diamond, and allow Brax to assist the Tiaru.)
